“I had a great time on 08/27/2023 sipping on a mock tail and listening to an amazing Saxophone player, Eddie Baccus Jr. Steve, the bar server was great! People were all having a great time! It was not crowded. I heard the Sax player from another area in MGM and the rich tones drew me to the upper level to “Lobby Bar”! So glad I stopped by! Great musician. Great sound! Great repertoire!“

“Visited this place in DC last weekend with family and it's the best! The pre-dinner bar experience was delightful with excellent martinis. The waiter made it special by asking about our celebration. With a party of seven, we tried different entree's and everyone was impressed with the quality and portions size. The waiter was helpful with menu suggestions. We felt right at home 10/10, definitely coming back !“

“I have not only travelled to Thailand, but studied Thai cuisine and also attended cooking classes. This place is the REAL DEAL!!!! Not your run of the mill pad thai place. More northern cuisine if you are familiar with it, think Chang Mai. Everything is out of this world, great bar and drinks, friendly and warm staff that attends to your every need.“

“I am truly a pick eater so anytime I'm able to do a full tasting menu with no worries about having eating restrictions I jump at the opportunity. Oyster Oyster has such a carefully crafted menu for vegans and vegetarians alike. The only element that is not vegan is the oyster they serve as one of the tasting elements. Other than that, it is truly a vegan person's heaven. So much fresh vegetables cooked in ways I literally could not have dreamed up. The Gnocchi mushroom dish served with the broccoli bread was my absolute favorite part of the menu. The bread was served with marigold butter that absolutely blew my mind. Do yourself a favor and also try the Non Alcoholic tasting menu to accompany your dish as it was such a great way to get more fresh juices and tonics to accompany the meal. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone and a round of applause to their excellent service as well.“

“Food was great as usual. We had the mixed grill appetizer which is plenty for a meal. The flavors are amazing. And everything was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the greens and eggplant. Service was attentive but not too much. The overall experience was terrific and we will be back! Do yourself a favor and try this restaurant!“

“This is a gem of a spot in Cleveland Park! I discovered it one day and now I’m a regular and have started bringing my friends. Who all have said they wanna come back. The restaurant is small, but intimate and the food is amazing. The Scallops are a must try. Every time I’ve gone and sat at the bar and have always had an amazing experience. Kyle & Victor are so knowledgeable on their wines and just make the experience 10x better. The playful pairings on the menu are also another highlight and a lot of fun. Definitely a spot worth checking out!“

“Checked out San Lorenzo for the first time the other night - I have been in DC for years, but just recently moved to the Shaw neighborhood and had heard good things about this spot. Christina the GM was super friendly and helpful, making me feel very welcome and the bartender I spoke to, Efron, gave some great menu recommendations. The Seafood Linguine was fantastic! Will absolutely be back.“

“I had my birthday breakfast at The Greenhouse in DC. I ordered the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes. ? These were fluffy, not too sweet, not too 'chocolately', and the banana on the top was glazed with crystalized sugar ..mmm.. Just right for me. The staff was friendly, too. Overall a pleasant experience. ??Kid-friendliness: I saw a few tables with families/grandparents and children sitting together.“

“St Vincent is consistently a slice of heaven here on earth and my favorite “good in the hood”. The service, ambiance, bites and vino are unmatched. And now that there is live music in the garden, it is in a league of its own. The pop up with the Eritrean chef a few weeks ago was a pleasant little twist and I look forward to more of these curated experiences. This is my go to happy place—-home away from home and I cannot recommend it enough!!! Great date place or just gathering spot with your friends.“

“Second time to Ceibo and it once again did not disappoint. Start first with the excellent, interesting, and perfectly made craft cocktails. Next move on to the food, everything is exceptional and intriguing. It's hard not to order the entire menu. You can't quite place the food concept; part Latin flavors, part Italian, part Asian, but how this team has put it together just works. Each dish is beautifully plated and with appropriate portions for a filling meal. Everyone reported their dishes to be both delicious and unexpected. One of the most exciting food experiences in DC right now. Last, the restaurant itself is minimalist, but reminded me of a hip restaurant in Mexico City. The tables are nicely spaced apart so you don't feel you are eating with your neighbors and the noise level is lively but not loud, so you can have a relaxed conversation with your dinner mates. The dining space is split between an upper level and a lover level. The bar is on the lower level, so feels a bit more lively than the upper level. All around a wonderful experience and a fantastic addition to the AdMo/DC dining scene.“

