“I had the pleasure of dining at Swahili Village Restaurant and I must say that the food and my experience was amazing. The food tasted so good and was accompanied by African music. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who were happy to share their knowledge of the dishes and made sure my dining experience was just perfect. I loved the decor and the drinks were fantastic. I really am lost for words, apart from the fact that you absolutely have to eat there or you will miss out on something exceptional.“
“So so good! Food is always so fresh every time. I always usually get a veggie combo, fish dulet and Goden tibs. You can tell this place is great because its mostly always packed with Ethiopian people. Service is good, sometimes a little slow but nothing crazy. The owner is very delightful and always walks around to say hi to everyone. There is often incense burning which is nice but sometimes a little strong. I will always come back here!Dietary restrictions: I asked if they have gluten free injera for my aunt and she said yes and it comes from ethiopia (not made locally).“
“Honest, clean, delicious. That's how i'd describe this Pho place. The pho broth is very crisp yet rich. But on top of the excellent food, I was very impressed by the attention to detail by our server and the overall honesty of the restaurant. The tip is calculated pre-tax (one of my pet peeves is restaurants calculating tip post tax). Will definitely visit again in the future!“
“We had a blast here last night at trivia! It was five rounds of 11 questions and I loved how they covered many different topics. I also appreciated using a phone app to play, which definitely helped with hearing questions when the restaurant was packed and quite lively. For food, I got the blackened mahi-mahi and brussels sprouts. The mahi-mahi was scrumptious, tender and smoky from the grill. It was served over yummy cilantro rice and creamy/zesty lemon butter sauce. Needless to say, I wiped my plate clean! The brussels sprouts was also stellar - everything crispy in it from bacon to shallots to the actual brussel sprouts. It was served with bleu cheese, which rounded out the crispy heartiness with just the right amount of funk! We also sampled through a few of the delicious beers on tap from kolsches to sours. Service was prompt and great, too. What a fun time - hope to come back soon!“
“Tom’s Watch Bar is one of my favorite spots to go in the National Harbor! Shout out to our wonderful waiter Cam!!! Thank you for your amazing customer service and for making our experience at Tom’s wonderful! Highly recommend going to Tom’s you will always feel welcome and the food and drinks are delicious ? ?“
“Incredible dive bar, very impressive beer list, free popcorn?? Very attentive and efficient service, bartender was 100% aware of what was up. Great ambience/vibes. Couldn't ask for more. 10/10 spot, would recommend to anyone for a quality beer an unpretentious night out. “
“Came here with friends for dinner. Our reservation was somehow lost between systems, but the staff was thankfully able to find us a table in the lounge. Not ideal for dinner with 4 people, but we made it work!Food was decent, dessert was the favorite course by far. We did the restaurant week menu which was a great deal. Would be interested in coming back for a table in the dining room and to try other items from the menu.“
“Bar food, friendly, and community. I hadn't heard of this place until a week ago. Make this your bar. Great food, decent prices for DC, yeah I get DC prices, and a soul. Go, have a Wherever I go, He Goes. Get vegan Mac, I ain't vegan - pause, think I just asked you to get vegan mac - and the short rib burger. Enjoy.Vegetarian options: I am a hunter and meat eater, vegan mac and cheese. Vegan bowl is fine, mac and cheese is truth. Also, I date a vegetarian, forgive me, nachos no meat, veggies nachos unreal.Kid-friendliness: I walked in with Mom and son here. Definitely kid friendly, you might have one random yelling about a ballgame but entirely family friendly.“
“Definitely a great sports bar with pretty good food and a ton of seating. Stopped by since everywhere else on the street was completely packed and was not disappointed. 40oz beers are a nice plus and very fitting for vibe of the watch bar. Prices are high. Highly recommend the Buffalo chicken “
“first of all, the owner is probably the smartest person I know, but watch out, she also has a sick aresenal of pranks. all the food is going to be amazing because she won't allow anything substandard to be served. service was great for our large group and there's lots of value priced products and specials. and if you want to watch rugby, look no further. I only wish I lived in D.C. so I could go all the time.“
