Oh, and when I got back to the hotel, I found an incredible burger in a box that I carried back to the hotel without opening. That was breakfast! Will be back.“

“5 out of 5 stars, this three story restaurant is interestingly unnoticeable but I’m glad I was invited here to experience it. It sits next to an open air lot which is definitely needed on H St. The food was amazing, I had the sea bass, plantains, salad, and cassava fries (can’t remember what they were called) and everything was so good. The staff was efficient and friendly and the chef came out to speak with us and it amazing to see that he’s native DC and young he is. I definitely recommend this place for dinner. I wish I paused to take pictures but maybe next time.“

“Absolutely welcome place for dinner with kids. The steak was the best! This place where you want to come back again and again!Parking: Across the street free parking, but it is difficult to find a slot daytime.Kid-friendliness: Absolutely welcome kids! I was with 3 kids. And everyone could choose what he wanted, not spicy food. The steak was very soft and the kids loved it!“

“Our waitress Isabella was so wonderful and sweet! We came for my brothers 21st birthday and she gave us amazing service! She was so good about our allergies and special requests. The food was good, seafood tower was really nice, scallops and risotto was quite salty. But the steak ravioli that Isabella suggested was amazing!“

“Absolutely amazing experience! I almost never write reviews, but this place was so incredible that I had to this time.We went on a Friday night and did the 7-course tasting menu and drink pairing at the chef's counter. I'm sure it's not part of the experience every time, but it actually turned into about a 9-course tasting because they served some extras not on the menu that they were excited to share. Every aspect was incredible.Starting off, before we even arrived, with personalized contact from Brian to ensure that they knew everything from our names, if it was special occasion, dietary restrictions, etc. It was clear they wanted to make sure it was a special experience for us before we even stepped foot in the restaurant. On arrival the environment was incredible and the whole staff was friendly and consistently went out of their way to make the evening memorable. The food was, of course, incredible. But even more enjoyable was the detailed explanation of both the food we were being served and the wine choices for pairing. We learned a lot about how they prepared the food, where the ingredients were locally sourced from, etc. Not only was it informative, but their true passion for the quality of what they were serving really shined through.Just as top notch as the food, the service was incredible. They were true professionals that knew exactly how to strike the balance between being highly attentive without interfering with our date. The pacing of the servings was absolutely spot on. We neither had to wait between courses nor had courses stacking up. Everything was executed flawlessly.Hands down the best dining experience I've ever had. Great food, great environment, and absolutely exceptional service. We will be back for sure and will enthusiastically recommend it to anyone seeking a top-notch dining experience. Extremely well done!“

“Today, we were incredibly fortunate to visit a unique restaurant, Monocle, located on Capitol Hill. We initially chose it due to its proximity to our hotel, but it turned out to be a true "Washingtonian gem." Opened in 1960, this restaurant has been operated by the same family ever since. The menu is concise, which we believe highlights the culinary excellence presented in merely five dishes. We were in search of "authentic American steaks from real American beef from real American cows." What we received far exceeded our expectations. Both steaks we ordered were exquisitely prepared to perfection. We both agreed that these were the best steaks we've ever had the pleasure of eating in our lives. #MasterpieceAs if the meal itself wasn't enough, our server, Marinos Apostolopoulos, provided us with a genuine journey through the history of this establishment. We are deeply grateful!Given its location near the Capitol, the restaurant has been visited by at least half of American politicians over the last 60 years, including Presidents Nixon, Kennedy, Bush, and Clinton. Celebrities like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, among other incredible individuals, have also frequented this place. The number of VIPs and their dedications displayed in their own photos hanging on every wall is truly astonishing. One of the servers celebrated his 50th work anniversary here two months ago with a surprise party for 250 people, an event that was featured on the front page of the Washington Post, which we had the opportunity to read. The place is beautiful, with incredibly friendly service and excellent food. The wonderful experiences we had will stay with us forever. It's worth traveling for moments like these. We highly recommend it and would love to return someday.“

“The food here is AMAZING. I'm actually glad this place is far from me and on the expensive side because if it was closer and cheaper I'd be eating here constantly. My table got the waygu egg rolls, Mac and cheese, broccolini, Hawaiian steak, jerk crab cakes, and the jerk lollipop chicken. All of it was on point. Drinks are pretty expensive for what you get. That was probably the only disappointment. Music is a little loud for my liking but it is a minor nit in an absolutely amazing experience.“

