“as someone who’s had ramen in japan, this is the only place in america (that ive been to so far) that can even compare!! all of the food is so good and the bubble tea is a perfect companion!! the staff are also incredibly sweet and very accommodating. DEFINITELY try the tonkotsu ramen it’s sooo good ???“
“My wife and I went to Hanaro during lunch time, but it was only for takeout. There were some crumbs on the floor and some dust by the waiting area, but the store was fairly clean. The price of the sushi is reasonable and the taste and flavor of the sushi is of the highest quality. I am giving this restaurant a four-star rating because the taste of the sushi was truly exceptional and of the highest quality. Despite some minor cleanliness issues, the reasonable price and outstanding flavor make Hanaro a great choice for sushi lovers.“
“Really delicious and awesome vibe! This is a creative Asian place where I would say noodles are their forte. The area is really small and cozy, with great decor. They only seat about 20 people at a time in their space, so I would reserve or come early. We came as they opened and were seated as a party of 5.For food, LOVE the brontosaurus! The broth is excellent and rich but too too rich, nicely smoked ribs, excellent selection of side veggies and the noodles had a great texture. The noodles in the mazemans were the same noodles as the brontosaurus, but the mazeman has no broth and so I prefer the brontosaurus. The ribs in the brontosaurus could’ve been more tender but I still loved it overall! Pork buns were good as well. Beautiful presentation and great taste on all! And nice edgy underground atmosphere/decor and reasonable prices.Vegetarian options: Mushroom ramen“
“Everything at Menya is completely mind-blowing and it's the best ramen I've had outside of Japan. It's a little hard to visit here especially with their hours but every time I can make the trip over to DC I always make an effort to come here. Their food stays consistent and service is incredible. It's amazing to watch how in synch the entire team is and they have an open kitchen where you can watch the staff make the endless bowls of ramen! The karaage is a MUST-TRY it's so incredibly crispy on the outside but perfectly juicy on the inside. It's also paired with a yuzu dipping sauce and it brings the chicken to a whole other level, 10/10. My favorite ramen is the Spicy Tonkotsu because it includes a house made chili spice that really brings a nice kick to their traditional Tonkotsu broth. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu because each type of ramen is so incredible in its depth of flavor.“
“I am very excited, happy to share. Today was just going to be a day to be bar hopping. But jinya was my first stop. My sister in law and I thought it was going to be a place where one drink one app and off to the next bar. Noooottt, loved our bartenders. Antonio. Amazing performance, personality. His suggestions into getting a mezcal margarita, really!!! But was well balanced. Jackie kudos, awesome personality as well. We shad such an amazing time we stayed longer then anticipated.“
“Gyuzo offers an exceptional Japanese dining experience, made perfect by Amanda's impeccable service. From her warm welcome to expert menu guidance, Amanda ensured a memorable evening. The dishes, including delectable sashimi, ramen, and Wagyu beef, showcased Gyuzo's culinary excellence. Amanda's attention to detail and seamless service left us eager to return.“
“Carlos was the best bartender and the food was deliciousParking: The parking is free on the street which is wonderfulKid-friendliness: You can also bring your family and friends as well. The food is great with vegan choices and my favorite is the spicy chicken ramen if you like to eat meat?“
“Well simmered broth. Large portion. It's part of JINYA Holdings so you know the quality is consistent. The setup at location has the feel of a sport bar on the bar side adjacent to the food court. Though dimly lit, it had a nice ambiance and not too loud.“
“So glad I got to try this location! I’ve had Jinya in Atlanta before, and this location is just as amazing. I’ve tried the Spicy Tonkotsu and the Spicy Umami Miso. Both were so flavorful! They have a lot of seating space both a downstairs and a second floor dining room— came for a Sunday lunch with a friend and had no wait, even though they were actually pretty busy inside. Would highly recommend!“
“Food is great. I had the chicken Ramen and was surprised to see a full leg quarter in it! Very delicious. Also had the Brussel Sprouts and they were good. And don’t forget the Peach Green Tea *chefs kiss*. The wait was long but it was a Friday night. A small Bar downstairs that serves as a waiting “
“The Best Ramen House In the World ?. The Ramen was Outstanding with flavor and levels of Hotness... Huge College Spot for The Youth.. but the Ramen was Beautiful and very Tasty...Vegetarian options: Yes they Have Vegetable Ramen it's Miso“
“It was our first time here, and we really enjoyed the food! We had the spicy miso based ramen with chicken katsu, the volcano base ramen with bulgogi, the chicken katsu curry rice and a Phoenix Special Roll. From the side salad & miso to the size & freshness of the roll (could've been spicier;)) and the simplicity of the soup bases and even the curry-- everything was delicious! Even my picky husband said it's some place he'd come back to;)“
