50 Best Wine Bars near Takoma Park

The Girl and The Vine Wine Bars • $$
7071 Carroll Ave, Takoma Park

“What a cute shop with 3 levels, and outdoor seating. Top level has a wine bar for 21+, 1st floor is where the main cash register is located and some crackers, cheese miscellaneous food items, and basement has their kitchen and a few small tables for seating, and some more food products they sell (like a mini mart). There is free parking behind the restaurant. There is a back entrance from the parking lot that leads to the top floor where the wine/alcohol is served. There are 2 individual bathrooms located on the top floor as well. We don't drink alcohol, so we went down to the 1st level to check out their other products offered. The front entrance leads to the first floor. We came here because we heard from a local that they sell coffee there, and we ordered a Chai Latte and Oatmilk latte. The lady staff was so kind, friendly and welcoming, and guided us to sit down and the drinks will be brought to us. We opted to sit in the basement. There are a few small tables there. My daughter and I really enjoyed our chai latte. It was delicious. However, the oatmilk latte was a little on the sour/acidic side for our taste. But we'd definitely come back to try their sandwiches in the future, hopefully when the weather gets warmer and we can sit outdoors.Their google map hours said they close at 6pm on Tuesday, but we found out that they close at 8pm. So you should call ahead to check on their hours. Also, they're not open early in the morning.“

“Hands down one of the best dining experiences ever. Absolutely loved everything, and there was a lot! All the food here is halal. The ginger and hibiscus juices are best enjoyed when alternating sips..so even if you are on your own, order both! I have forgotten the names of most of the things we ordered, but maybe you can figure it out from the pictures. The lamb was amazing, and i don't even like lamb! The special jollof rice was on point, and the chicken stuff was pretty decent. The carrot (i think) and blueberry cakes were also to die for! Service was also amazing, albeit a little slow.. but that perception might be driven by the fact that we had to rush to some place immediately after...Don't forget to check out the phone booth outside. The birds be calling...Overall a very pleasant and memorable experience - Totally coming back for more!Quick edit: turns out i got distracted by the food when it arrived and ended up totally forgetting about taking pictures... so just ask what's good from the server - they might say everything though..and they might be totally right.“

“Second time to Ceibo and it once again did not disappoint. Start first with the excellent, interesting, and perfectly made craft cocktails. Next move on to the food, everything is exceptional and intriguing. It's hard not to order the entire menu. You can't quite place the food concept; part Latin flavors, part Italian, part Asian, but how this team has put it together just works. Each dish is beautifully plated and with appropriate portions for a filling meal. Everyone reported their dishes to be both delicious and unexpected. One of the most exciting food experiences in DC right now. Last, the restaurant itself is minimalist, but reminded me of a hip restaurant in Mexico City. The tables are nicely spaced apart so you don't feel you are eating with your neighbors and the noise level is lively but not loud, so you can have a relaxed conversation with your dinner mates. The dining space is split between an upper level and a lover level. The bar is on the lower level, so feels a bit more lively than the upper level. All around a wonderful experience and a fantastic addition to the AdMo/DC dining scene.“

“What a sweet wine spot! We came just before close on a Sunday and I am so glad we stumbled in! The small shop is bright and airy with high ceilings. Their tiled bar seating seats at least 10 people, with tables up in the front near the entrance for larger groups. There were also 2 seater high tops in the back that people were reading books at while enjoying glasses of wine. The service - amazing! The two people behind the bar knew all about their wines and were able to suggest some glasses to us off their Women in Wine list for March. I liked that while the rest of their wine list was from your typical wine producing regions, their Women in Wine selections were more local. They also do events and try to incorporate themselves into the community since they're local - so really a great local wine and cheese bar! They also have a wine and cheese subscription - it looked amazing and pretty affordable, too. They also just recently opened a spot in Union Market - I can't wait to check them out there!“

Drinks were Kentucky Rose (with ice) and Como La Flor, however the latter may no longer be served for Spring season. Dessert was the bread pudding, if I had to be picky it would have been nice to have a sauce or more of the caramel drizzle as it was a little dry.Everything was VERY good but maybe the Mussels and Gougeres win for best in show!!! First off the service went the extra mile to help us get a extra seat on a busy Sunday. Their reservationist without a doubt one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Definitely made us feel good before even walking in the door. We got some Bloody Marys to start. It was well balanced and we requested it extra spicy and it was. Well balanced and flavorful. My mom got the Quiche it was big and served with a side salad. She said it was very good rich and flavorful. She had to finish it because it was that good. It was well balanced with the mixed green salad adding freshness to the meal. I got the steak sandwich it was really good. Had a ton of flavor and the steak was tender. Coked mid rare which is the way I like it. The cheese was super gooy and rich. Bread was perfectly crispy and airy. It held its form even with all the drippings from the steak. Fries served with it were crispy and well seasoned. Our friend got a classic French omelette which was served with home fries. She said it was good but more plane than she was expecting. The interior is classic french restaurant looks fantastic. Overall a delicious meal cant wait to try the dinner menu another time.“

“As soon as you enter the Peacock Cafe, you are treated like family. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful. In addition to the wonderful service, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. I had a prix fixe meal which included a pistacchio soup, steak frites, and a berries with sorbet for dessert. All were tasty with impressive presentation. Great restaurant for dining while in the Georgetown area.“

“What a hidden gem. Have wanted to stop by first some time and glad I did. The owner was there and was unbelievable in making you felt welcome. Enjoyed some conversation with her and others and also had plenty of quiet time to enjoy a book I was reading. It was the perfect mix where people know how to treat everyone else around. Had 2 gallses on Red - 1 that I picked and one the owner recommended. Both were great and price is on point for the quality but a stel for the location, service, and atmosphere.“

“I had takeout Margherita pizza which was delicious. The best I’ve had in DC. Restaurant was crowded and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Only negative is pricing and also I asked the server for a suggestion for a salad with different meat options (i.e chopped or Greek type salad) server suggested some type of cheese filled dish with some type of meat. I don’t even know what it was but cheese was not good. I probably should have been more detailed. Tossed the salad but loved the pizza.“

“Really delicious, cat-themed restaurant with the same vibe as its counterpart, Lost Dog Cafe. My burger was juicy and flavorful and the cocktails were spectacular — pricey — but super fresh and creative.Vegetarian options: All burgers come with a vegetarian option and most of the other sandwiches are riffs on a grilled cheese.Parking: There is a small parking lot out front, but the spaces are a bit tight.“

“Beautiful white table cloth dining space. Cozy feel and nicely decorated. Food was phenomenal. The kabobs were flavorful and juicy, the mango rich in flavor and texture, and the lamb chops were delightful. Waiters were attentive and patient, especially considering we had a toddler with us.“

“What a great addition to Capitol Hill-- delicious food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. I'm going to get some friends together soon to check out the upstairs open air patio (with heater if needed). So far I've enjoyed the salmon entre and the delicious--and authentic--lobster roll. There's lots more on the menu for me to check out!“

“Whether it is date night with friends or just the two of us... This place is one of my favorites. It has a quaint and romantic ambiance. Not a place to rush through dinner! I love to start with a cocktail favorite, an Old Fashioned created in an old fashioned manner. Always like to try two or three apps, not the ones you click on, but marvelous morsels of goodness! Move on to a plateful of rich, delicious pasta, then pause. Toast to life after the pandemic with apropos Posecco. Slowly, indulge in the made-in-house Tiramisu...mmmmm. Need I continue?“