“Cute spot located very close to union station. Came in for dinner on a week night and the place was decently busy. The server was kind and attentive. For food, I had the lamb shawarma which was very tasty and actually the perfect amount of food, although the pita bread that came with was pretty dry. My friend got the lamb sliders which also looked pretty good!“

“My first time here. It's been a while since I had been out so for water me and my friends came here. The ambiance is cute. Very barrel like place. Especially if you are a whiskey drinker. The bottomless mimosas were a hit. Our waiter Mason was awesome. He assisted us with our many dietary restrictions lol. The manager even came over and chatted with us. I would definitely come back. Oh and we finished brunch off with a whiskey flight!!!! Yes a good time was had by ALL......“

“Greeted warmly and treated like a VIP all evening. Chose the three course menu-all wonderful options. “We popped in to the Hawk n Dove after a busy morning touring the Capitol Building. We were greeted at the door in a reasonable amount of time. It looked like the restaurant was full, but they were able to get us a table near the kitchen - which is always fun since you can watch the buzz of the kitchen and wait staff hustling out all of the food orders. There is a lot going on here - busy bar, sports, news and trivia televised on screens above the bar. Witty T-shirts and memorabilia hanging on the walls. Generous portions, and upscale healthy food options in addition to the normal pub grub. We noticed that other tables had opted for salads and flatbreads so we did too. The personal sized flatbread was the perfect amount for one person. Nice combination of toppings and a warm soft crust. Salads were perfectly seasoned and dressed. Everyone in my party was happy with their lunches. Definitely would recommend.“

“It was our first out of 2 nights in DC and I wanted to have high-quality, memorable, delicious food and that's what The Duck & the Peach provided! The ambiance felt artsy and people were dressed casually but the food was fancy and expensive. My partner and I got the duck feast and everything was tasty, particularly the duck. We are duck lovers who eat duck a lot especially from Chinese restaurants and this duck was so tender and the skin was crispy the way I like it. We also had the mint ice cream bar for dessert which was super unique, almost savory and wrapped in an edible covering but I couldn't place what the covering was made out of (maybe white chocolate)? It was an expensive meal but we also took home left overs and we would come here again!“

“Great little find. Came in for breakfast with my husband. He got a build your own omelette and I got the French Eggs Benedict. My husband enjoyed his omelette and I fully enjoyed my French Eggs Benedict! It was seasoned perfectly and I liked the French bread twist instead of an English muffin. The staff were friendly and our food came out quick. The decor is a bit dated but it gave it character. The pictures on the walls were fun to look at while we waited for our food. Definitely a great spot for breakfast!“

“The previous reviews don’t do this establishment justice. We were away and staying on Landover, MD looking for a place to eat. This was listed on the Marriott in room entertainment system, which isn’t always great places to eat. Well finally this one was. We were greeted by Mallory who was very nice. When we entered the restaurant live Jazz was being played while we waited. We were seated in under 5 minutes. Our waitress Laysia C was courteous and attentive. The hiccup we had was there were no beers on tap which the menu had several. We started with the cornbread which had a great kick to it. My son and I had the crispy chicken sandwiches which were very good and my wife had the rattlesnake pasta minus the smoked provolone which was the right move, it was excellent. My daughter had the rotisserie chicken which she loved as well. I finished the night off right with a key lime pie. We were very impressed with the service, atmosphere and the food.Kid-friendliness: Kids had the crispy chicken and rotisserie chicken“

“My colleague lives in the area and invited me for a drink and I had never heard of the spot. It was chill around happy hour, kinda empty. Classic dive bar. The beer was cold. By the second drink the place started to fill and it seemed like the male/female ratio was very lopsided to the female persuasion and at first I was like “cool”, and then I reeeally took it all in and started to wonder if I was at a gay bar (which is still totally cool). Maybe it was the vendor selling “Dyke” merchandise, or the fact that for once I was able to enjoy a drink without being bothered by strangers or crowded by yuppies. Either way the atmosphere was conducive to minding my own business and having a good time. The outdoor area is great. The upstairs had vendors with various art and wares they made. I have since learned that the event was actually “Dew Drop’s Dyke Party”. I would gladly come to another Tuesday “Dyke Party” if it’s always so chill (albeit not very diverse). The downstairs also had a bar and around 8 there was Christmas-themed live music of the R&B/Soul/Jazz persuasion. This crowd was substantially more eclectic and in my subjective views couldn’t be categorized as homogenous. Free live music in DC is unheard of so I was extremely gracious. My only complaint is that this is a dive in the heart of the dmv that doesn’t serve National Bohemian. But I have since learned that they allow dogs so I won’t hold it against them.“