“This was my first time visiting and I wish I lived in the area so I could visit all the time! We ordered a quick take out meal for dinner and it was fantastic. The food was flavorful and fresh, and the portions are plentiful. The staff is kind and welcoming.?: Bibim Soba, Miso Soup“
“Finally a really standout great place to eat in the DMV. This ramen was spectacular & the service was above and beyond. You can tell how much they care about the craft here. We just recently moved to NOVA and haven't found a place we want to eat at again...until now. I had the spicy miso ramen and I thought the spice level was just perfect. I practically drank the broth clean out of the bowl. The bathroom is also the coolest little bathroom I've ever been in. The server & chef came several times to check on us and even offered some samples of new items they're going to release soon. It made our visit very special.“
“I’ve dined here a couple times now. The music and the employees’ personalities bring a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Food comes out hot and the wontons are sooo good. Cocktails are really delicious too, I def recommend the penicillin. Manager was sweet for checking in on us and even offered popcorn while we waited for our food.“
“Bantam King is my go-to spot for a great meal when in downtown DC. I lived right by here for 2 years, and every time I went to Bantam King, I had a fantastic meal.I've eaten a ton of fried chicken in my life all over the US, and a decent amount across DC. I can absolutely say that their fried chicken platter is some of the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. I've also had the chicken ramen. Both my wife, who is a huge ramen lover, and I think it's fantastic.I also enjoy the mint sweet tea, and the desserts are really good as well. The atmosphere is super fun as well, great for any small group or couples. You probably won't be able to get in with a massive group (it's a small space)...but that's not what this place is really for.I've eaten here on my birthday the past 2 years, and I see that continuing in the future.“
“Ramen is great on a cold rainy day, but the real MVP hidden gem is the $8.99 chicken karaage, which is one of the top chicken dishes in town-- up there with El Pollo Rico's Peruvian chicken, GPB's fried chicken, and a couple other “
“This ramen shop is really excellent. The noodles are made in house and fresh. The broth is really well made as well and has excellent flavor.I had the takoyaki as an appetizer and felt it was a little strange that it had egg salad as a base. I still felt that the dish was really good.I asked for no spicy sauce in my dish and they were able to accommodate.I would say that my only complaint was that it was loud and had fairly loud music. But I feel that I'm also just more sensitive to loud environments.Overall the Ramen is great and I highly recommend going here for some really fresh and nice ramen.Dietary restrictions: They asked about any dietary restrictions.“
“Some of friends recommend me this place. I am so excited to try and it isn’t regret. The decorations are so lovely with traditional Japanese Sakura and clean … i am so surprising that they have beep spicy noodles soup that i haven’t get for long time .i am so happy that i try it and it makes me don’t disappointed … also they service here very good … one of they lady who is very professional serve us …she gave us the Mochi ice cream for my dessert . it tastes super delicious. Everything was perfect and highly recommended for this place“
“Small, quaint hidden gem. Food is AMAZING!!! Reasonably priced. Everything is cooked super fast and brought out to your table. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Mixed croud- young adults and families. Fun pop culture decor all throughout.“
“Searching for a replacement Ramen restaurant in our area, we found Boru today. Quaint little restaurant next to the cinema.Food was excellent and authentic; service was superb. Even though the place could use a facelift, it was very well kept and most importantly... CLEAN.“
“Best Mexican in the DMV. The people are nice and the food is nicer. Was serious comfort food that warmed my soul! Will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Cheese only optionsParking: Has a parking lot in front but it's small. Total about 10 parks, so you're more likely to find street parking“
“Good prices, good food, and wonderful service! We went here since it was conveniently right next door to a concert at the 9:30 club. But it is definitely one of my favorite places in the DC area now!Prices were extremely reasonable for the DC area, it ended up being ~$25 per person with a happy hour drink AND a desert per person with the ramen. Everything was amazing, the drinks were excellent, if a little dangerous. The ramen was, of course, amazing, 100% get the spice/veg bomb, one is enough for ~2 people and it adds a perfectly spicy touch. The deserts were also perfect, their new fried dessert bao was super unique and I'd go back for that on its own.The service was super nice and knowledgeable and really added to the whole meal (Thank you Eden).“
“I come here quite often when I am in the area to grab take out or get a delivery. Everyone working there is very nice and helpful and the food is fantastic as well. The fatty tuna is delicious and reminded me of the ones that I got in Tokyo and at Tsukiji market. This is my go-to place for sushi ? So if you are looking for a quality meal, this is your place!“
