“Carmen's Best shaved Ice I ever Had In my life I say this because It was just so soft and smooth. The service was Really good The co workers were very patience with me I was so Indecisive Cause they have so much flavors. I love how they let me pick 2 flavors with no charge too I wish it was closer to Frederick. I think Carmen's Italian ice is way better then Rita's to be honest.“

“At Ice N' Slice we discovered a delightful twist on our pizza nights. Here, Ethiopian spices dance with traditional flavors, creating something truly unique. Each dish we tried was a testament to culinary creativity, perfectly suited for any palate. But what really set our experience apart was Mr. Biniyam's warmth. His hospitality wasn't just service; it was like being welcomed by an old friend, making our dinner feel extra special. This place is more than a restaurant; it's where food becomes an adventure, and every visit feels like home. For anyone craving a new flavor or a cozy spot to dine, Slice N' Ice is the perfect find.“

“Great ice cream with tons of flavors, one flavor for $5, two for $6!Like most places, they offered free samples and I really appreciated the clipboard wall to clearly display all the flavors they had available. There were 3 different freezers, and so many options for cones, shakes, toppings, and even pints to take home ??I really enjoyed the matcha cheesecake and the orange chocolate chip flavors, as well as red velvet cake that had chunks of cake in their ice cream, that I tried but there were so many to choose from that I couldn’t try so I’d be happy to check it out again!Dietary restrictions: Ice cream flavors with nuts are clearly distinguished“

“My baby girl and I truly enjoyed their desserts. I purchased two banana puddings and a kale/callaloo patty. The patty was amazing, filled with flavor! We are definitely returning for that deliciousness. The kind young woman at the front let baby girl try the birthday cake flavor and she wouldn’t let the spoon go the entire walk home?. After purchasing great reads from Sankofa bookstore, we ended with a full heart and stomach at Here’s The Scoop?“

“We've been going to The Scoop for about a year. We found it on a hot night and Googling for ice cream. We love The Scoop! The ice cream is delicious, and we know we will always have a fresh scoop of ice cream. Prices aren't bad, particularly for small batch ice cream, but the quality makes it worth it.Excited for it to warm up some more, and we will absolutely be going regularly!“

“Future patrons of Crumbl, beware. These cookies are gigantic mounds of addictive deliciousness. More like 4 cookies in one, we like to order the 4 pack, divide the cookies into quarters, then share each one. We can't go too often if we want to keep somewhat fit, but these are a yummy treat every now and then when the flavors of the week look irresistible.“

“The much-anticipated sister restaurant of Purple Patch opened just a few weeks ago and I'm already hooked! It's a lovely addition to the neighborhood, offering a simple menu with a lot of flavor. The wagyu burger is nicely balanced, and depending on your appetite you can get a single to a triple patty. The ube soft serve with coconut is such a hit and the flavors are perfect. It's been really busy for good reason, so you might have to wait in line especially on really nice days, but service is pretty fast and they also have an order online link. Enjoy the outdoor seating on a nice day! Indoor area is small but very pretty, and stools with counter-style tables lining the interior. Very kid friendly as well as they have a kids' menu,' tables, and neighborhood kids' art on the walls. You can also purchase a few Filipino snacks like v-cut chips and boy bawang (garlic corn nuts), and they also have some canned non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available. With the addition of Joia Burger, the owner Patrice really shows how much she cares about the Mount Pleasant community and is invested in it. It's a great spot to swing by for a quick meal and friendly faces!“

“My husband and I love this place & always recommend to our friends who haven’t been yet. From the gelato, to drip coffee, gluten free brownies and breakfast sandwiches and burritos, everything is SUPERB! Yesterday we ordered the breakfast burrito(comes in spinach wrap), waffles & breakfast tacos with bacon added. As usual, everything was fresh, quick & filling! Kevin up front is always great to chat with & super helpful. The other young ladies are also friendly, hardworking & keep the place so neat & tidy. Stop by!!“

“Went here on a whim with a few friends after dinner. Very cute and cozy shop, for a quick sweet treat. I got the blueberry basil sorbet and pain perdu. The blueberry basil was phenomenal!!! Really tasted like fresh blueberries and the basil was standout. The pain perdu was a little lackluster compared to the sorbet, however it was very creamy and cinnamon forward. I would go back for the sorbet for sure. A con for this shop is that they don’t do any samples which was a big bummer.Vegetarian options: Sorbets and vegan icecream“

