“Wallah one of the best Palestinian dishes served in the state of Michigan. From living in almost every corner and center within the state (including Dearborn), I have not had tasted middle eastern food so authentic yet true to the new generation of Palestinians. The servers and chefs were great, nice people who were down to sit and talk. I also ordered a caramel latte, and I truly mean it when I say, this coffee was so tasty so delicious, I can’t ever step foot in another coffee shop again. None will compare. Please trust me when I say, you NEED to go here.“

“Great place to hang out and get a beer. The two different beers that we tried were great ands the atmosphere was very comfortable. The only downside is that they don’t offer food. I did see that people were bringing food from other restaurants but it would be nice if they had some small appetizers or something. The beer was good enough to have us overlook the lack of food.“

Peninsula Cellars Winery • $$
11480 Center Rd, Traverse City

“This was our first stop of the day and we will definitely be back! David was so sweet, helpful, and talkative (not to mention very generous with samples)! The former schoolhouse was a hit with our group of three teachers! Is so adorable. I have seen the wine in some major retailers in metro Detroit so, to be honest, I didn't have the highest hopes for the quality. I was happily proven wrong! It was our favorite stop of the day- due to both the amazing customer service and the absolutely delicious ciders. We had so much fun we lost track of time and were late for our reservation up the road. The option to make your own 6 pack is like putting a kid in a candy store. We left with three 6 packs, 3 separate cans, two bottles of wine, and 2 prowlers of root beer. Most of this, however, would not have been purchased if David wasn't there. I dare say we have a new favorite place for ciders.“

“We had a great stay at Brengman Brothers Winery which is located just West of Grand Traverse Bay, North of Traverse City. We were fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to be hosted by Brengman Brothers through Harvest Host. The winery and tasting room is situated on a hill overlooking the orchards. The facility was beautiful and offered indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We shared a charcuterie board and tasted their wine which was excellent. My wife enjoyed the Chardonnay. We spent the night in the orchards in our RV. The climb to the top of the hill overlooking he orchards was fairly simple and we had a picnic table and fire ring. The sunrise over the orchard was magnificent. Thanks again to Brengman Brothers for the great hospitality.“

“You have to have lunch here! It's delicious!Wish I had come here sooner! They've been open since 2019 and today (2023) is the first time I've been in. I have really been missing out and so is anyone that has driven past and not pulled in. They should have lines out the door the food is delicious, healthy, filling and fairly priced. You must stop the next time you're looking for something good for your body and soul.I ordered the sweet potato chia bowl. It had marinated kale, brown rice, plenty of roasted turkey, and delightful sweet potatoes. It was really really good and totally worth the $13 or $14 I paid. Skip McDonald's (their neighbor), or a bowl at Qdoba. This is the place to be. And I try to find places that are food sensitivity conscious, and this place has so many options for gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.Plus the gentleman behind the counter (owner I presume), was kind and friendly. When the cook was serving up my dish through the window, the guy at he counter teased back to the cook "chia later!"...I love a good dad joke any day! And I don't know if I was dreaming, but I'm pretty sure the cook was drumming with his spatula on the grill in the back to the song over the speakers.I was there less than 10 minutes, but it was such a happy experience. I can't wait to go back!“

“Frenchie's pastrami sandwich is truly one of the only things that makes living in Traverse City worth it. The bread is fresh, the pastrami is astonishingly juicy, and there's something about the mustard I can't express through words. Some say Frenchie, the man himself, is mean, or brash at the very least. There may be some truth to these claims. My dad says he once gave Frenchie a cooler and was never thanked. He yelled at my grandma once, but I'm sure he had his reasons. When he picks up the phone, you can tell how he's feeling by the way he says the word "Frenchie's." You can hear the 15 years of owning a restaurant in his voice. You would probably yell at people too, if you had his job.But none of his transgressions matter when the sandwich is melting in your mouth. I think Frenchie is delightful. Frankly, I like that you never really have to guess what kind of day he's having. It's almost what I imagine living in New York is like.Frenchie will always have my business, and my respect. I hope he never changes.“
