“This place does not disappoint The chicken breasts and wings are good size and not skimpy pieces. Broasted potatoes are not flat cut but have ridges or waves. Coleslaw is very good too. Definitely repeat takeout customers. Keep up the great job.“

“Ordered takeout for the first time here at around 10:30am and it was relatively busy with take out orders. They have a lunch special around that time which is a good deal. Comes with the main and rice/fries and soup/salad. Service was very good, the cashier was very nice and friendly although she was very busy packing orders and taking calls.“

The braised short ribs were also quite tasty and pulled apart easily. For dessert, we had the NY style cheesecake and the cream puff. It was a very generous portion and definitely hit the spot! The staff were friendly and fast with service. The restaurant had a classy ambiance with dimmer lighting but still lively at the same time. “I love this place! I haven't been to Captain D's since I lived in Nashville, TN in the late 1990's. I didn't realize this place was here until relatively recently. The fish and chicken are amazing, the shrimp is very good as well, the hush puppies are soft and delicious, the green beans and corn on the cob were excellent.“

“I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. The parking lot is always packed and we had an hour wait for a table so I had high expectations. The decor is nice. Calamari appetizer was really good and so was the bread. The lobster bisque is mediocre I’ve had better at every single other restaurant I’ve had it at. The lobster in the soup was good though. For my main course I had the filet mignon the sides were okay but the filet itself was perfectly cooked and was one of the best filets I have ever had. It made the entire meal. Dessert was cake from Christine’s Bakery I love that bakery it was excellent which is to be expected. Pretty good food.“

“Such a gem! This little spot in downtown Mount Clemens is such a great restaurant. The atmosphere is top notch, while it may seem small, it has two nice wings that bring you between bright and cozy to lowly lit and romantic. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Best cornbread I've ever had and their hush puppies are what hush puppies should be, at least this far north! Highly recommend you go and go again. The service was friendly and responsive too. “We were there on a Saturday night, party of 13, I did reserve table and waiter, who has served us before, Nick O., both the food and Nick were great. Though we had two tables, close together, we were treated so good, from the drinks to dessert it was great. Nick kept our drinks full, our appetizers were spot on, my grandson loved the calamari, first time trying it, our entrees were so good, a variety was tried by all, from chicken, pasta, steak, pork chops. We had a party of 8, and the service was efficient except we had 2 members who wanted separate bills and even reconfirmed, and the waiter agreed but did not accommodate them. Everybody's dinner was great. I call this place an upscale family diner be cause it has a nice bar area, but then the family diner feels in the restaurant area. The portions are always great, and the meals are like comfort food.“

“First time at Mr. G's. We had reservations and were promptly seated. Immediately served water and waiter came and took our drink orders. Brought bread basket and drinks quickly. He told us about the specials. We were not rushed at all throughout our meal. We ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and Aged Prosciutto as an appetizer. The Oysters were terrific. Aged Prosciutto came with aged Parmesan, olives, and roasted peppers. Also delicious. A crisp Caesar salad was enjoyed and the Lobster Bisque was delicious. Our entrees were the 9 ounce filet with the creamy feta spinach. The steak was quite tender and the spinach tasty. The lobster pasta was excellent. Served with chunks of lobster mixed with the linguine and a small tail on top. The sauce was spicy and quite delicious. Great cocktails were enjoyed. We were quite full so we did not order dessert. “Ordered to-go through Uber eats and the 3 cheese chicken penne had a slight issue (no chicken - but they fixed the issue for me very quickly and were very kind). The penne was so delicious though and so were the fall off the bone ribs! Great food, Yummy!!“