“We are tourist & was searching for a place too eat since our first choice for dinner totally ignored us after we sat there 30 minutes we left. This pizza joint is absolutely delicious. The thin crust was delicious especially on the cheese pizza. The only negative thing I have too say is y’all charging too much for a house salad. I mean if you gonna charge $14 @ least give me something other than basic lettuce.“

“My hubby and I have been to Carlyle twice. Both times we shared the Judith Point calamari with the corn salsa. Calamari preparation can range from horribly rubbery and tasteless, to just “meh,” or to what Carlyle has done with it - fried to perfection, with complementary flavors in the sauces and corn salsa- for the win!I ordered the smoked salmon on my first visit two years ago, and because it was so tastefully prepared, I couldn’t bring myself to try another dish. It is just delicious.Hubby ordered crab cakes, along with coleslaw and shoestring fries. Crab cakes were meaty and flavorful. Sides were good.Atmosphere and service are good. I love that it’s in a walkable area, just a few blocks from the Shirlington Hilton. Give Carlyle a try!“
“My daughter and I stopped by to see the cats while we were on vacation. Normally, an appointment is encouraged on the weekends, but we were able to go see the cats anyways! The cat room was beautiful! You can tell all of the cats are well taken care of and enjoy human interaction. I cannot recommend this place enough. Next time I am in town I will definitely have a drink and bite to eat as well!“

“This place shares a kitchen with Thai Signature Local downstairs, so the food is just as good, but the menu is a bit different. Lots of fun drinks, including a few non-alcoholic options. The cucumber lemonade (whose official name I can't recall) is wonderfully refreshing. Great atmosphere. Overall a delightful experience.“

“Man, it's not too many places, I go to that be a 10/10, and this restaurant was. The ambiance was very comfortable, and it was not loud, very enjoyable. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was spectacular from the time we arrived to the time we left. The food was cooked to perfection. I had a steak of course mashed potatoes and creamy spinach. I couldn't have it better. I was glad I chose this restaurant, and if you are ever in Arlington, Virginia, stop in and grab a bite. You won't be disappointed.“

“Had a fabulous time at Vin Sur Vingt!! Came around 6 with a friend for dinner. We had a reservation but the restaurant was empty so it'd be easy to walk in and there was plenty of space at the bar. We were seated immediately and our waiter came over quickly. We had a few questions on wines and were trying to decide between the two orange wines on the menu as those are our favorites. Our waiter was really kind and let us try both and we ended up getting a bottle. The wine was DELICIOUS we were so pleased. They have a ton of really reasonably priced bottles which is nice and an extensive list of wines by the glass. For food I had a variation of a croquettes madam with pesto and it was fabulous, decadent, and filling. The sandwiches come with fries or salad (I got both) and everything was delicious. The salad was fresh, well seasoned and tasty, and the fries have a really unique seasoning, also really tasty. The atmosphere is great. Dimly lit and quiet enough to chat. Great for a girls dinner/catching up with friends. The service overall and our waiter was stellar! Super attentive and friendly. Can't wait to come back.“

“Happy Hour at Barca on the waterfront on a Friday is amazing. The Hostess was great she took us straight to our table thru the crowd. Made sure we were seated in a good location by the bar. As soon as we sat down the waiter came with the menu and options. Our table was facing the water which gave us clear view of the Water taxis and boats. The lemon drop drink was strong the food was served hot. However due to the breeze and being by the water the temperature of your food changes quickly. The hummus is delicious highly recommend“