“A comfortable place to come and practice some swings and be provided with superb service. We walked in, immediately we were escorted to our bay by Tim and he kindly provided us with water and set us up to play. Later on we were met by our instructor Gazza and was very personable and knowledgeable. He was attentive and informative.“
“I run an alumni club, and Clubhouse is my go-to space for events of all kinds - whether we're hanging at their weekly trivia nights, throwing singles mixers, or even having "fireside chats" with authors, the staff at Clubhouse is always accommodating, kind, and professional. The atmosphere is fantastic, never feeling close or crowded, the food is delicious, and, again, the staff could not be better. A wonderful venue for groups of all kinds.“
“My favorite place in the broader neighborhood! The staff are friendly and attentive! The food is consistently good - everything on the menu is good, my favorites are the ribs platter, Gouda burger, steak and cheese, wings, blackened seared tuna app, and great fries too. I, and other friends, go out of our way for the hand-dipped chicken fingers (a staple pickup for take out since I live nearby). In addition to great selection of beers, they always have NA beer selections too, which I get when coming with the kids. They love the nachos, wings and kids menu.Kid-friendliness: Seating indoors is all high-tops, so low-tops are on covered patio. Good kids menu w/crayons. Never a problem with tables during non-peak hours, but if a big game or something, do the best you can.“
“I grew up in this area. The restaurant located in Four Corners was once the home to a Seafood restaurant named Fred and Harry's. Now there are 3 restaurants in its place. My initial feelings of the 4 Corners Pub were positive and I was frequenting several times throughout the months. The place is definitely a hotspot. On Thursdays half off pizza. On more than one occasion my order wasn't properly prepared and when I informed the staff they questioned me which left me feeling some kind of way; especially after all the support. Anyway, I don't visit that often except for their fries. I've ordered fries on numerous occasions and recently I was handed a box of burned fries. I contacted them and was told no problem that when I returned they would make another. When I arrived I believe it was the owner who questioned it; as I, by accident had brought in the wrong container which had some food scraps in it. It had gotten mixed up with a container I was going to throw away. I was told I didn't even have to bring it in. The owner kept insisting the fries weren't burned. They did however prepare me another which was excellent. Thanks to the manager. You are appreciated.“
“Lived in Buffalo for 5 years so the bar for wings is extremely high. These were pretty good though. I tried the lemon pepper, which had good flavor and were crispy. Also had the honey bbq which were drenched in sauce; it was a bit much. The beignets were delicious and the chicken noodle soup hit the spot. Overall, good food and would recommend. But can’t say they are the best wings I’ve ever had though“
“We always choose Johnny's All American to showcase a lively neighborhood bar to our clients. The decor, paying homage to the owner's grandfather's army service and community involvement, is truly impressive. Witnessing a person's legacy reflected in the intricate details on the walls and artwork adds a special touch to the overall experience. It's a unique and meaningful atmosphere that resonates with both history and community spirit.“
“Today, I tried Fight Club. I found their lunch menu offered unique combinations of sandwiches and sides. Each sandwich contained flavors one might not normally pair. I enjoyed a Genoa Salami and Coleslaw Sandwich! It was absolutely fantastic! I’d place it in my top 5 sandwiches ever! If you’re looking for a wonderful dining experience, check out Fight Club DC!“
“I've been to Midlands twice. First off, props for being a Michigan alum bar - Go Blue! Love the patio and chill vibe - great spot to relax while hanging out and sampling beers, etc. Solid beer selection, per my husband. Today I ordered the Strainge Beast hard kombucha which was awesome. Ginger, lemon, hibiscus. Loved it! We also needed a light midday snack so my husband got the $3 happy hour brat and I ordered hummus/pita. The hummus tasted great and was the perfect consistency. I'd love some veggies in addition to the pita bread, though. The service has been welcoming both times I've come. All in all, Midlands is a terrific neighborhood hangout spot and I'm sure to be back when visiting the area.“
“for my birthday they let us play as many board games as we wanted for free!! the vibe is very loud-college-friend-group, which is fun for us twenty somethings :) i can't tell how good the drinks are but service was fast! only sad part was they only have bags of chips for bar snacks, but they were yummy bags of chips nonetheless! and for my fellow wolverines... PLAY MICHIGANOPOLY!!“
