“Farm to table style restaurant supporting Bar Harbor local farms. Cooking with wood fire stove, adding to flavor and ambience. The seafood & pork gumbo delicious with a slight bite! Porchetta Lasagna unique and delicious and enough to feed two in my opinion. Topped off with the blueberry shrub sour, a non alcoholic dessert beverage but the chocolate mousse was tempting…. Excellent service and warm atmosphere. We will be back!”
“The Soup Kitchen serves an excellent meal on Wednesday evenings beginning at 4:00p.m. We had a wonderful & tasty meal of spaghetti, turkey burger meatballs, sauce, garlic bread slices, salad, dessert, and water or coffee/tea to drink. The service is excellent. I understand a meal of roast turkey with all the fixin's is up next week. Sunday breakfast popovers will resume on Feb 1.The volunteers are great!”

“We felt so lucky to find this place and will truly miss it until we’re back in the area. We went for lunch and returned immediately the next day for dinner. Everything was outstanding, from the house made pickles on the delicious spicy chicken sandwich, to the dressing, pork belly, and crispy chicken on the wedge salad. The fish sandwich with perfectly seasoned slaw, and the biscuits with maple butter were also incredible. The fried chicken was some of the best we’ve ever had. On top of the special food, the owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. We spent a lot of time sitting at the bar chatting with one of the owners and overall enjoyed our visit so much. We will be talking about this place long after our trip.”
“Love coming here. Great selection of food, even for vegetarian options. The food is delicious and the staff is so warm and friendly. The chai cider mock tail is so great!”
“My husband and I tried this bakery’s poppy and sesame seed sourdough loaf, and their morning buns and both are out-of-this-world delicious! The sourdough crust had a satisfying crunch and bite to it, whereas the interior was perfectly soft and moist. The morning buns had different textures throughout the layers and was a cross between a cinnamon roll, croissant, and cronut. I highly recommend both the sourdough and morning bun.The bakery is only open limited days a week, offer a limited (but very delicious) selection of items, and seem very popular with online orders placed in advance. The morning buns seemed most popular and are likely to sell out within the first hour of opening, so be sure to either place an online order or arrive very early to get morning buns!”

“This “sports bar” is doing some great things with the menu and food experiences. Great cheese steaks, whoopie pies, and drinks. Not your normal bar food at all. Nice atmosphere with decent parking (for south harbor). The staff here is friendly and professional. Only feedback I have is the single waiter/barkeep was over worked for even a slow Tuesday night, so if you’re in need of something you’ll have to be aggressive and wave them down. Enjoyed the meal!”

“Owner-operated. Paper menu. Five starters and six mains, three desserts. Hard to choose, all sounded great. We had Pork belly and Peekytoe crab cake, then Gnocchi with foraged mushrooms and pan-fried Haddock. All great, really enjoyed the gnocchi! An outstanding, knock-your-socks-off chocolate “pudding”. Excellent wine list and good, interesting wines by-the-glass. This is the real deal- an adventurous chef who loves food and local ingredients. Great, personable service!”
“Very popular ice cream place close to Acadia National Park. We stopped by twice, since our cabin was nearby. Very fast, friendly service making short work of the long lines.”

“After a long day in Acadia we found ourselves heading back to our Airbnb in Tremont. We were not wanting the crowded streets of Bar Harbor. It also seemed that many places had closed for the season in spite of the crowds and the fact that it was only Oct. 13. We came in at 6:45 knowing that they closed at 7pm. They graciously fixed us a fabulous pizza to go. They were even taking orders after ours. Our pizza was a delicious brick oven pizza, not just a quick stop slice. The staff was very kind and didn't make us feel bad for dropping in at the last minute. Top notch service and food! I will definitely go out of my way to return next time we are in the area. Hands down this was one of the best meals we had on our 10 day journey along the coast!”
“This small restaurant is located behind the Claremont hotel, right on the water! Great view with a patio as well! You could definitely tell how fresh all the ingredients were! So good and tasty! The Mediterranean plate was listed as a main course, which it shouldn't be. It's more of an app. And also, I wish my salad would have been bigger. Our server was so cheery and friendly!”

“Blown away. We are spending a month in Bass Harbor and I was giddy when I found this place. I spoke with the owner who was as pleasant and knowledgeable as can be. THE Sandwich is probably the best egg sandwich I’ve ever had. So thankful they are here for the down season.”

“I'm not sure why this restaurant has gotten such average reviews. We went there for our anniversary dinner and the food was excellent. I had duck confit and it was amazing. We shared the whipped blueberry cheesecake and plan to go back again just for that. Highly recommend.”
“Great pub with a killer beer list. Had an awesome conversation with the owner who put on the Ohio State vs Michigan game for me. Come here if you want good beer.”

“Side Street Café is our favorite place to eat in Bar Harbor. This cafe has really great vibes and the service staff is always attentive and friendly. Their cocktails and mocktails are all superb and the "Born to Rum" cocktail is easily the best rum cocktail I've ever had. My wife and I really appreciate that Side Street Café offers a number of vegetarian and vegan options. These can be hard to come by at other restaurants in the area, but the veggie options here are to-die-for! We always get the Brussel sprouts starter. The maple bourbon glaze is the perfect balance of savory and sweet. We've had the hummus platter a few times and love it as a healthy starter before the meal. My recent go-to has been the Lean Machine veggie burger with a side of the house fries. The fries have a delicious salty seasoning and the burger features a delicious earthy flavor that balances well with the sweet spice of the mustard and the creaminess of the avocado. My wife loves the Emilia wrap. The hummus and basil pesto blend nicely with the fresh vegetables which also contribute to a very aesthetic, colorful meal. Whether you're sitting inside or out on the patio, the Side Street Café is the perfect way to celebrate a successful hike, bike ride, or cap off a day of shopping. If you haven't been to this Bar Harbor staple, you need to add it to your list.”

“Stopped there by chance leaving Acadia and looking for coffee and a snack. Had an amazing Curried chickpea smash with cucumber salad and arugula on rye. It was delicious, they have meat as well. I also had a dill potato salad which I enjoyed very much and a latte from Creative Coffee which is s right with them also yummy. We have noted it all to stop there in our next trip to Maine. Worth checking them out. Just a roadside stop with picnic tables outside (very nice ften the best places) and you must wear a mask to order at window.”

“The food and drinks were great! I had the verde taco which was one of the best tacos I've ever had, and a decaf Choco-latte. I would have loved to get a little more food for the price, but the taste made it worthwhile. The place was fairly crowded but it was still possible to choose a table. The staff were friendly and fast. The ambiance is great and felt comfortable for us - lots of light, kind of cool but unpretentious, just a really nice vibe.”

“Hello there! We discovered your brand at the Maine Culinary Festival in Augusta last month and we LOVE your coffee! We were very loyal customers of another local coffee brand in our area for years, but after trying your products we switched to Coffee Hound coffee. Thank you for making such a delicious product right here in Maine! Keep up the good work! Sincerely, Leah &Todd M. Phillips, Maine”

“The "rice bowl," which doesn't _sound_ like much, is amazing -- four varieties of pickled/spiced veggies, jasmine rice, an egg, and a generous serving of pork, chicken, or tofu (I've tried the pork and tofu). I've had eggs benedict that was tops too, also the baked goods. Everything is done with a fresh creative edge. You're truly in good hands with this place.”
