“Love it! The food was amazing, especially the ginger scallion shrimp burger. The staff were super friendly and they took care of everything that we needed. We also came with our service dog and we didn’t have any problems. I would recommend making a reservation, if not you just can walk right in.“

“Hands-down best Fine Dining Italian Restaurant in Portsmouth. Perhaps the best Fine Dining Establishment Overall and our personal favorite. The food here is special. Much of it is Farm to Table using local ingredients and even the fresh flowers on the table are beautiful. The Carbonara has been elevated to almost mythical status and to be tried to believe with the fresh egg yolk nestled into the fresh tagliatelle, crispy guanciale, fresh peas and shaved truffles. The desserts are all spectacular as well, wine list has everything you want and the drinks are as elevated as the fare. They book out quick but worth the wait.“

“I’m from the Boston area and was meeting a friend in Portsmouth for dinner. We picked Durbar Square and we’re definitely not disappointed. We had an absolutely fabulous meal there. The chicken chili was a delicious, and a different approach than any chili I’ve had before. The chicken was perfect cooked. The sauce was full of flavor. They also ask you to pick yours spice range from 1-10 so you can choose what suits you best. The owner, John, is totally engaged with his customers and if you want, can even demonstrate a yoga pose or 2 (which he is very good at). Just overall a great place to eat.“

“I am no "foodie", but I can tell that this place is next level good! Balanced favors! Aspects that I would normally shy away from, but that blended to be remarkable! Spectacular! "Best ramen I ahve ever had!" Per my college daughter.“

“The very nice employee who put together our order was very cognizant of any allergen statements we made on our order and made sure to keep that in mind when we ordered the gf bun. But appearantly they have no vegan buns even for the bean patty (which is appearantly a vegan patty). The employee gets 5 stars for being so helpful, kind and aware for us. However it's frustrating that the seemingly vegan option has one thing non vegan and it isn't labeled as such for clarity (which is very easy to do) Especially since vegan food often isn't an allergen-centric food decision. The fact that there is no choice of vegan bun to accommodate a vegan patty seems extraordinarily lazy of the owner(s).Employee gets 5 starsLexies menu design gets 1 star“

“This was our first time at Green Elephant and we can't wait to go back! Finding a restaurant with lots of vegan options is difficult, so when we discover one and it's great, we get excited! We went for lunch, getting there right when they opened and by the time we left an hour and change later, they were completely full. We had an app, the king oyster mushroom tempura, a noodle curry, and a stir fry. All were amazing. The atmosphere was very nice as well. We didn't get any drinks, but they had a really creative cocktail menu - we'll be back for dinner and drinks next time!“

“We had a very good authentic meal tonight. They were short staffed and were apologetic for the wait. The meal was well Worth the wait and after watching one person do the job of 4 people I have a new appreciation for food service workers! She did it all politely and with a smile on her face. Everything about the meal and the service was great.“

“This lovely restaurant is the kind of place that you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other momentous occasions. The prices are high, but so are the quality of the food, drinks, service, and surroundings. We celebrated our daughter's master's degree completion at the Library, and it was memorable from start to finish. All of our food was either good or great.Note: you have to go down a flight of stairs to access restrooms. Amanda was an excellent server. If you want a good red wine that doesn't break the bank (by itself, anyway), the Valpolicella from the Veneto region of Italy was stellar.“
“Boyfriend and I, who are from out of town stumbled across this place today because their flag blew off in the wind as we were walking by so we brought it inside and were unexpectedly thanked with a treat from the super friendly staff. It was so tasty we had to come back to get more, and will definitely keep this place in mind whenever we’re back in Portsmouth.“

“A rare gem. Huge portions. The freshest of ingredients. Yes, they offer a Vegan special. Even better, the taste, very special. Within ten minutes, we had 4 different people check on how we were doing. We were in a rush to make the theater. They handled that very well too. A truly special place. You will leave with minds at ease and belly full.“

