“I had Ethiopian cuisine on my bucket list for real long time, but since I couldn't find much time to visit any Ethiopian restaurant in New York city, I decided to go ahead with the one in Washington DC!Initially, I was a bit hesitant to order the meat dishes since my last adventure with African cuisine wasn't a great one. Glad that Ethiopians have a good amount of vegetables in their diet which helped me make a safe and easy choice to go with!I went ahead with their traditional veggie platter, which consisted of 2 vegetables, 2 lentil dishes and a salad served over Injera( basically the Ethiopian version of dosa: An Indian dish and a much softer one instead of crispy). The vegetables served were cluster beans along with cabbage and potato. The cluster beans felt right out of my home kitchen whereas the potato was undercooked in the cabbage one! The two lentil dishes served out of which one was the spicy one and the other not spicy. I loved both of them. Honestly, I never thought it would be so close to traditional Indian cuisine as a result I also let the server know the same.The server was pretty friendly and was happy to guide me through their menu while providing quick service. The restaurant though feels like a homely vibe with close seating and the ambiance being that of a family home.Overall, an amazing experience for me with interesting thing being it felt like having a home cooked meal rather than eating at a restaurant!“

“I first ordered the swordfish and it was wildy underwhelming. Under seasoned through and through, it failed its obvious potential. So I order the helf chicken and it was delicious thankfully! My drink "The Rascal" was also great!! Next time I will try anything else except for the swordfish.“

“Lovely spot in the Dupont Circle Hotel. I don't usually choose hotel restaurants but this was a perfect spot for a quiet lunch with a friend. Our server, Miguel, was fantastic - very helpful, thoughtful, and just the right amount of time spent at our table. The GM (don't have his name) was also very nice - funny and attentive from start to finish. The food was very good, I had a salad with salmon on it, and my friend had the crispy salmon lunch. Highly recommend if you need a classy, quiet spot in downtown DC.“

“Right in front of the Nationals Ballpark we saw Tap99. What absolutely drew our attention was the Big a** mozzarella sticks (yes they are actually called that)! So we immediately went inside and saw that it was a pour it yourself beer, liquor and shots restaurant as well! We got a demonstration on how to use the machine to pour whatever you want and then we were off to the races. There is a ton of seating both inside and out. Outside has covered seating across from the sidewalk as well which was great! We ordered the totchos, jumbo wings in honey bbq and of course the mozzarella sticks that lured us to this spot. For drinks we ordered various margaritas that poured perfectly in the glass every time. My favorite was the strawberry margaritas. They weren't too sour and had a bit of a sweet flavor to them. We also tried the lemon drop shots you can pour yourself and they were really well done. For the food, everything we ordered was delicious. Those three things turned out to be a ton of food. I really liked the bacon and cheese on the tots, the wings has a great sauce and tons of meat on each one, and the mozzarella sticks were incredible. I was just astonished by how much cheese filled each one and how little breading was needed to hold it all together. It also did a perfect cheese pull with every bite and had some sprinkled cheese on top of them. They were so large we had to conquer them by cutting off bites. I would totally recommend them to anyone that enjoys eating mozzarella sticks. Overall, this spot was incredible, so many people there but also so many taps that you never have to wait in a line to get a drink. I definitely want to come back here again at some point soon!“

“I was devastated when I showed up for my reservation today when I realized my reservation was actually for tomorrow, but I left feeling QUITE the opposite.The hostess (I did not catch her name) told us she could squeeze us in as long as we didn’t stay past a certain time (which was so generous and more than enough time to begin with). We ordered our drinks, and when the drinks came, the (manager? bartender? i’m not sure) brought them out and even included a drink he said he created the recipe for yesterday and wanted our thoughts on it! all of the drinks were amazing. the hostess came to our table and told us she even moved reservations around so we didnt have to feel rushed (wish we didn’t to begin with)! it was just so sweet. our food was just as good, if not better. our server (anthony) was so kind.i had high expectations of the food going into dinner but the service was just as great!“

“Have stopped in twice, both times for the Happy Hour in the first floor bar area. The drinks have been excellent and the bartenders attentive. The food options for the HH are varied and each dish was satisfying and unique. Highlights are the soup dumplings, pork belly, and khachapuri breads (cannot go wrong with any of the varieties). I haven’t tried for a standard dinner but the tastings I’ve had and service make this a great spot. Street parking only if you’re driving, but the neighborhood is solid and you shouldn’t have too much issue.“