“Yes! I love the concept. I love how it’s a hand made patty and the burger was cooked perfectly. In addition, you have an option to add items to your burger if you do the build your burger option. You can also choose their preselected choices which look really good. I chose to add sautéed onions, bacon, and Italian sausage. I will say although the Italian sausage was good, I wouldn’t add it again; it didn’t hurt the burger overall. You choose your seasoning (I chose basic), sauce (house bbq), lettuce and tomato. I also ordered the seasoned fries (garlic parmesan). I was curious so I asked for the spicy ranch. It was pretty good.“

“If you haven’t tried Cluckster’s you’re missing out! I was sad when they closed down the College Park location a few years ago and was to find this one!The boneless wings in nuclear sauce are my number one go-to menu option. Don’t let the name scare you, it is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, probably the same ”heat” as traditional buffalo wings, but a ton more flavor.Their customer service is great, the last few times I have visited Rob has been there. Last time I placed a phone order, he greeted me by my name as I walked in the door, try getting that at another fast food place!I would call it more fast casual than fast food, as they prepare your order in real time, and the wings are always fresh! Dining in is also an option and their eating area is clean and well maintained.Overall 5 stars across the board. Go visit Rob and try some boneless nuclear wings!“

“Yesterday, I met up with a friend from out of town here. I had never been, but needless to say I've stumbled upon another pub to put on my list of places to grab a drink in the district. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy and intimate. I don't know if they have an expansion, but the bar I sat at is pretty small and there are *some* tables, but I'd argue the seating might be limited during peak season / hours. We didn't order any of the cocktails as we kept mostly to basic girl orders (tequila soda), but I saw a couple of them getting made and they looked really good -- especially their moscow mule. After a while, we decided to order food instead of going somewhere else. I got the pulled pork and my friend got the classic burger with everything on it; we also shared an order of half fries / half rings. I will start by saying this place is definitely on the lower end of DC prices, but still expect to spend at least $15 on a sandwich. That said, the pulled pork was flavorful, juicy, plentiful, and I did not feel cheated. My friend's burger also looked VERY yummy: it was a thicker patty, so if you prefer smashburgers this might not be your vibe. The fries and rings we had were good, but the standout were the fries -- they were a handcut, thicker wedge style that was crispy yet super fluffy on the interior. These are a must order. It's worth noting that this place is an LGBTQ+ establishment and apparently a mainstay in the queer community and local music scene -- the bartender told us about how Roberta Flack got her start there! I'm not normally in Capitol Hill, but now I got a place if I'm in that borough. Had a great time.“

“These are the best sandwiches I've had in town, hands down. The brisket and roast beef are delicious, and definitely appreciate something that's made by the people serving it. Either their menu favorites or to build your own, there are enough options for anything you can think of. The serving of hand cut fries are large, and actually less expensive than fast food. There's a counter/bar to sit at, and self serve seating if you want to stay. The only drawback is it's pretty expensive, so while you do get what you pay for it's a little steep for me to go often.“

“Very delicious sandwich and good fries. My complaint is with the service. We ordered online and picked up the food. We paid extra .50 cents for each lettuce on each butger and got only one burger had lettuce. I also asked for Rooster sauce and honey mustard but instead received 6 honey mustard sauces. This was my first experience and I would eat here again for the food quality. Hopefully this was a one off.“

“4 stars-Why only 4? I don't mind tipping as long as the service is good and the food is great but when you set it up for an automatic 20% gratuity no matter what you order, I think that's a bit much (especially if service/food is bad). Thankfully, the service and food were good so I'll let it slide. But be warned, you will receive the automatic 20% added to your check. My husband ordered one beer and it was added, so it doesn't matter you get, it's added. Now let's get to why you're here (lol)! The restaurant is located inside the Harborside hotel and they offer breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. You may also order room service until 11pm I believe. They have a nice setup and bar area to enjoy and fellowship with friends. It was a dreary and rainy day so we opted to stay in for breakfast. We were seated rather quickly as it was not busy at all. The sever was very nice and friendly and assisted us with any questions. So, we came in for breakfast but found out they actually serve brunch at 11am, so we hung around until that time. We did opt for a few plated items to hold us over until brunch. We had seasoned potatoes, blueberry muffins and a bagel. This along with coffee and mimosas kept up busy until brunch started. Let me tell you the brunch did not disappoint! It was a bit pricey (34.99 pp) but worth every penny. Keep in mind the 20% is added. The Brunch is a buffet and I normally don't eat buffets but we were the first people there so that eased our mind (beat the crowd before people came with all the touching and breathing over stuff) the food is located in the roller style pans that close so that's a plus. This particular brunch offered so many different options it's hard to name them but they do provide fresh fruit, desserts and an omelette station as well. It's definitely worth the money, however I would suggest getting there early.“

