“I keep going back to this place for jerk chicken wrap and fries. They always have chicken (delicious) and beef patties (never tried). The pasta they make is awesome; taste and portion wise. They carry soft drinks and desserts. A cozy and ckean dining area too. Please check their hours online before you visit.“
“The service at this restaurant is exceptional, from the moment you walk in to the very end. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that their customers are taken care of, earning a solid 10/10 rating with service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with soft lighting and a simple yet classy interior design spread out over two levels. We tried a variety of cocktails and starters, including cassava fritters, pork paw, and jerk wings - my personal favorite. Other starters such as Aloo and Channa Pies and Callaloo soup were also delicious. For my entree, I opted for the oxtail with coconut rice and plantains, although it was tasty, I have had better oxtail elsewhere and found the flavor to be a bit underwhelming.Overall, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try as the service and ambiance alone make it worth the visit.“
“Ridiculously good. Lively, super fun, delicious food, friendly staff and super busy. I'd be here every month if I lived closer. Visited from out of state and a friend suggested we go. We went last minute, we didn't have reservations and it was a 45 min wait. Absolutely worth the wait. Loved it.“
“Wow! Amazing food! Our server was fantastic. She did a great job of explaining the menu and made some fantastic recommendations. I loved the guava and cheese empanadas. They could be a great dessert. The mojitos were delicious and packed with mint. I recommend the pernil but I enjoyed all the pork options. I’ll be back to continue sampling the menu!“
“Came here on a whim because I had a taste for some Caribbean food and lamb chops, and I was not disappointed. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the staff and the premises was nice and clean. I ordered the lamb chops, rice and peas, and greens and cabbage. I also ordered the deviled eggs with shrimp as an appetizer. Though the price was a bit high it was definitely worth it. They brought my appetizer out before the entree which I must say is important to me. The deviled eggs were amazing! I got 5 of them and good sized shrimp with jerk sauce. I could eat a dozen of these!! Next the lamb chops. They were okay, tons of flavors the only thing I can say is I wish they were cooked medium/medium rare but that may be on me for not asking. These were cooked closer to medium well, which wasn't bad but not my preference. But the rice and peas were great as was the greens and cabbage. The portion sizes are good (not too much and not too little) Overall, my meal was satisfying and I would return. The staff made sure I was good (also clean bathroom!) Check this place out!“
“I ordered the Curry Chicken, rice and peas with plantains and I was pleasantly surprised at how DELICIOUS the food was. Everything was fresh, hot, tasty and so full of authentic Jamaican flavor. The food was Excellent, it was so good I could not stop eating. I have not had Jamaican food this good in many years! I have definitely found a gem and will be visiting or ordering often. I highly recommend D&D Caribbean Kitchen, you will not be disappointed. Thank you D&D, you guys set the bar high. My rating is 100 Stars ?“
“Whether you're craving classic Jamaican jerk or want to brunch out on curry, Negril is the place for real deal island flavor. Be sure to order their Sorrel Hibiscus/Ginger drink, it’s delicious and perfectly accompanies your meal. Negril is an absolute gem for those craving a delicious taste of Jamaica without leaving town. Highly recommended!“
“I tried the curry wings and ?️GOOD LAWWWWWDY MY LEGS GOT WEAK‼️ That HOMEMADE sauce will introduce you to LOVE! If you haven’t, this place is definitely worth a try. This spot is like the song you skipped and later found out it was fire?. When you bite into the wings you get a bold boost of flavor that rhythms through your body. Then we get to the spicy part that’s spicy but still enjoyable! Please Support Bleu Iguana, ITS WORTH YOUR TIME AND BELLY! ???“
“Their food is really good the wait is not too bad and the prices are reasonable this is my go-to when I don't feel like cooking at dinner jerk chicken sandwich is fulling reasonably priced and it tastes pretty good.Kid-friendliness: Nice spot.“
“Had a Jamaican Pattie once over 20 yrs ago and it made a huge impact on me then. You can taste the heat from the scotch bonnet which at the time, was the most delicious and spiciest thing I had had ever. Today’s brought back those memories. We also ordered the chix curry and oxtail stew, which all came in perfectly made. This might just become our weekly lunches delivery staple!“
