What makes this place remarkable is that besides paying for a drink, it comes close to being over a friends house or your own.“

I say this being a person who could probably live exclusively off hamburgers.I think the french fries are good, but could be even better. The onion rings however, are probably the best I’ve ever had.Being a family-owned restaurant, you can feel good knowing you're not sacrificing quality or affordability to support Rolling Stoves too, which is a nice change as there are a lot of similar restaurants that struggle to be worth their price.“

“I passed The Hut a few months ago & have been wanting to try it. Well, today was the day. I was a little surprised to see the parking lot fairly full on a rainy Friday, but once I went inside, I saw why. Yes, the place is a little worn down, with tape patching the booths. But I think it's because they are busy and have a lot of customers, so they don't have a lot of time to spend on decor -- although, there are signs and photos scattered throughout the restaurant to look at. I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked in. I've never been there before, but I was treated just as nicely as the numerous regulars who were there. It is apparent that the young women who are the servers truly enjoy their job, their customers and each other -- and I made sure to mention it to them as I left. On to the food. Traditional diner fare, which I love. I got the slider special, expecting 1) just one burger and 2) that it would be small. Nope, these were good sized burgers, and I could only eat one. I chose onion rings (which I almost always prefer to fries -- getting in the veggies, ya know ;) ) and, as others have said, they were REALLY good. I also mentioned THAT to the server, and she said they are hand battered. I left feeling like, well, I'd been given a warm hug on a chilly day. I will be adding The Hut to my rotation of restaurants.“

My mom and I had come in a few weeks ago and our server (a girl with a braid, we saw her again tonight) was OK but not the best. She seemed uninterested in us/our experience, beverages took a long time to come out (even waters), and we felt ignored throughout the meal. We didn’t need much so this was OK, but it did stick out to us. However, the food was obviously so good that we were drawn back in. We returned tonight and had the best time! The food might’ve even been better than last time (which is a high bar to reach), and our server was quick with beverages, knowledgeable about the menu, and seemed willing to go the extra step for us to be happy. He talked my mom into having a dessert (which was huge but very delicious, we ended up splitting it!). I haven’t seen her so happy from a meal in a long time. We absolutely will be returning with no hesitations and we will request Scott if he’s working and has room for us! P.S. The host is also very accommodating, we have bad backs so the booths don’t work well for us and she happily placed us at a table with no issues.“

“A pretty decent diner seemingly stuck in the middle of a restaurant/ fast food void on Grand River. The grilled ham and cheese sandwich was the best that I've ever had. “My mom and I stopped in to pick up a carryout after running errands. Wow! The service was incredible. The cashier/waitress was friendly and took our order right away. She was cheerful and polite. Within a few minutes our order was ready to go. The other waitress walked out to-go order over to us. Very good customer service and our lunch was fantastic, hot and fresh. This is great to know since we're over in the area quite frequently. Plus, I saw in the cooler they had slices of cake and pie that looked beyond delicious. “Everything was good, the burger itself lacked flavor; you could tell they were a premade frozen pattie. Condiments were excellent, many to choose from for free, and the cost of extras... bacon, avocado were only 1.49 which isn't bad compared to some places. The food was all hot, which you don't normally get anywhere else. The chicken tenders were excellent!!! It's hard not to leave a 5 star review when they got everything right, except the meat was flavorless and that's what we went there for. Fries fresh, and a large fed 2 and we had quite a bit left over. Milkshakes were good and thick but you could tell it was flavoring and not made with fresh fruit for the strawberry or banana shake. The cashier and staff were very nice and friendly- didn't seemed to be inconvenienced because we were there...like most places lately. It was a bit small for seating but it was nice and clean- good for families or a sneaky snack definitely not a date location. We would go back in a pinch, but don't know if it would be my first go to.“

“I went to the one in Troy, for over a decade. Re: Rochester, I had some extraordinary chicken fajitas, pizza's is decent, pastas is okay, but more importantly, it's a rare place in Oakland county where you can have a variety of dishes and they're all pretty much down the pipe. Burgers are extremely good, and the staff is friendly with lots of smiles and good eye candy (cute staff), lots of TV's, and the lights aren't obnoxious, what more do you want?“

“Visiting from Miami it's important to stop at Big boy my Michigan staple. Have to say this particular location was on top of it, manager visited the table even though he was cooking in the kitchen. Two servers checked on how we were doing which is very uncommon these days. Great job with hospitality. My only comment would be is for those tables sitting right outside your expo window calling for your servers by name with the order up, could probably be done more professionally with a bell that got dinged to let them know orders are ready to be run... Just saying from one hospitality person to another... ?“
