“I went for the raving reviews but I found this place perfectly adequate. The cream of wheat was indeed the star of the show. It came quickly and hot, but then it was about a 45-50 minute wait for our mains. We went on a Sunday morning so maybe this is as slammed as they get but I wouldn’t recommend if you are super hungry. It also took about 20 minutes to get a table, but you can put your name on a wait list and they have free coffee outside which is a nice touch. The mains were decent… far from the best breakfast I’ve ever had but it was fine enough. Also heads up if you’re visiting from out of town/out of country it’s cash or venmo only.“

“This small shop was a very nice surprise for me! They're known for chocolate croissants, and they were, indeed, very good here. I got them fresh, and they were very fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The chocolate was also pretty warm, and so it pretty much melts in your mouth. For me, this was even the case 30min after I got my croissant. Also good, for more savory items, were their foccacias. I forgot the name, but I got one with Italian sausage and tomatoes. Very nice, as the sausage was quite flavorful, and the foccacia, while a bit oily, wasn't overly so. The bread was still nice and crispy, too. I would definitely visit this place again, and try their other items. I saw one of their toasted cookies that looked really good, so that's maybe something l want to try, next time.“

THE customer finally asked for the only 2 cakes left which were much smaller than cake ordered. he wanted happy birthday written on the cakes and was told it couldn't be done....not sure why. 30 minutes before closing time. the beaten down guy said...I'll take those 2 cakes in replace of the cake I ordered that you failed to make. I was literally floored when the kid behind counter said ...we can't just give you those cakes. you have to pay for them. this could have been handled so many ways better. and again, not one we are sorry. none of the stuff here is anything great...the guy should have went and got a cake at the grocery store. when businesses mistreat and disrespect their customers that's it for me. modern pastry is a small business....I've seen customers treated much better at wal.art and Costco. shame on modern pastry“

“The menu is quite expansive, so this is a good catering option. I love middle eastern/Mediterranean food, so I’ve tried a lot of different places in Boston. Compared to other places, I wouldn’t say Sultana’s makes the cut for my favorites, but it wasn’t bad.- Spinach feta quiche: The portion size is good, but the flavor was bland. I wasn’t able to finish it.- Cookies: The cookies weren’t overly sweet, which I liked. They were crumbly yet soft.- Fruit yogurt pastry: This was my favorite. I liked that they are bite-sized (though, this is also dangerous because you’ll end up eating a lot). The pastry was flaky, and the yogurt was sweet, which balanced the tartness of the fruits.- Caprice acma: I wasn’t a fan of this. The acma was too doughy. Maybe it would have tasted better warm.Happy to have tried a new place, but I probably wouldn’t come back.“

It should be pretty obvious to the birthday person whose cake it is anyways. I liked that the cake was barely sweet, there was no frosting on the outside! Just thinly sliced fresh mango. The combo of the mango and the slightly sweet cake is the right amount of dessert for me. The cake is slightly denser than Western cake— same texture as angel food cake but not nearly as sweet. “Quaint pretty cafe. Loved the interiors and the vibe. The food is authentic middleeastern food. They have huge variety of sweets. We got a pack of hummus to take home. The falafel was dry and OK. The turkish tea was nice and refreshing. We also tried a bunch of appetizers of which our favourite was the spicy potato sambusa.“

“Stopped by this cute shop needing a dose of caffeine after a long flight and fighting jet lag. The service was amazing and being from out of town the baristas were so kind to tell me what was in every beverage. Ended up ordering the Nutty Bee after they told me they make all their syrups in house. The beverage wasn't too sweet and really enjoyed the nutty flavor that came through What really impressed me was how friendly the shop owner was with all the customers and how she treats her employees. She seems to be very supportive and you can tell with all of the banners she enjoys making a positive difference in the community“

“Really good eats here! The broccoli cheddar soup was pretty salty but very flavorful and Hearty. The sticky bun was great- fluffy soft bread and plenty of pecans. Also very much enjoyed trying the half sizes of the mushroom melt sandwich, the Butternut Squash sandwich, and the achiote chicken sandwich. The raspberry oat bar was nice too, and the carrot cake was very moist and with a lot of cream cheese frosting that wasn't overly sweet. There are seating areas downstairs and upstairs which include bar seats and benches and regular chairs, as well as an elevator to the second floor. The staff were very professional and friendly and we saw them help visually impared customers with great courtesy. The only thing I would skip is the chai latte- it tasted pretty bland.“

“Tried their California location prior and had a good time so I decided to checkout the one in Boston. It was defiantly good, not too spacious but good for the area. The staff was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. The donuts did taste fresh and were really delicious. The fruity pebble donut was my favorite along with the cheese only Korean corn dog!“

“Delicious waffles ! Good coffee! Tiny space be prepared to squeeze in . You can order on the iPad or at the counter. They bring it out to you. The waffles are liege waffle S but the size of a Brussels waffle. We shared one and it was plenty!! Got an Americano and it was decent. They didn't have half and half creamer so I plopped my extra whipped cream into it myself.“

“We came to grab coffee on a whim before heading to an open house nearby. There isn’t much seating, just a small table in the front, so it’s more a grab and go spot. The pastries completely won me over though! So many great and creative options. I will come back to try more!“

“Honestly, one of the better brunches I've had. Being someone that doesn't eat eggs, having just egg is an option all brunch places should have. Amazing food and amazing service. Went back the next day and if I'm ever in Boston again, definitely will be on my list!“