“Went out to dinner here on a Friday, and even though it was very busy (because the food is amazing), we got a table quickly and got some apps/meals.The food was incredible, the service was supreme, and it was just an overall great night. Would highly recommend and we will be back!Dietary restrictions: Made sure there were no nuts with anything I ordered and the wait staff was very attentive.Parking: There is a paid parking lot nearby.“

“Went here for our 56th anniversary Saturday night! This is the second time we’ve been here and not been able to order an entree because of the apps! We got PEI mussels and the calamari. My husband is a big eater but after drinks and these starters, we couldn’t eat another bite! Next time we are going to get one app to share and then hopefully have room enough for an entree! Service was great, drinks super! A cosmo and a dark and stormy. Will definitely be back again and again!“

“We selected Moxy for the Portsmouth restaurant week. Our table samples diverse offerings (except for the 4th course).Of the courses, the barramundi was a stand out, both beautiful and delicious, a wonderfully balanced spring plate. The service was attentive and prompt. We were not rushed and had time to complete each course before the next was brought out.I would love to return to sample the regular menu.“

“We just checked in a little bit ago and already are liking the place. People at the front desk were very courteous. Allowed us to check in early. We have a great view of the beach. We are literally a stones throw from the beach at Long Sands. It’s going to be a fun 3 days we are here!!“

“We came from out of town on a busy Friday night. We didn't want to wait 45 minutes for a table, so we opted to place a take out order. Our food came out in 15 minutes and was some of the best chicken parm I've ever had. I LOVED this place.“

“On a cold weekday, I decided to head to the Soupery to satiate a craving for chicken noodle. The location is wonderfully walkable if you work in downtown Portsmouth. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful when they ran out of the full amount of one ordered soup. My officemate and I traded bites and all the kinds we ordered were delicious and had that great homemade quality. Not much to say about ambiance because there's an ordering window and that's it! You won't have to stand in the cold long!“

“We hadn't been there in many years. It was every bit as good as we remembered. There are no negatives...the staff is pleasant and informative. Food was excellent, as was the service. I loved the gentle music playing.... Even the chairs were comfortable.... Great drinks too!“
“Had to kill some time today before an appointment in Portsmouth so I decided to grab an acai bowl because i was getting pretty hungry and i had no idea how long my appointment afterwards was going to go... Best decision ever! Even tho it was busy, the woman at the counter (Ella? Bella?) got my order done quickly, deliciously, and with a real smile.“

“My kids and i went on mothers day. Probably the last to be sat on an already very busy day. We were seated outside, at a clean table in almost no time. We were given the most wonderful service and your team took the best care of us. Our food and drinks were perfect. Best Breakfast I think i have ever enjoyed! The kids agreed. “I already ate at a place a block away but decided I was hungry enough to have a regional favorite - Poutine! It wasn’t busy; the food tastes great; the environment was on the quiet side, you could actually hear the people around you talking. The business was clean, and I’ll be GOING BACK to try one of the burgers.“

“We tried the prix fixe here during Portsmouth's Restaurant Week April 2024.The food was well presented and the flavors were pleasant but not particularly distinctive. The Boudin Blanc Meatballs in Pea Puree with Mimolette & pickled vegetables was our favorite. The service was adequate. The highlight of the experience was the cozy rustic ambiance & intimate atmosphere of the first floor dining room, right on the land-side of Ceres Street with a view of the Piscataqua River.“

“This is better than the usual Indian dive. The food is tasty, filling and not expensive. But the menu doesn’t deliver what it promises. The “roti” is identical to the naan. The “south Indian” spices are identical to the other curry spices. If this place served Masala Dosas, and made an effort to serve South Indian dishes, I’d give five stars.“

