“A cute and unpretentious place for Peruvian eats. The owners are very kind and friendly. It's small but charming, with tasty food. Had the Pollo Saltado, which was classic, well-seasoned, and really filling. Try it for a nice break from the many chain restaurants in Towson.“
“Written by a Peruvian who is often in LA, NYC, DC, MIA. Trust me, I (and many Peruvians) hunt excellent Peruvian food wherever we go. Our gastronomy is becoming world-renowned (yaay) and so some (!) are trying to cash in and provide sub-par/tasteless/bland stuff and try and sell it as “Peruvian” food. Well, Puerto 511 and Chef Jose are exceeding all expectations. First thing you notice after laying eyes on the beautifully plated dish is the freshest ingredients but then, BAM, the perfect combination of taste, spice and tenderness hits you. Delicious as it should be when made right. He serves traditional flavors in a gourmet-style. PrixeFixe dinner of 5 delicious courses which was completely perfect. Beginning with the super tender veal anticuchos (with the nice and spicy sauces), to the tuna en su causa (perfectly seasoned potatoes layered with the freshest tuna) and the sashimi in aji amarillo and ending with churros (made as they should be with a pumpkin-base dough) topped with a scoop of guanabana ice cream, strawberries and Dulce de Leche! Each dish had our beautiful and familiar Peruvian flavors, all exploding nicely in your mouth. Excelente!“
“So upset I don't live in Essex, because this is hands down the best tasting Peruvian spot I've ever been too. I ordered a half chicken and the lamb chops meal. The lamb chops stole the show. I'll be driving back just for them!“
“There's a reason why there's always a line at most Peruvian chicken restaurants and El Grand Pollo is no exception. Excellent portion sizes, juicy flavorful chicken and amazing sides. This is definitely the Hispanic soul food that will cause you to kick your feet up and take a good nap afterwards. Make sure you grab an Inca Kola to complete your meal. And ask for all three sauces“
“Searching for rotisserie chicken in Baltimore to add to a salad, stumbled upon this place. Let's just say the salad was quickly forgotten when I saw the food options here. The chicken was incredible, perfectly seasoned and tender. After smelling it my whole ride home, I couldn't wait another second to eat it and had a few pieces over the sink with my hands like a rat before I calmed down enough to put some on a plate and eat it. Plantains and rice were incredible, I want to try all the sides. The green sauce is good enough to drink.“
“This has to be one of the best places in the area for some amazing Peruvian chicken. My family and I had the family combo which is enough for a family of 6 easy. The food is great, flavors are spot on but for anyone who is not familiar with Peruvian mash potatoes these are not your typical mash potatoes, but they are great. They have an excellent choice of sides and they were all great. Anyone stopping by who loves flan must try their flan. The music and the decor was also incredible and really nostalgic.“
“Casual hole.in the wall restaurant offering really good authentic Peruvian roasted chicken. It's reasonable considering what all you get. They offer chicken by the quarter, half and or whole with a variety of sides. I really enjoy their chicken. I come here mainly for that. Sides are okay, however very generous portions.Only pay street parking is available. This is the only set back about coming here......the availability with street parking.“
“I go once a week for takeout. This is the best El Gran Pollo location due to cleanliness and staffing. The prices might seem high, but they give generous portions so it all somewhat evens out. I have both dined-in and gotten takeout here and I have no complaints other than prices being a bit high.“
“Was looking for a link to review, but this is only giving the option to recommend or not. Oh well. I guess I’d recommend this place based on the fact that they serve chicken outside of the scope of Baltimore’s “chicken box and fry” combo. The food, however, was over cooked and the chicken was salted more than I’d expect. Foods that I’ve tasted at this location: 1/4 chicken (too salty and not juicy like the other reviews have claimed) Fried plantain (black and burnt...overcooked) Cilantro rice ( best item so far) Beef empanadas (cooked way too long...overcooked) I’ve experienced food from other Peruvian restaurants, and I cannot say that Primo Chicken is at the top of my list. Sardis still is a winner over top of Primo Chicken.“
“The best chicken in town!!! Seriously you have to try this place out! Their sides are typical but you get a lot for your money. Fried plantains are superb! Tres Leche cake slices are yummy! I absolutely rave about this place to my coworkers all the time“
“Great spot for Peruvian chicken. Huge menu with lots of options I always get the chicken but everything else that comes off the line looks amazing. Bug fan of the spicy Brussel sprouts!Parking: Big lot right out front in shopping centerWheelchair accessibility: No stairs.“