“Ballston Local is not just a restaurant; it's a beacon of culinary delight, casting a warm and welcoming glow over the neighborhood. With its super friendly service and an atmosphere as inviting as a family gathering, this spot is a testament to the joy of shared plates and hearty conversations. Our culinary journey at Ballston Local was nothing short of a gastronomic festival, celebrating the finest in casual dining with a twist of sophistication. The Mama's Meatballs, nestled in herbed ricotta and accompanied by perfectly grilled garlic bread, were so tender and flavorful as if every bite whispers a secret recipe passed down through generations, served with a dollop of love. The Caprese Crostini was a symphony of flavors, harmonizing the saltiness of prosciutto with the freshness of tomato and arugula, all elevated by a drizzle of balsamic reduction that danced on the palate. It wasn't just an appetizer; it was an aria, sung by the ingredients in perfect pitch.Pizza lovers, rejoice, for the Sausage & Roni Pizza is a masterpiece of dough, cheese, and cured meats. The blend of pepperoni, Italian sausage, mozzarella, parmesan, and basil was a testament to the power of simple ingredients coming together to create something magical. Each slice was a ticket to an Italian countryside. The Italian Pork Store Special sandwich was a hearty homage to the classic Italian deli experience, with layers of prosciutto, sopressatta, ham, and fresh mozzarella, accented by roasted peppers and arugula, then kissed with vinaigrette. It was a hearty handheld feast that transported us straight to the streets of Rome, one savory bite at a time. And then, there was the Blumont Burger, a burger behemoth that stood tall and proud. The caramelized onions, gorgonzola, arugula, and bacon came together in a beautiful, messy, glorious union, all slathered in burger sauce that could only be described as "nectar of the gods." It was the kind of burger that demands your attention, commanding the stage with the poise of a seasoned actor. I'm not usually a fan of blue cheeses, but I would come back for this. The beverage menu at Ballston Local was a parade of liquid joy. From a beer and wine list that is both satisfying and inviting to a fun and tasty cocktail menu that sparked conversation and laughter like the "Spa Day" made with gin, lavender simple syrup, and lime juice sparkling with gold flakes, every sip was a celebration of good taste and great company.Overall, Ballston Local, in essence, is more than a restaurant--It's a place where every dish is a discovery, every drink a delight, and every visit a return to a place where you're always welcome.“
“I walked by the door a couple times trying to find Ivy and Coney, I had not been since before the pandemic. Attended networking event on a Thursday, good space inside and upstairs (heaters on the rooftop). Friendly staff and good beer options - if you are in the mood for a pilsner, I recommend Three Floyds Speed Castle. My colleagues enjoyed the food but I didn't try anything.“
“My name is Mrs. Jones. I have been a customer of Miller.s since it opened. I bring my friends from Virginia, DC Maryland and MY FRIENDS FROM NY AND Boston has been there. You have the best customer service, because of the management and service employees. We always Dine in and spent time talking to management and staff. We appreciate everyone who works there, in general they are attentive. I give them“
“As usual‘s Walters Sports bar, accommodated our request for a beer pong tournament by reaching out and staff were super friendly and respectable. Clearly one of the best places to stop in while attending any sporting event such as a nationals game or DC United game.“
“I got takeout from The Big Board this evening. I was only in there for a minute and a half, but the guy behind the bar—whose name I failed to get—was strikingly kind. And to top it all of these are hands down the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. No bad news.“
“From the outside you might wonder what this place is about but when you go inside it is a different story and when you go out back, it is different world. The food was great. The staff was attentive and the chef did a good job. Parking is not easy to find but it is on the still worth the visit for the food. I was the photographer for the Yelp event and it was a good time. Great work by the artist with the walls in the back. Every area told a story.“
“We've been here quite a few times! It's definitely a great spot. Love the vibe, drinks and food. And kid-friendly which is always a plus. Good food menu with many options. My husband leans towards the IPAs and I always go their seltzers! In-laws were visiting so we wanted to take them to one of our favorite spots! The pretzel is by far my favorite pretzel and THE best I've had so far! And the we also love the fried chicken thighs! Pair it up with one of their small salads (still a HUGE portion!) and you have a great meal!“