“I tried to make a reservation, but there were none available for downstairs so I got on what I thought was a waitlist like a normal restaurant. When I arrived I was told that there is no waitlist and they are full. I guess the waitlist is to get a reservation if people cancel, but otherwise they are full until close. This was not clear on the website.Came on a Saturday night around 8 pm. Took the metro so I'm unsure of parking, though it seemed to be expensive in the area. This place is a very small. It has two levels. The live music plays downstairs. Downstairs there is a small bar with about 8 seats and about 8 tables total. I did not go upstairs as we wanted to be near the music. We were told to stand by the bar and wait until a spot opened up. I didn't like this because it was cramped and I felt like a vulture, but we didn't want to call it quits just yet so we decided to try it. We waited 17 minutes. This somehow felt quick and like an eternity. It passed because we were still able to enjoy the music while we waited, but I was anxious trying to get us a seat because we did not just want drinks, but food as well. I was able to snag a seat for myself first and then a second for my partner.Drinks ordered: Athenas Kiss *phenomenal!*, an old fashioned, and local DC beer. (FYI: They don't have a great scotch selection.)Food ordered: wings, caprese, and herb pan seared salmonDessert ordered: noneThe food was good. I actually enjoyed the wings the most. We got a mixture of the spicy and sweet sauces at the bartenders recommendation. They were cooked well and the sauce combo was excellent. The caprese and salmon were yummy, but nothing phenomenal. The bands playing was great. It was fun to listen to. There was a mixture of keys, drums, trumpet, bass, sax. The time passed and we enjoyed ourselves. We stayed until the band's set was over. Again, I felt bad that people were waiting for seats (I don't like to be rude or take up too much space) but I had to remind myself that I was a paying a customer (because after tips to both the bartender and band we spent over $200) and it was okay for me not to feel bad. That being said, this place was definitely not cheap. It's not an every day, week, or month thing to drop $200 on dinner for one night, but in this case, it was a special treat that was worth it. It ended up being a romantic date night for my partner and I to feel connected.Obviously they cannot change the size of the restaurant but after reading the reviews from the past year, I believe that the establishment does read and try to make improvements where possible.Overall impression: a cozy, dark, exposed brick place. Because of this, it is loud and crowded. Come for a relaxed time to enjoy libations during the music and chit chat in between music as it is hard to carry on a conversation. If you go in with the right expectations and overview of the place, I believe its a great time. I would recommend the experience.Vegetarian options: A few vegan pasta dishes and a few vegetarian dishes like bruschetta, caprese, beyond beef veggie burger, and a veggie sandwich.Kid-friendliness: Not a place to bring kids.Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessibility“

“This review would’ve initially gotten a 3 star review due to the host giving my partner a dirty look upon arrival (blonde white woman with a bun), however our wonderful waiter, Eric H., completely elevated the experience. “Went to Apero for an early dinner (pre-Kennedy center). Arrived early. Hostess and the bartenders were all "no it's okay, come on" so in I went. They offered me a table (I had a reservation) but I decided to sit at the bar. Anyway. Started the meal with the deviled eggs. You'd think, deviled eggs, right, just deviled eggs? But these were really good. And overstuffed. Had some bacon in them, which really set them off. So off to a great start. For my main course I had the branzino (aka striped bass) and it was phenomenal..It took me a hot minute to place the sauce flavor. It was a classic hollandaise sauce. The whole thing, fish, potatoes, spinach....was just perfect, and combined perfectly with the slightly lemony hollandaise. Dessert brought out the bread pudding which, you guessed it, was phenomenal. The ambiance? Ok, so Apero is small. There's another restaurant upstairs as well. So the ambiance is semi-chaos, not very private....and sitting at the bar gave me a front row seat to the pre-service (basically) chaos and then the service chaos. It was great fun. Apero is also SUPER casual. I was in a suit (like I said, I was going to hear Mozart at the Kennedy Center) and felt WAY overdressed. Shorts and t-shirts would be good to go here. Get a reservation, and go. And also let me add: It was not as expensive as I thought it would be (considering it's D.C., it's a Michelin starred restaurant, and it's French).“

