They don't let you do your own froyo (literally the only con) but on Wed, they will fill your cup for 1 price. No weigh. They also have boba tea & super cool snacks from different countries! My kiddos loved everything! “Great place to stop for some ice cream. Has a small area with picnic tables. Great variety of ice cream, hard and soft serve. They also has frappes and ice cream nachos (which sounded great but my kids are boring ?). Staff was very friendly as well.“

“Okay, they don't make their own ice cream but the brand they serve, Richardson's, is phenomenal. Portions are big and the price is decent. Weekend evenings can be crowded but they do their best to keep the line moving. So many choices! So many great choices, including sugar free, fat free, and dairy free.“
“Let me start with I was not very happy with the sandwich I received, when I arrived back to my work I opened up my meatball sub and it was cold, I wish that the clerk had told me that we are just opening up and the meatballs are still not ready. But what could I do I was a good 20 minutes away, so I ate it cold. The meatball sandwich was still delicious even though it was not hot. That is why I still have it a 5 star for the flavor of this sandwich but not the service I received. I will definitely try again hopefully the balls will be hot.“
“One of my favorite places to go after work. I get myself a chocolate and strawberry frappe with chocolate sauce and whip. One of my favorite things, especially on a hot day! I also appreciate the special Sundaes and flavor combinations they do. I highly recommend!“

“My 6 year old daughter has a sever anaphylactic allergy to dairy. The staff members that are very accommodating when taking her order. Especially Evan and Liz! They are the ones that I feel most comfortable ordering her dairy-free ice cream. They go above and beyond to make my daughter what ever she wants without making her feel any "different". I am personally at ease when I see them behind the counter and will wait for them to take my order because I know my daughter is in good hands! Although every member of the team is always incredibly nice and welcoming. They take their time with each customer even it the line is wrapped around the building you will never feel rushed to order!“
“Picked up a couple Raspberry Lime Rickies and a Cotton Candy Ice Cream with Cotton Candy Sprinkles, I'll call it a Cotton Candy Squared. Service was excellent, fast, and friendly. The Raspberry Lime Rickey was yummy and the best one I've had today. I've been told that that the ice cream was really good too. Stop in if you're in the area, it's kind of tucked into the corner in the plaza so it might take some looking to find it but it's worth the search.“
“I can't say I've ever eaten any food at Frates so please take this review as a review of the ice cream and setting only. As I am new to the area, this was my first visit to Frates and it was charming in a way that walk-up New England ice cream shops are. There is an Elvis statue inside and fun music playing. The ice cream is well-priced and deeee-licious! I got an M&M Nor'easter which was great. The ice cream is very creamy and the amount of M&Ms was perfect. Others in my party got ice cream cones, sundaes, and a cup of ice cream. Not a single complaint and not a drop of ice cream left before we headed home. Since it is still chilly out there is a nice heated tent area with tables to sit and enjoy. As the weather warms I imagine sitting outside with that ice cream dripping will bring the nostalgia of long past summer days in New England come rushing back. I can't wait to return back to Frates again and again! (And next time take pics before we gobble our ice cream up! )“
“Got take out. The scallops were AMAZING!!!! Golden, sweet and succulent. I just wish their "French fries" were on the same level. Theyre more like "potatoe shards". Not a fan. I'll be back again for sure, onion rings next time.“