“I came to DC from Utah in the fall 2023 semester for a Senate internship. I lived in Crystal City and am a massive sports fan. I was at this place a minimum of three times a week for NFL football games, sometimes more for college games. The staff was amazing and very helpful. They brought my food out quickly each time. The staff even put on my favorite college basketball team when I asked (Utah Valley University Wolverines). Amazing staff, good food, and the best atmosphere at a bar I've ever seen. This place is one of the things I miss about my time in DC the most, and I will definitely be coming back here for more games when I return to DC.“
“The customer service and attention to detail is beyond amazing!! It was my first time renting out an indoor field and their online set up made it super easy to follow. The best was getting to the facility for day of, they are so organized and always there to help answer questions and concerns in a quick and caring manner! Look forward to coming back! Definitely the place to be!“
“This was a bit of a strange experience, and maybe it was because we went between lunch and dinner. The food was absolutely incredible. We had the Balboa Sandwich, crab cakes entree, and kids pasta all with the steamed broccoli. We also got ribs to go for our kid who wanted to stay at the hotel. The consensus was the food was amazing. Like so good! 10/10Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. It wasn't very busy, but we still had to go to the bar to ask for drinks, and for the check.Overall it was really good food and drinks and I would be willing to give the service a second chance to do better.Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu“
“Went to a show at Capital One. Looked up places within walking distance after and this place popped up. Chill place with a cool atmosphere and great service. Moe was behind the bar and recommended the Sweet Devil pizza which was great. Wings were good too. Would definitely come back after another “
“I attended a Sunday brunch that was curated specifically for a group of 25 ladies. It was a pleasure to patronize a woman minority- owned establishment in Adams Morgan. Straight forward bar menu of fried foods, but the wings, calamari and truffle fries stood out for me. Will definitely be back to enjoy the Sunday Bottomless mimosa brunch. Great atmosphere and music, the bathrooms were CLEAN, and the staff were welcoming and capable. Drinks were flavorful and reasonably priced for the area. I will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Excellent options for acai bowls and whole fruit smoothies, veggie options for the quesadilla as well“
“not like old times (talking like around 2005) but still a nice neighborhood kinda bar. still amazing pizza though.(many years after comment).. Service it's ok, if u don't mind 2 wait for a while until somebody decide 2 clean a table, otherwise, to eat on top of a dirty one ??♂️ trust me, few times they didn't even clean b4 they put my food on top.still, amazing pizza.“
“Visiting Bethesda from Idaho and THIS is the place to go for a great bite to eat. I mean, how often do you get to have some of the best hotdogs and brats you'll ever have, plus the flavor combinations for what they put on it has a food connoisseur like myself tearing up with joy. I had a bratwurst on 3 slightly toasted Hawaiian rolls with grilled onions, coleslaw (instead of kraut), and mustard. Wife had the cowboy with beef hotdog, cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, and topped with crushed fried onions. All I could say is wow that was really good food, and the service was awesome too. Can you believe you can actually get these 24hrs a day? This would be my go to weekend spot if I lived here. Thanks for the great food, service, and atmosphere you gave to us.“
“A Five Star bar all around!!! Decided to stop in and check out Jonathan’s and man was I blown away! I love the “local, no frills” feel of this bar! It’s a bare bones, just amazing place! The service here is phenomenal, the lady who bartends was born to do it! The drinks are generous and potent (you will get your money’s worth), the food was good, I had a bacon cheeseburger with fries and it was amazing (the fries were especially crispy and hot), plenty of tv’s to watch whatever sporting event is on, and just when you think you’ve seen everything, the place explodes and all the locals show up and the party gets started! Everyone was super friendly, and what started as me coming in just to grab a beer, ended up being one of the best times I’ve had at a bar ever!! I can’t wait to get back to Jonathan’s!!“
“Super cool spot!!!!!!!! I’ve been coming here since Wilfredo first opened his doors. I’ve come to think of it as a home away from home. The food is exactly what the doctor ordered after a long days work. Karaoke Tuesdays has completely brought me out of my shell. It’s definitely become a hidden gem for the Brightwood community. I highly recommend stopping in and checking it out.“