“Food wasn't bad... but I get really weird feelings when a Japanese restaurant misspells simple Japanese in their logo... I can't be the first to notice that they spelled ramen "んめーら" effectively "nmeera".“
“Best Sashimi and Chirashi don that you can find in the area. I ordered it almost once a week. I also shared it on my social media and recommend Kizuna to anyone who loves sashimi. The food is awesome! Chirashi is far beyond my expectation. Thanks for making such incredible chirashi don!!!!! Ramen is also tasty!“
“Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious service was good only one girl working but But service was not lacking it takes a while to get your rolls and your orders but it's worth the weight very delicious and the prices were very reasonable“
“First time visiting & it was good. Dining in with beer & sake:Takoyaki: exceptional, definitely order them if visiting.Shrimp Shumai: good.Gyoza: tried steamed and probably be better to order fried.Rolls: Philadelphia & Salmon with Avocado - both good.Suggestions: Takoyaki & Shumai, any rolls. Could skip Gyoza.General information: this place is pretty busy, so you may want to make a reservation for a party. Seating consists of dining room & outside patio. Place itself across from Whole Foods. Parking garage is 5 minutes walk.Pricewise: about $85 with 3 appetizers to share, 2 rolls, sake & beer.“
“Nishiki Ramen is a culinary gem that transports you straight to the streets of Tokyo with its authentic flavors and vibrant atmosphere. The moment you step in, the warm welcome by the staff sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. The takoyaki here is a revelation – perfectly crispy on the outside while being delightfully gooey on the inside, each bite is a burst of umami goodness, complemented by the tangy sauce and delicate bonito flakes that dance on top. It's a must-try appetizer that primes your palate for more.Moving on to the kaarage, Nishiki Ramen's rendition of this classic Japanese fried chicken dish is nothing short of perfection. The chicken is marinated to the bone, ensuring each piece is succulent and flavorful. The golden-brown crust is audibly crisp, making it an irresistible treat that pairs wonderfully with their array of dipping sauces. But the star of the show is undoubtedly their eel dish. The eel is grilled to a smoky tenderness, glazed with a sweet and savory sauce that enhances its natural flavors without overpowering them. It's a delicate balance that Nishiki Ramen masters, offering a dish that's both comforting and luxurious.Whether you're a ramen aficionado or a curious foodie, Nishiki Ramen's dedication to quality and flavor shines through in every dish. It's a culinary experience that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even left your seat. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in the best of Japanese comfort food!“
“Absolutely some of the best ramen I ever had. Every element was flavorful. I also enjoyed the pork bun and the cold sesame noodles (the pickled ginger was such a nice touch!). This was my first time eating from her, but it definitely won’t be my last!“
“I came here around 9 pm on a weekday night because I was starving and craving some Japanese food. This place is technically located inside Kusshi Sushi, so you would just be seated regularly there and can order food off their menu. For Donburi Dojo and Ramen House, the food items are listed on the Silver Spring online menu (but you can still order them here at the Bethesda location!). I ordered a pork katsu don. It blew me away with how good it was and totally surpassed my expectations. All of the katsu pieces were cooked well and mixed great with the egg and onions. The sauce was my favorite part because of how flavorful it was, ultimately creating a slightly sweet dish that completely hit the spot for me. It's easily the best katsu don that I've had in the DMV area!“
“Revisited for Jiro Ramen.I increased the rating one star. They did good job of making Jiro ramen. The taste was good and it is good to enjoy Jiro ramen here in this area. Very rare opportunity. However, I ordered Mt. Fuji Jiro which costs about 10 dollars more than the normal Jiro, and I was expecting that Mt. Fuji Jiro would be equivalent to Jiro with 'Mashi Mashi' vegetables etc. however, Mt. Fuji Jiro's portion was quite disappointing. It would have been better ordering the normal Jiro with adding some toppings like bean sprouts etc. It's way pricy than Yume Wo Katare in Boston. Considering all these, yes I increased one star rating but it would not be enough to give 5-star. I wish they will offer another Jiro days and bring true Jiro spirit here (Jirorians (Jiro enthusiast) love and enjoy 'Mashi Mashi' portion)***********************************It is ok taste, not very bad. This shop does not have a parking so you should park at a parking lot nearby. The service was ok. It is a bit pricy but understandable because of its location. It says a real Japanese ramen which probably true, but I, born and raised in Japan, have never heard Zao ramen when I lived in Japan. I looked it up on google and it looks like Zao ramen (蔵王ラーメン) in Japan is not that popular (the rating is like 3 out of 5) and I totally agree with the rating (I do not know if this Zao in Bethesda is related to Zao ramen in Japan though).“
