“Always the best restaurant in Portsmouth hands down! The service is impeccable and individualized. The food is superb and Cure can stand with the best restaurants in America. Keep it up. The cornbread was fantastic and all the food perfectly seasoned and appointed to. Thank you!“

“We were a foursome at an early dinner before attending a local jazz concert. The dining experience was customarily excellent. Reception was competently sone, and the server who had to put up with our slow, chatty pace timed her work perfectly. First courses of Yorkshire, putting, rarebit, and beats were each well done. The rare bit and Yorkshire pudding are such unusual and well prepared items. Dinners were hotcakes, the salt, cod, and two orders of the duck breast. The only chink in the evenings armor was that the duck breast was ordered, medium rare and delivered medium well. Customarily, the duck is prepared right on the money. In fact, customarily it is the best duck entree in the region. So we'll spot the kitchen this slight fault on one night. Drinks were a variety of red and white wines. What I especially like about Puddle Dock is the high value price points on the wine list. I had the ‘21 Catena malbec for example. Small money for very good wine. If you've not been to the restaurant, do yourself a favor. It's a stand out in Portsmouth.“

“Ate lunch with friends on drive home from Logan on our way back home from London. Our first meal back from London is a tough one. The food was fantastic. Had a nice window table with a view of the sparkly water. There was a vent blowing cold air underneath our table, but fortunately the server provided a small mat to cover it up. The cocktails were en pointe and well balanced - not too sweet which we appreciated. Even though we are all seafood lovers, two of the stars of the meal were the buffalo cauliflower ( great sauces and nicely fried- not greasy or soggy) and believe it or not, my daughter’s grilled chicken caesar was also really nicely done on all fronts. We all loved the haddock reuben ( again many nice touches- great cook on the fish, delicious sauces). I already mentioned the drinks. Cocktails were awesome ( we tried 3 different ones from the menu). My chief and probably only complaint would have to be the wine pours. I am spending top dollar on quality food at a respected restaurant- please give me a glass of wine. We spent over 300$ at your establishment, don’t serve me a splash of wine. Rather insulting. Everything else was wonderful. Kitchen staff are doing it right and our server Sierra was great. Bar program - don’t serve skimpy wine pours.“

“From the minute you walk into The Franklin you feel the warmth of the space. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. We ate everything and it was flippin amazing - I took my sister and her husband here and his eyes lit up when he caught site of the selection of oysters! He still talks about The Franklin and makes me take him there every time they are in town.“

“There are quite a few " smart casual" dining options in Ogunquit and I cannot claim to have tried them all, but , of those I have sampled That Place stands out. It is a small town average floor plan that lends an air of intimacy to a roomy vibe. The service is highly trained and knowledgeable but without being pretentious. As for the menu, it is large enough for choice but simple enough to suggest specificity and care for each dish. Escargots seem to be out of favor these days but here they immediately caught my attention and did not disappoint! Neither did the generous and perfectly cooked pork chop. Utterly delicious! My Hendricks martini arrived with a slice of cucumber as garnish- a stroke of genius- and has since become my sine qua non ( if you can persuade the bar tender to supply the cucumber!) Go on spoil yourself!! You'll thank me afterwards.“

“I personally did not eat here but my wife and daughter, who has a severe dairy allergy ate here last night. My wife was overwhelmed with how accommodating they were and the level of seriousness that they took her allergy. I can't begin to tell you how amazing it is for us to go out to eat "like normal families do" and for it to not be a STRICTLY vegan restaurant. My wife told me she was close to tears. I just wanted to thank the staff at this great restaurant for giving them this experience. My wife and daughter are in town for a tour of UNH and I am very happy to know she will have a safe place to hang with friends and get a bite to eat without worry. It will definitely make the 5 and a half hour drive a little easier.Dietary restrictions: Severe dairy allergy“

“A rare gem. Huge portions. The freshest of ingredients. Yes, they offer a Vegan special. Even better, the taste, very special. Within ten minutes, we had 4 different people check on how we were doing. We were in a rush to make the theater. They handled that very well too. A truly special place. You will leave with minds at ease and belly full.“

“Our second dinner proved as lovely as our first. We shared a cheese board equal to the price, loaded with various cheeses (one hard, one very soft and a bleu), pickled veggies, sweet, cruncy nuts and plenty of crostini. I enjoyed a stuffed (spinach), baked haddock, perfectly done while my husband relished his seared scallops, rice and bok choi. Given it was Valentine's Day, we shared the special flourless choclate cake--a bit overpriced, but good. I loved that I was able to try the two wines I was debating between (a Pino Grigio and a Sauvignon Blanc) which allowed me, surprisingly, to chose the latter. The bar tender even made a perfect keoke coffee-- a recipe that seems to stump many! Bistro 1828 remains our 'go-to' for a special occasion--one of the few local seacoast restaurants whose food, service, atmosphere lives up to the its prices! (Our table was in front of a drafty door--the only reason for the 4 star--get a back or side table!)Parking: We lucked out on a cold night to sang a spot right next to the resturant, but there is also a bog lot across the street.“

“We tried the prix fixe here during Portsmouth's Restaurant Week April 2024.The food was well presented and the flavors were pleasant but not particularly distinctive. The Boudin Blanc Meatballs in Pea Puree with Mimolette & pickled vegetables was our favorite. The service was adequate. The highlight of the experience was the cozy rustic ambiance & intimate atmosphere of the first floor dining room, right on the land-side of Ceres Street with a view of the Piscataqua River.“
“We just checked in a little bit ago and already are liking the place. People at the front desk were very courteous. Allowed us to check in early. We have a great view of the beach. We are literally a stones throw from the beach at Long Sands. It’s going to be a fun 3 days we are here!!“
“Went to a Christmas party here, it's beautiful. The staff is very nice and the food was great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, my only complaint, we were supposed to have dinner starting at 7, it was 830 before the salad came out and a little after 9 when dinner came.“
