“El Rincon Negriteno is a fantastic Honduran restaurant that recently opened where Triangulo Dorado used to be. It's a pretty small place, around nine tables, four of which were occupied when we got there for a weekend lunch. We were the only customers there who didn't speak Spanish but got by without a problem. We got: Pastelitos con Carne Molida ($14) - This dish consisted of 3 perfectly fried pastelitos, a cabbage salad/slaw, encurtido, and a small bowl of sopa de res. The sopa de res had a good beefy and vegetable flavor, with a slight warming spice and visible green pepper bits. The encurtido was a tart and slightly spicy mix of beet, carrot, jalapeno and onion pickles. For the cabbage salad, they gave each ingredient separately that you had to mix together; a small bowl of thinly sliced cabbage, a ton of queso that had a deep milky umami flavor, some diced tomato, cucumber and onion, and a dressing that was similar to a sweet thousand island. The pastelitos had a crunchy, very well fried exterior made of masa and were filled with ground beef and potato mixture. If you order these, eat them fast - the exterior starts to lose its crunch within 10-15 minutes!Carne Molida con Tajadas ($15) - This was the same filling used in the pastelitos on a bed of crisp plantain chips. It also came with the pickles and cabbage slaw. Everything was delicious, not much else to say. We will definitely be back to try the other Honduran specialties they have.“

“Delicious Honduran food! I specifically went for the Pollo con Tajadas that I had been craving and I was satisfied! I also tried their tamarind agua fresca and it was fresh and good as well. I highly recommend to anyone wanting to try for the first time or anyone that wants to get their Honduran food fix.“