“I heard about Levain and was in the Bethesda area, so I had to make a stop. As soon as you walk in, you’re hit was amazing smells of baked goods and fresh coffee. The options are simple and straightforward. The staff was all business; get you in and get you out - order and move out of the way.I tried four different cookies. Were they worth the hype? Yes! Absolutely! Maybe some of the best cookies I’ve ever had. At $5 a piece, they’re expensive but worth the cost. I will definitely visit again when in town and look forward to trying other options and flavors. Thanks.“
“This place is like a tiny apothecary filled with very beautiful and expensive treats. There were beautiful single source chocolates and packets of pasta that looked like art. The bagel I got was perfectly functional, good for a walk, but I would come back to get a gift or a special treat for someone.“
“This place can get popping' with its limited parking but it's close to my house and they usually have what you're looking for. Street parking can be available if they have no space in their lot and they have a small seating section next to the line where you order. There are three windows you can order from but only the first two have the bar code scanners. I love this place and will definitely be coming more during summer time!“

“Finally got by to check this place out a d was not disappointed. Grandma, Posh and her son were all very nice and d personable. You can tell they take pride in the ingredients they use as soon as you bite in. I had the Cheesecake waffle with strawberries and a scoop of soft serve and it was amazing! Definitely going back!“
“I have only been here a few times. On this visit, I was in the area and decided I wanted a gelati. I enjoyed one at their other location earlier in the month and thought it would be fitting to get the same size here, but different flavors. Here, a small gelati is $6. What I got may not have made sense together, but it didn't matter to me as gelatis are growing on me. For the custard, I got Nutella & Butterscotch. You can get it separately or in a swirl. I opted for the latter. For the Italian ice, I got cherry, and it came with bits of cherry pieces as well. For those that don't know what a gelati is: it's custard in the cup first, then Italian ice in the middle, and then more custard on top. The concoction of flavors together was great. I enjoyed it. Who does not love Nutella or Butterscotch...yum. I enjoyed the cherry pieces as well within the cherry shaved ice.“

“I haven't been here in a couple of years, but I LOVE the new flavors. I got a cup of the guava and can't wait to get the passion fruit next time. I'm so happy they are diversifying the flavors, but I of course couldn't leave without a pint of the rum raisin. They make their own ice cream so it always tastes fresh and doesn't have that artificial flavor some places have. It's definitely a must try for any dessert lovers who find themselves in the Montgomery county area“
“Yummy froyo place in Bethesda Row. Smaller array of flavors but they are all so delicious! Also includes vegan froyo options like sorbet. Good topping choices with a clean hygienic self serve area. Super nice workers who let us sample flavors before we actually got them. Yummy and good music taste. Very clean interior and perfect stop while shopping around Bethesda Row. Really want to emphasize how kind the worker was!! I think his name was Pablo, he's so sweet and seems to really care about the store.“
“We were staying next door to the Flavor Garden and came in for breakfast on our first day in DC, the service was good, the good was so good. I keep thinking about the scrambled eggs! They tasted freshly scrambled and made out of real eggs, and seriously the best eggs I have had in my life! The french toast and bacon were also good but not as good as those eggs! We returned that evening for dinner and my husband and I both had the burgers. They were the best ever! Great flavor and texture and so savory. I also had one of the best margaritas I have ever had and all in all really good filling meals! I wish we got a chance to go again before we left DC. Believe me when I tell you go check them out!“

“Cute little shop will the best booba in Rockville Derwood area. Love the shop and set up. Amazing ambiance. During the summer you can make your own ice cream, literally. I highly recommend it. You will love the variety of tastes, tropical mixed with asian flavors.“
“This place was so cute! They had red and white stripes as their decor, and also a pretty good outdoor place. The workers were kind, and they brought our order pretty quickly. I got my go-to Rita's order, blue raspberry and root beer Italian ice with gummy bears. It brought out those exact flavors, and I loved it. My friend got the pear ice cream, which they said "I like it" and they said that "they were surprised the small size is still a lot." I guess the small size is a bit large, but other than that, this place is very awesome!“

“If you're a fan of matcha, this place is a must-visit. Personally, I always opt for their ice cream, and it never fails to impress. While more topping options would be a bonus, the overall experience is great. The vibe of the place adds to the enjoyment. Five stars for consistently delightful matcha treats and a wonderful atmosphere!“
“Every trip to Gaithersburg must include a visit to TFR in Laytonsville! Found a unique gift I have never seen in another shop and will be making a friend smile. TFR owner was so warm and welcoming! Her smile radiates her passion for creating a space filled with acceptance, creativity, laughter, and warmth…just like a family room. Can’t wait for my next visit!“
“Definitely try the Hazelnut Crackle ice cream – it's a winner. The folks working there are pretty friendly. Heads up though, even though pour over coffee is listed on the menu, they said they don't actually serve it. Ended up with a Decaf Americano instead, and honestly, it was pretty terrible.“