“The place appears a bit off the beaten path when you get to it, but fortunately there is parking and it’s easy to find. Was welcomed by the bartender who served as the waiter, cashier, host and generally Jack of all trades. I even thought he was going to be making our meal. Fortunately the chef was busy in the back and clearly knew the craft. There are not enough good things to say about the meal which started off with an appetizer of authentic Kenyan sausages, which are the best in the world, hands-down. This was then followed by goat curry (mbuzi) with kale (sukuma wiki) and ugali (maizemal) which tasted as if it had been made straight from a kitchen back in Nairobi. They even had fresh pili pili (green hot pepper) on the side for that extra kick. Will definitely visit again and wash the meal down with the frothy waters of Belgium. The seating was comfortable and the televisions were not too loud. They even had a pool table for those so inclined to mix games with a good meal.Definitely top five in my book & is highly recommended. Will have to try something else from the menu next time.“
“Dinner and cocktails were great and the place had a cool vibe. Cameron and another waitress (sorry didn’t get the name!) were amazing. We had a party of 5 and long story short one person had a minor injury, was in some pain, decided to go to an urgent care and their husband went with them. Party of 5 became 3. The team was wonderful about it and quickly adjusted so we could get food for them to go. The rest of our time was great, we loved the food and the chill atmosphere. We’d be happy to return when we’re in DC again.“
“Sports & Social DC offers the epitome of a sports bar experience in the heart of the nation's capital. From the moment you step in, you're immersed in an atmosphere that's electric with excitement. Whether you're a die-hard sports fan or just looking for a lively spot to hang out with friends, Sports & Social DC delivers. It's the perfect blend of the thrill of being at a live game and the comfort of your favorite neighborhood bar. If you're in DC and craving a sports bar experience like no other, look no further than Sports & Social DC. You won't be disappointed!“
“Food was very inexpensive compared to places around it and food was phenomenal. Service was outstanding, kicked out drinks and food quickly and tasted great. Will come back during my vacation. Drinks were extremely strong and tasted amazing.“
“At least based on my lunch experience, I'm surprised WJ's Tavern is rated so lowly. I loved the salmon wrap...and they even asked how we wanted our salmon done (and mine was perfect medium-rare which is my usual test of the kitchen's attention to detail). It's a great wrap with wasabi slaw poised against the strong salmon flavor with other delicious bits thrown in...but lunch also includes a wide choice of excellent sides (mine was the fine side salad and my companion's elote corn was great, too, served on two short corn cobs). Service was friendly, if a tad slow (it was an off-hour lunch) and the tavern is a cozy place to hang out. There's a great central TV bar with some hunky slinging drinks and working hard. The sour cherry pie and ice cream for dessert was also delicious. Cheap, no; but I'd go back for that salmon wrap ASAP.“
“My company sponsored a corporate event here back in October. I worked with a person by the name of Ryan Hoehne. Ryan was awesome to work with! The event from planning to execution was fantastic. The food was setup and the ease of getting our drinks was excellent. We allowed staff to also order from the menu and the wait staff was wonderful as well. The overall atmosphere of Astro was really cool. Our staff enjoyed playing pool and watching a game on TV. Everyone had a great time and expressed that we should come back for another event! I highly recommend.“
“A fun happy hour spot in a prime spot in Arlington. Decent seating area to pair with the various arcade games you can play (requires $), primarily pool/billiards and pinball. The whole staff was superb from top down. There’s few who you’ll find are more kind than Mel in the service industry. The only caveat I’ll say is it’s essentially self-serve — you have to order your food/drink by the bar. But the swift service more than makes up for it, as I never had to wait more than a minute for my drink.Parking: There’s a paid parking garage right by the restaurant. There’s also streetside parking during certain hours, not sure if it costs money.“