“So exceptional! I had a giftcard here and went for my birthday, is a cozy little restaurant and bar in Portsmouth. The owner and servers were friendly, helpful, fast, made great suggestions, and repeatedly asked if everything was tasting okay. We did the $60 per person 4 course meal for the Spring Menu. You have 3 options to choose from for each course. I had the beet salad, cauliflower, gnocchi, and churros. Everything was so fresh, flavorful and clearly cooked with love. Was insanely good the drinks were really fun and creative too. Would absolutely go back for their summer menu and recommend to anyone in the area. Definitely make a reservation!“

“Great gluten free bagel. It's plain, but not... plain plain. Lots of GF options to eat and drink.Unfortunately, the menu uses a poor font where all the letters or a word are capitalized and very close together. This makes it hard to read from far away, whose vision isn't great, or for those where English isn't their first language. So, grab a menu from the rack by the door.Dietary restrictions: Gluten FreeWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp to upper dining area by the counter, but not sure the tables are wheelchair friendly.“

“This is by far my favorite coffee and breakfast spot in Ogunquit. The blueberry scone with a delicious cup of coffee is my go to meal. We make it a point to visit every time we are in Ogunquit...this year we stopped in 3/5 days we were in town and each time the blueberry scones were sold out because they are that good and we also got there a little later in the morning. On our last day in town I woke up early to place my order online and finally got my blueberry scone fix!! The other days we stopped in I enjoyed their delicious lemon/cherry scone, chocolate chip scone and also an egg and cheese sandwich on their multigrain bread...all were super yummy! The staff is also fantastic - friendly and helpful. There's a good amount of seating indoors and even more spots to sit outside. You might have to be a little patient looking for parking if you drive there, but it is so worth it!Vegetarian options: they have very yummy and generous sized avocado mash on delicous multi grain bread“

“This cute little place is located just off the highway in Kittery, but beware of the very small and busy parking lot. Delicious bagels and delicious coffee! Comes in handy if you're hungry and need a pick-me-up. There's also a Dairy Queen, and festival toilets around back.“

“I love travelling and finding my go to place for the few days I’m in town. The Goods is an amazing bistro/cafe/local goods one stop shop! I wish I was in Portsmouth for weeks bc I was Devastated I could not try the whole menu. What did I eat? The Havana and the Calli wrap and a Pumpkin bagel. What made this place my go to… THE GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE OPTIONS! The staff were so knowledgeable and were able to make whatever I fancied with GF wraps or bagels (that actually hold the fillings and are mighty tasty) and once home, it reheated fantastically. Reasonably priced, centralized location, and warm and inviting staff. Will make a trip back XDietary restrictions: Gluten and dairy free accommodations that taste really really good!“

“My husband and I went to Portsmouth for a quick getaway. We had tried a few restaurants and were all great.. but then I really needed some Asian food. I was surprised to see a hot pot restaurant. The experience was not like at home in Boston but it was everything I needed. The dumplings are made in house and I loved it. We did got those and did hotpot. Satisfied my craving.“

“I loved everything about Row 34 from the warm welcome by the host, till I walked Out the door with my delicious doggy bag. Grady, whose attentiveness and sweet demeanor evade the visit a pleasant one from the start, to the delightful selection of dishes, every aspect of my meal was a culinary delight.Dining solo can sometimes be a little daunting or awkward, however, the host made me feel right at home right away. After conversing with Grady about the Four Agreements, we decided the best plan of action was to start with the biscuit, with honey and rosemary infused butter…next level scrumptious. Order it, do not hesitate. Next came the fresh oysters, fresh and perfectly presented, yum.For my main course, the mussels were a highlight, tender and flavorful, swimming in a broth that begged to be savored with every dunk of crusty bread. And just when I thought the meal couldn't get any better, the butterscotch pudding arrived, a creamy indulgence that left me longing for just one more spoonful, and remembering why butterscotch pudding was a childhood favorite.Overall, my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. This restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's a destination where food, ambiance, and hospitality converge to create a truly memorable evening.“