“The place is different from when it first opened. The chicken is as good as ever. It's still more of a take out place than an eat-in, but there are picnic tables available if you want to eat there (we did). The service was good and the food was worth the trek over.“
“Got the stratiacella and passion fruit sorbet. Like that they do two flavors in one cup. Wish that the stratiechella had those more classic chocolate ribbons but the passion fruit was killer. Relatively fast service even though we were stuck behind a big group of kids. Perfect post dinner snack vibes.“

“I love Ben and Jerry's and am so happy they have vegan options at their scoop shop. This location has a small seating area. About 15 people could eat indoors. When the weather is nice there is plenty of outdoor seating. The employees were very kind and helpful. I came with friends and they had so much patience handing out samples and answering out questions about the vegan flavors and which cones were vegan friendly. I got the nondairy Whirled Piece and the nondairy chocolate chip cookie dough on a sugar cone. The ice creams were great! You would never know it was vegan: the cone tasted a bit stale. Next time I visit this location I will either get a cake cone or just a cup so I do not have the disappointing taste in my mouth of an old sugar cone.“

“One of my favorite spots in D.C.! One of the first things I noticed was the employees. I don’t know how the company does it, but every single worker is the most friendly, courteous individual you will find at establishments like these. An increasingly rare thing these days. The friendly service is matched by their incredible gelato. You can tell that it is made with real, fresh ingredients. The chocolate they use is unreal. Not overly sweet but with flavors that have you asking where have others been hiding it. The pistachio gelato is made with real pistachios, not some sort of pistachio flavoring. I always get a cup of their drip coffee to go with it. Really good.I stop by Pitango often and have never had a bad experience. I’m betting you won’t either.“

“This was my first time trying this flavor and i would say it was really good. Service was great, staff was nice. If was a cute little ice cream joint. I always loved the inside of Jeni's. Back to the ice cream: I don't remember the full name but it was rainbow yogurt. The texture wasn't like your normal ice cream but it was more on the yogurt side with tons of flavor. The waffle wasn't the greatest, not sure why. Maybe it was an off night or something. Overall, jeni's ice cream is always on point! Thanks!“

“Loved my second visit here with my hubby this time. I ordered the same thing again with different toppings-- the Strawberry Lady consisting of strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, marshmallows, and fresh strawberries. My husband got the Reese's Blast that had lots of chocolate and peanut flavors to it. Both items weren't overly sweet which I really appreciated. The order can be placed by using the touchscreen or by letting the cashier know. The price can be a bit extra except it's worth it. Our two ice cream orders came out shy of $16 but it comes with at least 3 free toppings of our choosing. The only gripe I have is parking. The lot in front of the store is perpetually full. It's best to park across the street if able.“
“Our family has tried the chocolate stracciatella, mint stracciatella and strawberry. All so creamy and delicious! More importantly, the customer service is amazing. There have been delays with mail delivery in our area so Gemma personally drove to our home to deliver our gelato to us. AMAZING! We will definitely be ordering more.“
“Maryland Dairy has been serving ice cream on the University of Maryland for 100 years. Formerly located in the Turner Building, its name has been simplified, and it is now conveniently and logically located in the food court of the Stamp Student Union. We were planning to have lunch after leaving campus, but we had to have ice cream first! The colors and names of the choices were attractive. The purple was actually blueberry with vanilla cookie pieces and cream cheese icing swirl. It was named after W.S. Arbuckle, a former university professor and author of a definitive book on ice cream. We also tried Terpresso, a double strength coffee ice cream with crushed Oreos and a caramel swirl named after the Terps or Terrapins sports teams. The Sapienza, which we were told is the customer favorite, was a creamy, rich vanilla bean ice cream with chocolate chips and chunks of chocolate fudge brownie, a smooth chocolate swirl, and creme de cacao. In recognition of Jim Henson, a prominent alumnus, and his Muppets the green mint ice cream with chocolate chips was named Kermit’s Kiss. I only regret not bringing an insulated bag so I could take home some pints from the freezer.“
“Francesco and his brother were the perfect fit for our wedding reception. Having spent time in Italy, we absolutely loved their authentic, delicious gelato. They really worked with us on our flavors and delivering exactly what we wanted. They provided such a charming and polite service for our guests. Having our own family experience with Downs Syndrome we love that their business does so much to support the community and dispel misconceptions. We highly recommend them for any event. We enjoyed the entire process from start to finish! - Emily & Dylan (Sept 1, 2023)“

