“Pardon the Late Review.Couldn't forget to thank Xtreme Ramen and Bun for their fresh and delightful dishes. When vacationing nearby, this establishment was a blessing! My friend was suffering from a bad case of food poisoning acquired from a hot food bar on super bowl Sunday. So, when finding a place to eat, we had to be extremely cautious.Thankfully, we came across Xtreme Ramen and Bun.The first dish tried was the vegetable ramen. When I tell you this is the only fresh and authentic cuisine offered at the Apollo, I'm not over exaggerating. The bowl was filled with a variety of beautiful vegetables and a mild broth. The first thing my friend was able to eat with their sick stomach. Of the dish I loved the mushrooms! They tasted as though they were seasoned well before marrying the broth. Overall, anyone with a tender stomach would benefit from this comfort dish.On our next visit, we had the Tonkotsu Ramen. This dish is more hearty than the previous bowl. The egg was cooked to perfection and so were the tofu pieces! There's a full Umami sensation with each bite. Overall, I must say we regretted trying another location on a different day during our trip. Lesson learned, when in the area- Xtreme Ramen and Bun is the only choice! You're not eating anything that's commercial- rather, you're taking a bite from home.Thank you for the delicious meals. I look forward to you again next year!Vegetarian options: Tofu is offered in place of meat.Dietary restrictions: If gluten is an issue or if you have a sensitive stomach - then this establishment is the best for you. Fresh vegetables and a home brew broth blend well to provide a balanced and healthy meal.“

“Really delicious and awesome vibe! This is a creative Asian place where I would say noodles are their forte. The area is really small and cozy, with great decor. They only seat about 20 people at a time in their space, so I would reserve or come early. We came as they opened and were seated as a party of 5.For food, LOVE the brontosaurus! The broth is excellent and rich but too too rich, nicely smoked ribs, excellent selection of side veggies and the noodles had a great texture. The noodles in the mazemans were the same noodles as the brontosaurus, but the mazeman has no broth and so I prefer the brontosaurus. The ribs in the brontosaurus could’ve been more tender but I still loved it overall! Pork buns were good as well. Beautiful presentation and great taste on all! And nice edgy underground atmosphere/decor and reasonable prices.Vegetarian options: Mushroom ramen“

“Everything at Menya is completely mind-blowing and it's the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. It's a little hard to visit here especially with their hours but every time I can make the trip over to DC I always make an effort to come here. Their food stays consistent and service is incredible. It's amazing to watch how in synch the entire team is and they have an open kitchen where you can watch the staff make the endless bowls of ramen! The karaage is a MUST-TRY it's so incredibly crispy on the outside but perfectly juicy on the inside. It's also paired with a yuzu dipping sauce and it brings the chicken to a whole other level, 10/10. My favorite ramen is the Spicy Tonkotsu because it includes a house made chili spice that really brings a nice kick to their traditional Tonkotsu broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu because each type of ramen is so incredible in its depth of flavor.“

“The spot is very cozy and small . The place was really busy for a Sunday afternoon. I came here with with a friend based on his previous experience and we were not disappointed. We had a bit of a wait when we first entered the restaurant because of how popular and small the restaurant is it is. Be prepared to wait also ,it is a bit cramped and there isn't ample space between tables. I ordered the Sakuramen Ramen with Chicken Spice Level 4 . The amount of noodles given was sufficient, and the broth was really hot and flavorful. Will be back to try more of the menu when in Adams Morgan“

“A ramen shop that serves some hearty meals in a fun-looking interior with colorful lights and designs. The staff are attentive, and the food is brought out quickly. I would recommend their Black Miso Cheese Ramen, which had a good broth, especially compared to the Tokyo Ramen. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the noodles, as they were a little on the tough side. We also tried the Tako Corn Dogs, which were on the doughier side and would not recommend.“

“Bantam King is my go-to spot for a great meal when in downtown DC. I lived right by here for 2 years, and every time I went to Bantam King, I had a fantastic meal.I've eaten a ton of fried chicken in my life all over the US, and a decent amount across DC. I can absolutely say that their fried chicken platter is some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. I've also had the chicken ramen. Both my wife, who is a huge ramen lover, and I think it's fantastic.I also enjoy the mint sweet tea, and the desserts are really good as well. The atmosphere is super fun as well, great for any small group or couples. You probably won't be able to get in with a massive group (it's a small space)...but that's not what this place is really for.I've eaten here on my birthday the past 2 years, and I see that continuing in the future.“

“Good prices, good food, and wonderful service! We went here since it was conveniently right next door to a concert at the 9:30 club. But it is definitely one of my favorite places in the DC area now!Prices were extremely reasonable for the DC area, it ended up being ~$25 per person with a happy hour drink AND a desert per person with the ramen. Everything was amazing, the drinks were excellent, if a little dangerous. The ramen was, of course, amazing, 100% get the spice/veg bomb, one is enough for ~2 people and it adds a perfectly spicy touch. The deserts were also perfect, their new fried dessert bao was super unique and I'd go back for that on its own.The service was super nice and knowledgeable and really added to the whole meal (Thank you Eden).“

“Diverted here for my birthday lunch as I was planning on going nearby but once I saw Rakuya, I NEEDED IT! I'm so glad we did, the food was delicious and the servers were attentive but not overly so. It was a busy Friday lunch so it was PACKED. The vibe feels authentic (we lived on Okinawa for 3 years) but the tables were SO CLOSE TOGETHER that I felt like I was trying to scooch by down an airplane aisle which also meant that it was so easy to hear the neighbors' conversations.“

“Thought this place was great. I had a Sapporo, and they must turn them over pretty quickly because it was fresh, not skunky. Got the soup dumplings--great flavor, piping hot, not too liquidy. Smoky noodles--chewy black mushrooms, baby bok choy, kimchee, a little spicy but not too hot. Service was fast and friendly. Liked it and would go back to try more.“
