“Randomly had lunch here today with a friend, and it was some of the best breakfast food I've ever eaten. We absolutely fell in love with the place. Awesome food, great service, really nice cozy spot, fair prices and big portions. It's exactly what you would want out of a small local diner. This is our spot now!“
“My family and I stopped mainly for the beignets, but also for a brunch. It was a wonderful experience, they were very accommodating for our large family and were very kind. The food (and beignets) were great and reasonably priced. We will absolutely return.“
“WORTH. THE. WAIT. We've been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. The coffee is so good, the eggs are always cooked perfectly and the fresh bread for toast is spot on. The Cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls are the absolute best there are! LOVE the atmosphere.“

The waiter seemed to not remember order (food wasn't cooked exactly like ordered) or simple things like a straw for drinks of two take out containers (brought one)Parking: Lots of parking in front and back of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: They didn't offer anything to help entertain the kids while waiting, no coloring things or little picture books.“
“Frenchie's pastrami sandwich is truly one of the only things that makes living in Traverse City worth it. The bread is fresh, the pastrami is astonishingly juicy, and there's something about the mustard I can't express through words.Some say Frenchie, the man himself, is mean, or brash at the very least. There may be some truth to these claims. My dad says he once gave Frenchie a cooler and was never thanked. He yelled at my grandma once, but I'm sure he had his reasons. When he picks up the phone, you can tell how he's feeling by the way he says the word "Frenchie's." You can hear the 15 years of owning a restaurant in his voice. You would probably yell at people too, if you had his job.But none of his transgressions matter when the sandwich is melting in your mouth. I think Frenchie is delightful. Frankly, I like that you never really have to guess what kind of day he's having. It's almost what I imagine living in New York is like.Frenchie will always have my business, and my respect. I hope he never changes.“
“We came in as a group of 8 unannounced. The staff accommodated as fast as they could. Laine was our server and she did a wonderful job taking our drink and food order. She always had a smile on her face and had such wonderful personality. We appreciate her so much. She is a great asset to your team.“
“I ordered a chef's ? and boy did I get my money's worth. Not only was it delicious ? I had to bring the rest of it home. I highly recommend it. My husband enjoyed his Reuben sandwich very much. Well worth the stop for lunch. If we ever come back to Traverse City, we will definitely be back at Sparky's Diner ?.“
“Can be difficult to get a table (especially during the weekend) as a walk up but they do have reservations on line! Food is good, service can be slow if it’s busy but that can be expected. Interesting experience eating inside but in the hallway roped off from walking path. Makes for fun people watching!Parking can be pretty difficult on the weekend so make sure to leave plenty of time for that!“