“I blindly put the orange sauce all over my taco papusas and now my mouth is screaming.I came here craving tamales and also ordered the steak taco papusas. The tamales were alright. But I was looking for more of a SoCal Mexican tamale and these were not it. They're small sweet corn tamales with Salvadoran sour cream on the side and they do make for a good appetizer. But definitely not a savory meal and that's okay. The taco papusas were molten hot and delicious. I'm stuffed. The first one I had I poured the green salsa and lime over, but I couldn't pick it up, so I dug in with a fork. It was great. The second one however... Without tasting the orange sauce, I dumped it all over and took a bite. It's not an intense flavor, but boy oh boy does it burn. I almost wasted my horchata trying to cool my mouth off to eat. 10/10 would burn again. The cashier definitely didn't speak English well. And I don't speak Spanish well. Possibly in the future, I'll order online to make it less confusing for everyone involved. Regardless we managed to get my order in which was clearly displayed on the screen. It worked out. It did not help that I kept changing my mind on items halfway through.I'm definitely ordering from here again when I'm done feeling like a stuffed balloon.“

“I'll give this review as a New Yorker now residing in DC and an avid food lover. First, this place is a gem and I can see why some Yelpers expressed the joy felt when visiting not only Market Lunch but Eastern Market. It reminded me of the old Downtown Brooklyn in NYC, before unidentifiable changes. This place promotes small businesses, most of who offer authentic pastries, meat selections, spices, and even homemade pasta. If you haven't visited Eastern Market then you're missing out on a small yet beautiful place. That said, please don't come here expecting immediate access to seating nor look for anything other than lemonade, sweet tea, and sodas to drink. They offered coffee but I passed on purchasing because the creamer stood outside on the counter and could have been placed in a small refrigerated area. Also, going back to my New York roots, this place reminded me of a deli, bodega, corner store, small shop where I ordered some of the best sandwiches and breakfast specials...if you know, you know *Jlo voice LOL* Anyway, back to being serious. Don't come here expecting seating and fancy fixing, it's a deli styled setup where you order with the cashier and wait for your number to be called. While waiting, I highly advise you to look for seating and if you find it, grab it! Or else you'll be standing for a long time. Service: it's fast paced so don't expect to take your time. Immediately look at the menu beforehand and know that the cashier is going to be moving quickly. Also, they do accept cards and cash so either will do. Beverages: nothing much to choose from but what we did enjoy was their tart and delicious lemonade. If they bottled this, I would purchase it! No questions asked. It was such a delicious, sweet, and tarty party! lol Food: I ordered the blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Now, the blueberries were missing, I actually counted 6, but my boyfriend had way more in his pancakes and noticed that they all stood in the center of the pancake and were not evenly distributed. Aside from that disproportioned blueberries, this pancake won on buttery flavor and lightness. Paired with a side of crispy bacon (3 to be exact) my boyfriend meanwhile had 6 on his plate...not sure how they divided things when you're paying the SAME price?! But, I was pleasantly impressed with my pancakes and bacon and would definitely stop by again. Price: total for 2 orders of blueberry pancake (2 each) 2 orders of bacon (one order with 3 and the other with 6 strips) 2 orders of lemonade-total $36...not bad considering that this might be the price for breakfast for one at some locations. Advice: if you plan on enjoying the breakfast there, please arrive before 10am. We were there before 10 am and after a small wait, we finally got our hands on seating. Then, by 10:10am, the crowd started rushing in and the line began growing. I noticed people struggling to find seating (cafeteria style-long counter) resulting in them taking their orders to go. Would I return? Absolutely! I'd return before 10am and probably take my order to go. Would I order the pancakes again? I would probably try the buckwheat blueberry's next time or simply stick with plain because the low provision of blueberries didn't make me feel as if I was eating a blueberry pancake. Overall, support small businesses and support community favorites, I surely will!“
“What a great addition to Capitol Hill-- delicious food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. I'm going to get some friends together soon to check out the upstairs open air patio (with heater if needed). So far I've enjoyed the salmon entre and the delicious--and authentic--lobster roll. There's lots more on the menu for me to check out!“