“We visited Van Leeuwen on a chilly Sunday with a sweet-tooth and hankering for some quality ice cream. Suffice to say we were not disappointed. The interior is bright, welcoming, and we were allowed to sample multiple types of ice cream in order to make our final selections. They have a large variety of flavors available in the case, as well as to go pints of all the classic Van Leeuwen flavors. There were also 4-5 vegan/dairy-free options, which you typically don't see in an ice cream shop. I got the Planet Earth ice cream, which was a vegan ice cream made with spirulina tea and chunks of matcha cake. The ice cream was extremely creamy for a vegan dessert, and the matcha came through super strongly. It was unique and delicious! My partner got the Coffee Affogato flavor as a milkshake. This was absolutely phenomenal: rich, creamy, but not too sweet or heavy as milkshakes tend to be. Our only complaint was the pricing. My single scoop was $9, his milkshake was $11 (the milkshake was a pretty good deal in comparison!). Even so, we are excited to return in the warmer months and try some more delicious and unique flavors!“

“Very good food with a good staff and nice atmosphere. I love the San Remo sandwich. The only problems are the parking, which is unfortunately out of the restaurant's control, and that they can't accommodate some common dietary restrictions in their smoothies. Offering something like almond or oat milk as a substitute for the yogurt would be a good fix for this.Dietary restrictions: They are unable to accommodate dairy allergies in their smoothies at this time.“

“I can't give 5 stars to a place that charges $10 for a Gelato, but I guess EVERY business gouges in Bethesda. Nonetheless, once you go to the bank and get a HELOC to pay for your Gelato, it it some of the best Gelato I've had, and I've been to Italy. Rich, creamy, flavorful, fresh, and Hugh quality are some adjectives to describe the Gelato. Definitely recommend.“
“Pros:*Ordered small scoop of Dairy-Free Mint Chocochunk. Ice cream is made w/coconut milk + tasted fresh/creamy. *Large assortment of flavors (30+), including rotating seasonal options.*Renovated, clean store w/ indoor seating.Cons:*Limited Dairy-Free Options (Mint Chocochunk, Sorbets, Smoothies)*It's a basic ice cream shop - no real 'wow' factor in terms of product, preparation, or presentation.*Product melts quickly - it would be nice if the cups had better insulation for to-go orders. Overall:Popular ice cream chain w/ clean store, friendly service, + reliable product. Employee told me the store has been in business at this location for 50+ yrs. If you're just looking for a simple, affordable cup/cone of ice cream, I would recommend going to this Baskin over others in the area.“

“I personally don't know anyone who dislikes Rita's. Back in my college days I remember how my friends and I would run over from our dorms to get the Spring special. Not sure if they do that now, but on occasion I do still get an urge for a (small) gelati -- which is both custard and Italian Ice layered in one cup. I haven't disliked any, but I usually gravitate to the Mint Choco Chip cream ice and ANY of the custards. Just depends on what's available. One thing I also like is that in addition to the standard nutrition facts charts, they share a chart that lists all the flavors and which ones do and do not contain dyes and gluten. That's... really awesome. The parking lot for this location is really tight... and there's a bench or two, but ultimately not too much space to hang. Prepare to grab and go... and escape that parking lot haha!“
“We had been disappointed when this BR had to leave Cabin John Village. We had been told it would reopen at Seven Locks, but when it didn't happen for a while, we feared it might never do so.So we're very delighted to find it here, still serving great ice cream. Understand, not every BR is the same. The ones that are half Dunkins just aren't nearly as good. This is the full-store BR, the type that is increasingly hard to find. The kind with the full array of BR flavors and tons of ways of serving. I find that the ice cream at this kind of BR just always tastes fresher and better than at the half-Dunkin ones.My opinion is that BR ice cream (at least at this type of store) compares favorably with its premium ice cream competitors, while offering lower prices. Pralines and Cream is still my favorite! But there are so many terrific BR flavors: baseball nut, jamoca almond fudge, chocolate peanut butter, etc. Still great after all these years.“
“Well stocked, good rotation on seasonal drinks. Very well priced for the area. Very convenient if you live in the building, as the mini mart is stocked with a variety of goods you might need in a pinch. Bar has a decent selection on draft for a bar this size and has a good atmosphere, especially on the weekends. Great place to watch a Brazillian soccer game.“

“The Baked Bear is a great spot for those who love the classic combo of cookies and ice cream. The service is always quick and efficient and they've mastered the art of pairing freshly baked cookies with a tempting selection of ice cream flavors. If you're feeling a bit adventurous, give the brownie bowl a try - it might not be the first thing on your radar, but it's a hidden gem. The only downside is the limited space; when it's warm they don't typically offer indoor seating and ordering but when the weather turns chilly they do open up the inside. Not an every day thing but really good for a once in a while treat.“