“Went here on a first date and it was a fun spot! It took a little while to get a table and the service was a tad on the slower side but they were super busy and it was a Friday night so it made sense! We both ordered margaritas on the rocks and they were delicious and a good size/strength, not too sweet. The app we got was chips and guac and it was a great size for the price. We also both ordered 3 tacos from the options listed, both of our favorites was the Al pastor. Only complaint here was that the plate was this like rock slab so as the tacos dripped there was not edge to catch it and our waiter took a bit to get us extra napkins. I believe they were recently featured in a Washington post article or something like that so they might've been super busy because of that! Also as an aside, we had to try one of the tacos with ants in it because that's a unique experience and they were much larger ants than expected! Not my taste and weirded me out a bit but cool that they have the option!“

“I celebrated my 30th birthday here at Royal Sands last weekend and it was beyond a 5-star experience. What's great about hosting events here is that it's incredibly spacious and you don't have to pay ridiculous rental fees! We had a roped off area by the entrance for my group of 25 friends, plenty of chairs and booths, and so much space to dance! Chris, the manager introduced himself and kept an eye on our party to make sure we were all doing alright, and our server Katharine was attentive and making sure all our food and drinks were put in and coming out. Thank GOD this place serves late night happy hour because the sushi and the sushi boat was absolutely bomb, and we had the munchies after drinking. They will remove or replace ingredients to suit your needs whenever possible. My cousin and I went there and without any prompting they asked if they could help us out by making any of the dishes vegetarian or vegan.Dietary restrictions: They will go out of their way to make anything allergy free for you if possible.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu, however I don't think I would have brought my kids in there until they were at least eight or 10 years old, I would say that if you're child is extremely well behaved in restaurants and public places it is suitable, otherwise you may want to find somewhere else, it is not the kind of place where kids can run around and play tag while Mom and Dad finish their mealWheelchair accessibility: There's an elevator, and a wheelchair accessible washroom , however the bar is fairly packed and maybe a little bit difficult to navigate in a wheelchair.One Patron in a wheelchair came in when I was there, they were very diligent about helping him make it to his table, however he did have to be escorted by one of the staff to have some people at tables get up and move their chairs so he could get to his table which was at the back.“

I would recommend their Black Miso Cheese Ramen, which had a good broth, especially compared to the Tokyo Ramen. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles, as they were a little on the tough side. We also tried the Tako Corn Dogs, which were on the doughier side and would not recommend.“

“My first time here. It's been a while since I had been out so for water me and my friends came here. The ambiance is cute. Very barrel like place. Especially if you are a whiskey drinker. “Excellent beer in a basement that serves a great selection of Belgian and monk-ist beers. Beers are affordable ($8-15), especially because most of them are higher in abv. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Bartender was efficient and seemed to have quite a few regulars at the bar. Overall a quiet place to have conversations! I'll be back.“

“Yes! I love the concept. I love how it’s a hand made patty and the burger was cooked perfectly. In addition, you have an option to add items to your burger if you do the build your burger option. You can also choose their preselected choices which look really good. I chose to add sautéed onions, bacon, and Italian sausage. I will say although the Italian sausage was good, I wouldn’t add it again; it didn’t hurt the burger overall. You choose your seasoning (I chose basic), sauce (house bbq), lettuce and tomato. I also ordered the seasoned fries (garlic parmesan). I was curious so I asked for the spicy ranch. It was pretty good.“

There's plenty of seating in the Bryant Street Market food hall, so you can take your drinks away from this boisterous end of the market if you want to have a quiet conversation. We only tried 2 drinks, the mezcal and regular tequila margaritas, on this visit. The menu looks intriguing and I'd want to come back to try a few of their more complex cocktails. The food bites looked good when others ordered them, but they did seem small so you might want to order more if you're hungry or check out other places in the market. They have a happy hour as well, so I'll have to make a return visit to check that out!“

The personal sized flatbread was the perfect amount for one person. Nice combination of toppings and a warm soft crust. Salads were perfectly seasoned and dressed.
