We were seated immediately upon our arrival. We were a party of 2. We ordered garlic bread, we split a Caesar Salad, we both chose the Chicken Parmesan, and we had the Spumoni Bomba for dessert. The garlic bread was a bit bland. I would pass on that next time. The salad was good. But the Chicken Parmesan was one of the best we have ever had. Definitely a wonderful choice. And the Bomba was great as well. It gets busy and with a small family run restaurant they get a little overwhelmed. The service was good and the people are friendly. Despite not having reservations for the elegant dining section, we were graciously offered a seat at a group of tables in the bar area, further enhancing our initial impression with another 5-star rating.Although I typically shy away from shellfish, I was delighted to find an extensive menu offering a variety of seafood, as well as options from land and scales. “Don’t let Atxondo’s modest looks deceive you. I was skeptical but some friends wanted to try this place so I went along. I was very pleasantly surprised. We ate vegetarian and everything was excellent. I can recommend the brussel sprouts, tortilla española, crispy potatoes, coliflor, golden beets, fried shishitos, and risotto. Nicaraguans drink it too but we call it “Jamaica”. The efo riro was great, small portion but great flavor.
