“Very nice and trendy Cuban spot in Silver Spring! Happy hour deals are great, if you have a group I definitely recommend getting the Cuban Street Food Sampler, so that you can get a good variety of finger food! The Sampler comes with Empanadas, Pollo Coca-Cola, Salted Cod Croquettes, Pan Con Lechon, Fried Yuca, Tostones, and their Cuban Sandwiches. My favorite of the bunch has to be the Cuban Sandwiches, which had tasty bread with delicious meat filling, the Fried Yuca which came coated in super tasty fried garlic, and the Pan Con Lechon which was pork that literally melted in your mouth! We also had the Hibiscus Sangria cocktails for happy hour, which were alright in my opinion.“
“I’ve been coming here for about 5 years. The restaurant is small but clean and the staff is always friendly.I always get the Chicharron con Arepa, Arepa Pabellon, or Arepa de Camaron. The arepas are always good and made fresh to order. This is not “fast food”, so if you are in a rush, I suggest placing an online order. If you are a fan of flan or tres leche cake, give it a try here. You can tell that they make the dessert in house. Both are very enjoyable!Street parking and garage parking are near by.“
“Honestly, this place continues to exceed our expectations. Service is extremely personalized with kind service staff who share more than just menu. They're cool too. The atmosphere makes you feel like you left the U.S. and landed in a sweet Havana town. Make sure to check out the colors, artwork and decor. Lastly, the absolute star of the show - THE CUISINE. Oxtail, Arroz Con Pollo, Empanadas, Tres Leches, I can literally go on and on... The prices are what you'd expect. Definitely make this a local destination place for your special occasions. ⭐⭐⭐⭐“
“I've been eating at Caribbean Grill since I was a kid in the 90s, and it's still one of my favorite places! I've never had anything here I didn't like, but the chicken burritos (pollo a la brasa with black beans, rice, tomatoes, and onions) are my old standby. The saltenas are also wonderful. The yellow sauce is the best around! Fast food prices but so much better!“
“They sell some super delicious sandwiches here wow! I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it is a delicacy. The bad thing is that it was very greasy but it was a delight, the restaurant is almost always empty and I honestly don't know why a place with such delicious food can be like this.“
“I lived in Miami for a decade and used to live in Little Havana a few blocks from Versailles and La Carreta so I know what’s up when it comes to Cuban food. This place is legit and very authentic to the Miami Cuban flavors. Prices are reasonable (for DC) and it’s a nice comfortable restaurant for a casual night out.“
“Had a great HH experience here on a Friday evening. Left full and with a very nice buzz for $42 (2 orders of empanaditas, 1 mini cuban sandwich, and 3 double mojitos). Bartender was friendly and attentive. Recommend stopping in for eats and drinks.“
“Really cute spot. Hit or miss on business. This is the second time I've come and the first time it was SLAMMED like uncomfortably so this time was great, much less people and able to order and get food within a timely manner. We did order downstairs and they brought it up to the roof top (which is ADORABLE) for us. Water is self service. We got the chicken wrap and the Cuban, neither came with sides and they were both around $13.50 which I think is pricey especially for no sides included. Did i leave feeling full and was the food good? Yes. Overall good spot with lots to do around it.“
“Ordered ahead & picked up a beautifully packaged meal of Media Noche & Plantain Cake with a perfect Cuban coffee a la Miami! Fab portions & flavors. Thumbs up on all that is Colada Shop. All are helpful answering questions & full of pride in the product, wonderful to see & very welcoming!“
“Quick, pleasant, and otherwise attentive, staff members at Colada Shop on The Wharf are consummate professionals. Even when I haven’t yet ordered, and am in line, staff prepares my order [they know my preferences] and swiftly checks me out. Coffee and food are delicious. Wonderful.“
“I am struggling to figure out why this place does not have a 4.5+ on yelp....a true hidden gem! We DoorDashes from the Colada Shop to try it on a whim and wow...were we taken by surprise. In my experience it's common to not get the best service through food delivery apps, so our expectations were not set high for this at all. However they blew us away! We tried... The Cuban sandwich, and it was a pretty good standard cuban! The Guava Bbq sandwich was sooo good! The guava really made the sandwich something special! The Chicken empanadas...amazing! Perfectly cooked & seasoned. The sauce they came with was the cherry on top! A Breakfast empanadas were a hit with my husband! He absolutely devoured them! The Churros were so light and fluffy! The fry was perfect! & the Tres leche was an amazing way to finish! Light and delicious!!! We will definitely be going in person! Best door dash find ever!!!!“
“I absolutely love dining at this Cuban restaurant! Not only do they serve a delightful cocktail called "national," but the staff, including Estefani, Felipe, and Marlon, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is consistently tasty, and I must admit, I really miss the club they used to have there. It added an extra touch of excitement to the overall experience.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I stepped inside, I felt like I was transported to the vibrant streets of Havana. The colorful decor, lively music, and welcoming atmosphere immediately set the stage for a fantastic evening. As a rum enthusiast, I was in heaven with their extensive selection of rums from all over the Caribbean. The cocktails were expertly crafted, bursting with tropical flavors and perfectly balanced. And the food? Oh, the food was absolutely divine! Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, showcasing the bold and flavorful cuisine of Cuba. From the classic ropa vieja to the mouthwatering lechón, every bite was a taste of paradise. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff making sure that every aspect of my dining experience was flawless. Whether you're craving authentic Cuban cuisine, delicious cocktails, or just a lively atmosphere to enjoy with friends, Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar is the place to be. I can't wait to go back and do it all over again!“
“Had a classic mojito. It was just ok, nothing to write home about. Also had the assorted apps platter which included a ham croquette, a beef empanada, shredded pork, fried chicken, crispy plantains, and yuca. Everything pretty much tasted the same, no distinct flavor. Added some salt and asked for some type of hot sauce and that made things slightly better. I had a light snack this day for lunch, but I would go back and try some other classics in hopes the flavor profile is more pronounce.“