“Delicious and very friendly service! I had jerk chicken (spicy) which came with rice & beans, cabbage, plus I ordered a side of plantains and a bottle of sorrel (hibiscus/ginger drink). All were excellent. I was going to try a seafood dish but those are made fresh to order and take about 20 min whereas the other dishes come out immediately. Next time I'll have to order ahead for fish! btw I accidentally dropped a tip in a coffee mug and Andrene was very gracious about it! ☺️“
“I stopped by this bar on a Saturday night and the atmosphere and vibes were amazing, 2nd floor was a cool lounge area and the bartenders were on point especially JC! His energy and attentiveness was great as-well as the food and drinks recommended were 10/10. He recommended a Smokey old fashioned which was delicious as-well as the Jerk chicken which went CRAZY. I will definitely be back for the food and drinks and especially for the bartender JC!!“
“Great Authentic Trini bread, food, pastries and drinks. Love everything. I live far away but go at least once per month to pick up my goodies: 2 butter bread, 2 currants roll, 2 slices of cassava pone, 3+ beef patties, 3+ aloo pies, 3+ doubles with all the fixings, etc. Trevor and his wife are great hostesses and the staff are friendly and hospitable.Parking: 1st come 1st serve street metered parking. 4 - 5 spots“
“It's carry out & delivery only place. Menu is basically 5 main platters with choice of chicken, goat or fish (shrimp).Tried Curry chicken with side rice & steamed cabbage. Portion is good with plenty of flavor. Pricewise, with tips it will set you for $20.Recommend: curry crazy - if willing to experiment, goat. Steamed cabbage as side.Parking: On street & behind the place, but busy.“
“Negril offers a taste of Jamaica with its standout jerk chicken dish, bursting with succulent flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance complement the authentic culinary experience, making it a must-visit for lovers of Caribbean cuisine.“
“I've only had problem with food from Jam Dugie one time, all the rest 99% of the times have been great. Once you start to eat it, it's hard to stop for leftovers. They can be slow at times and get backed up. But what good Caribbean place isn't?“
“The drinks were great overall, and the food was delicious. I wouldn't call it a casual resturant because the prices were higher than those of a typical casual restaurant. The decoration is beautiful, and the staff are amazing. Our waitress was Elissa, and she was so kind and professional.“
“The place has some of the best food in the area, no doubt about it. Some of my favorite at the cassava leafs and the brown stew chicken. It is a Caribbean inspired business so. The snappy attitude at Caribbean restaurants infuses a delightful sass into the dining experience, adding a burst of vibrant flavors. While they may occasionally forget your drink, it only adds to the charm, turning every visit into a memorable adventure.“
“I have visited several African restaurants in DMV. De.Raanch restaurants and Bar is absolutely bed when it comes real restaurants serving food.I heard so much about De Rannch: The pioneer of authentic African restaurants restaurants. We came here today to find out for ourselves. Upon entering the door, we were greeted with a smiling face by the lady who was behind the counter..She then walked up to the dinning room and sat us down .The menu is a light booklet with all the motherland foods. I decided to go for the hard to find items: Ishiehu, Nkobi, ugba, and bitter leaf soup. My friend ordered abach( African salad) to our surprise all these items were brought to our table hot and fresh. We looked at each other and said this is it. The management is serious about thier business. No stories just good authentic food. The environment is very clean. No smells, tables are shining. The restrictions are clean. This is what I cal restaurants. I strongly recommend De Ranch for the restaurants to treat your out of town guests.“
“Wow. Amazing flavor. The jerk chicken was mind blowing smoky goodness and paired perfectly with sweet habanero sauce. Everything else was excellent - rice and peas, cabbage stir fry, candied yams, collard greens, reggae rice, fried plantains, and porridge.“
