“Friendly.Clean.Delicous. We dined in. This is not FAST FOOD. Worth the wait. Ordered Satay Chicken and Beef Pad Thai. Medium level was perfect for me. Hot Level had my nephew ?. Food portion is a nice size and price for dinner was $40. Enjoyed the music. We recommend and we will return soon. Free parking.“
“AMAZING seafood boil!! I live right around the corner and have been wanting to try for a long time and am so happy I finally did! My husband is from the south so we crave that creole style food once in a while and Ms. Felicia did not disappoint. The food was seasoned perfectly. Every other restaurant that offers this style seafood boil can step aside because there is no competition!“
“Finally! They was open when I went to the east side! I am one happy camper today! First things first I been trying to go here since like December but could not catch them open... so today! BABY! she was happy! What I had....Lemon pepper wings- amazing amazing amazing! They was so fresh when we got them. The hint of sour lemon was great! I'm thinking if I need to return later since they close at 8pm. Lol. 10.5/10Grits and jerk chicken- SPICY! and I loved it. Grits were a lil thick but mmmmmmmmmm.... 8/10Yams- thin and thick slices, sweet, and flavorful 10/10 from me!Mac-n- cheese - when I saw it....I questioned it... but after tasting it.... it was really good. Creamy and cheesy. Flavor was there 4 sure. 8/10It's black history month so u get a free small gumbo when u place a order. So go try it!Catfish- it was farm raised catfish. Nice and crispy. Seasons well. 9/10Greens- let me tell u! I'm not really a green eater unless they good. If I didn't order so much for I would have ate them all in one setting. Lol. These greens was so good! 10/10Corn bread - I could have done without, but she liked it.Gumbo- it was tasty! I liked it. A hint of burnt flavor but still delicious. 9/10Lemonade- super good! 10/10. “10x's Better Soul Food was just that . . . 10x's Better. I read the reviews and I was hesitant about giving them a try, but I am glad that my co-worker recommended them to me. Me Food was delicious and the customer service was great. Like many other restaurants, the prices were more, but the portion sizes are plentiful. I will certainly support them again. “Dressing was nasty, Greens was probably the best I ever had so tasty n juices, Mac n cheese was ok, and pork chop was overly greasy but tasty, overall I’m was hungry so I ate the Mac n cheese and a few bites of pork chops and all the greens but please make REAL “

“A group of us arrived for lunch, not knowing that this 8 Mile location is primarily carryout. Mz. Val was unphased, welcoming us with open arms, and we enjoyed a lovely meal together, seated at tables in the carryout waiting area. I ordered the perch, collard greens, and black eyed peas. Yummy. Go visit Mz. Val and her crew at Detroit Soul on 8 Mile!“
“At The Soul of Detroit, I had the most delicious supper. I ate the mac n' cheese, candied yams, and giant shrimp! The shrimp had great flavor and was FRESH! The mac n cheese was delicious, and the yams were just the right amount of sweet.“