“Fun spot for dinner and good food. Our server was very nice, yet didn't course out our food, so we had two pasta dishes and fish show up at the same time. The octopus starter was my favorite dish. The pasta and fish were also good, but not necessarily the hottest when we ate them, given everything arriving at once“

“Love the fact that you can just order seafood à la cart and not all the extra stuff if you just wanna go for hard-core seafood. Honestly, my husband does not eat seafood and the burger was excellent. My daughters salad was excellent and I like how they talk to you about the sustainability in the fish they buy. “The Eastern is just a couple of blocks from my daughter and son-in-law and is our go to place when we visit them in DC. They have a fabulous menu, however, we love the small shareable plates. We love the atmosphere and the local vibe and are warmly greeted like old friends. Love this place.“

“Came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. My mom and I love french food and we had to check out this new place in town. First off the service went the extra mile to help us get a extra seat on a busy Sunday. Their reservationist without a doubt one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Definitely made us feel good before even walking in the door. We got some Bloody Marys to start. It was well balanced and we requested it extra spicy and it was. Well balanced and flavorful. My mom got the Quiche it was big and served with a side salad. She said it was very good rich and flavorful. She had to finish it because it was that good. It was well balanced with the mixed green salad adding freshness to the meal. I got the steak sandwich it was really good. Had a ton of flavor and the steak was tender. Coked mid rare which is the way I like it. The cheese was super gooy and rich. Bread was perfectly crispy and airy. It held its form even with all the drippings from the steak. Fries served with it were crispy and well seasoned. Our friend got a classic French omelette which was served with home fries. She said it was good but more plane than she was expecting. The interior is classic french restaurant looks fantastic. Overall a delicious meal cant wait to try the dinner menu another time.“

“We purposely selected Saturday evening because of the advertised performance on the restaurant's website. I was disappointed that the performance had changed. When I inquired with the manager and expressed my disappointment, he seemed to dismiss me. I understood his explanation of why the performance changed. I simply suggested they update the website because it's a bit misleading. But again, his response to me was a dismissive and unwelcoming. Beyond that, our wait staff was lovely and the food pretty good. Not sure I would recommend based upon the manager's disposition.“

“Such a cozy little coffee shop with simple interior decor with a modern twist. Seating is pretty limited as it's a small café, but they also have outdoor seating with cute little tables! Love how they had fresh flowers in small vases all throughout the café for nice pops of vibrant hues. I ordered the iced vanilla latte, and it was more on the milkier side. I didn't really taste the espresso until a few sips in, it was pretty faint, but overall a pretty good latte. The iced chai was overly milky, with barely any hints of the usual spice notes. The orange blossom latte was surprisingly very good! The orange blossom flavor didn't overpower the espresso notes, and it was very smooth, nicely balanced, and perfectly bold.“
“Came for a drink and the bar is pretty cool. I came by myself and the service was fast and friendly. “Good spot is Georgetown for Italian. It’s in a nice location near the canal and close to the waterfront. Dinner time and sometimes lunch are very busy here. During three week for dinner is not so bad especially after the rush. The interior environment is not very conducive to conversing. The noise levels are more intrusive than other restaurants. That’s why a weekday dinner here is nicer especially if on a date.A good option is takeout for pizza. The pasta and meatballs are very good.“
“They definitely don't do things by half measures here, this place is flamboyant in the best way. Huge portion sizes, huge amount of decorations, huge hospitality. We went during spring and they had Easter decorations EVERYWHERE. Started off with their meatballs, which were tender and flavorful (loved the marinara sauce they used). I ordered the lobster cardinale, which was like if you married a really good lobster bisque together with pasta. It's pricey but they don't skimp on the quality of the ingredients (has giant chunks of perfectly cooked lobster). Definitely recommend. My sister had the sausage rigatoni, which was also very good, although didn't stand out to me as much. For dessert, we got the hazelnut cake, and our waiter even gave us some complimentary amaretto, which was a really nice way to finish the meal.“