“Popped in here with friends to watch football and grab dinner. It's a narrow space under Tiki on 18th with TVs covering almost every wall. We were all pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was, since we were just expecting standard sports bar fare! We shared four items: lumpiang Shanghai, mumbo salmon lettuce rolls, spicy pork sisig, and the jojo pansit. Everything was incredible. I loved how crispy the lumpiang was and the mango chili dipping sauce was great. The sauce on the lettuce rolls was SO good. We wanted to get the beef pares but they were out, so hope to try that again in the future. I'm glad I didn't know it was associated with Tiki on 18th before because I would have missed out on some delicious food. I stopped going to Tiki on 18th because they are predatory with the 20% included gratuity, by only showing you a final total on the card reader and automatically prompting for additional 20% tip. All that to say, I'll make an exception for The Game because the waitress reminded us about the included 20% which I appreciated and the service was excellent.“
“This is our favorite local bar - AND the food is fantastic! The bartenders are always kind and attentive. The music great and the general ambiance has great energy. We have fun when the bar is packed, empty, and everything in between. Highly recommend for poetry Thursdays (every 3rd Thursday) and Live Music on Fridays. You won't be disappointed by the buffalo wings, fries, po'boy, or the catfish sandwich.“
“I arrived solo and somehow felt out of place. My drink was amazing. Ordered 12 wings with 2 different flavors but I couldn't tell if they were actually 2 different flavors because they tasted the same. Neither was the flavor I ordered. Then again, I'm from Memphis, TN home of south and flavor is a must. According to reviews I was excited to go but unfortunately it was not a friendly environment in my opinion. My drink was good though.“
“There is nothing about this place that doesn’t merit five stars. The service from the bar - Chris, Olga, Jake, and everyone else- are friendly and welcoming. The drink selection is solid and full of favorites. And the food - good lord, the food is outstanding. The best cheese curds, top notch legit red beans and rice - there’s not an off note on the whole menu. Top it off with the fact that I believe that all of their sauces and dressings are house made - like I said, five stars all around!“
“Disappointed in Looney's. Jane, you were amazing. Thank you for all your recommendations and service. You were excellent! To the managers, please note that you are considered a College Park University of Maryland bar, yes I know no affiliation to the school. Women's sports deserve just as much respect as men's sports. Maryland women were in the tournament, their game was on TV and the one reason why we decided to watch at your place. You failed. You failed to put it on at first when we asked because you said no we're only showing the men's games. Thank you Jane for making sure we could watch it. Next, once the Duke VT game was over you wouldn't put the sound on for the last 3 minutes of the women's game on after being asked twice. Others were watching the MD women's game and asked to have it on, you are a MD establishment. 3 minutes isn't a long time and we didn't need to hear the talking by the commentators at a high volume for 20 minutes, music would have been better. Do better. Women's sports matter. Disappointed.“
“Our server was pleasant and attentive. We ordered calamari and spinach dip appetizers, not very good. My wedge salad was good with shrimp. Daughter had a burger with fries. They gave her very few fries. Her mojito was “underwhelming”. Not sure we will return.“
“Well “The Hood” is out and about as Spring is getting officially closer. Had lunch here and it was ok. Good bar atmosphere loud and exciting. Food: good had a la Cubana (possible spelling error). The gang with me had various food. Sorry for no pictures the hood was hungry. Service: good people checking on you as you go. We apparently threw the server off when she asked at the end if it was separate checks and we said yes. She had some difficulty with it 1/2 hr later she finally got the bills right. Atmosphere: if you like the bar type scene a great place to go. Well as the weather gets better The Hood will be out and about again. I’m not here to judge just looking for great food awesome service and a great atmosphere. Remember to be good to each other because you never know when The Hood will be in. Be kind to each other and keep adventuring!“
“Came here with the kids for lunch after going to America's Best in the plaza. The server was very kind and attentive . My son had the pupusas. He loved them... said they were the best he ever had? I had a very lovely shrimp fajita ❤️ It was sizzling the shrimp was well seasoned? very nice?? The Pina Colada was nice and my daughter had fries with a side order of beans. She loved it would definitely go back?Vegetarian options: The pupusas are customized. You can put whatever feeling you want in themKid-friendliness: Can't lose with the french fries and the beans.“