“Thanks to Yelp for this perfect find! It was walking distance from my hotel in Navy Yard & im sooo glad because we are soooooo good! Had to walk it off after, LOL! Our server was a cool & funny Nigerian man that was very helpful + attentive. They had great music going from when we walked up and even after we left! It was a beautiful day so we opted to sit outside. Food: 12/10!!! Jerk Wings: We tore it up before we could even get a picture! Sooo good, well sized & full of flavor but not overpowering. Oxtail & Butter Beans: I'm ready to return for this plate! Fall off the bone oxtails Escovitch Red Snapper: This was really good! Cooked very very well, as if it were from the islands. Jerk Pork Belly: this was different but good, and fatty. Collard Greens: 3/10-- not a fan, I think the coconut milk in it threw us off. Drinks: Piña Colada: the most refreshing & perfectly crafted piña colada I've ever had! I know I've said this before about another place but Bammy's is now #1!! Sooooo good my friend said forget her drink and ordered one Pain Killer: Strong but tasty. This is a must when I return to DC!!“
“All I can say is that the food was so delicious. I enjoy every bite of it. I got the Brown Stew Snapper with the yellow rice and greens. Let me tell you, that "Soursop" Juice is fantastic. Please try it. I will be back for more. It's a 5 Star for me. Peace & Blessing.“
“The staff at this location was good, but the quality of the food was a problem. I ordered 2 salads and the lettuce on the salads was old and the spring mix and spinach were wilted. We had to pick a lot of it out. The meat however was flavorfully and tasty. The 2 side orders were tasty as well. As far as atmosphere, the floors were sticky and needed a good cleaning. The glass partition also needed to be cleaned. Overall, a little cleaning and attention to the food would have changed the whole experience.“
“I love Just Jerk. I've been going there for years! The food is good and they stay busy. My favorite is the curry chicken and the jerk chicken sandwiches. My husband loves the stew chicken. Call ahead if you can. I definitely recommend this business.“
“This is worth the 20 minute drive. The owner was extremely kind. The food is excellent. The customer service was great (IYKYK, sometimes our people be kinda mean lol). The fresh juices are infused with ginger and delicious. And the curry is made to order!Prices are fair too!!!#supportblackbusiness!“
“I don't usually leave reviews but I had to for this amazing Trini restaurant! I also don't understand why there is a single negative review because this classic, mom & pop Caribbean restaurant (so rare these days, we have to support !!! ) is a TRUE GEM in DC and is nothing short of... AMAZING!!!! My mom is half Trinidadian and it has been way too long since we had a real, authentic, delicious roti and other Trini food. And wow, were we impressed with Teddy's Roti Shop's food!!! :)We were immediately greeted by Hannah who is so genuinely nice and sweet, which is also hard to find these days - real customer service. She was warm, friendly, patient and took my order and my parent's order with a smile. Thank you for your hospitality, Hannah! :) Love the old school, no frills vibe because that usually means the food is good and there are no gimmicks. Feels like you're walking down memory lane. The restaurant is clean and well kept. A few tables and chairs but you come here for the food, right???Now on to the roti..............THE DOUGH ALONE is enough for a 5 star review!!!! The roti dough was soooooo soft and just perfection. I got boneless chicken for mine and the ratio of curried potatoes, juicy chicken even for white meat, and the flavor was just delicious!!! I've had roti that was dry and just nasty and this was NOT that! I'm not exaggerating. It was absolutely amazing. We all devoured our food with our eyes closed and a smile on our faces. And the cabbage????? lol. SOOOOO flavorful just for some simple cabbage! Devoured that, too!!! And you have to get the chicken and beef patties! Omg! There is curried potato in the chicken patty - enough said!!Run, don't walk to Teddy's Roti Shop!!! If you want to help support one of the few, rare, classic Caribbean restaurants left in DC, please do so because it's sad to see so many of them go. Delicious, delicious, delicious Trini food and happy, warm hospitality - this is your spot! Thanks again, Hannah and to all of you at Teddy's! We will be back soon and often!! :)“
“This is a no-frills place and kind of funky, which I like. We arrived on a Friday evening around 8 pm and it was rather busy. It took 30 minutes to make our food, menawhile we sat at a table listening to the vibrant music being played downstairs and the different music eminating from the bar upstairs. When our food was ready, it came in plastic containers with plastic utensils. We did tell them we were eating in, and I do wish they developed the ability to provide re-usable tableware to save the environment. Aside from that, the food was terrific, our conversation was easy, we did not have to shout over too loud music. It is one of favourite places in the area for Jamaican food.“
