“The hidden gem at this place is the pizza!? It is barely mentioned on the back of the menu but it is fantastic. Thin crust and quality cheese and toppings.Parking: Gravel lot, plenty of spaces.”
“Amazing pizza!!! The staff was super friendly and the pizza was hot and came out quick. I got a small meat lovers and it absolutely hit the spot, HIGHLY recommend!!”
“This is the first time we had dined in, at Trail Boss BBQ. We came at an "off" time, and had an excellent lunch, enjoying the Sampler Platter. Our server, Ryleigh, was very welcoming, opening the door for us, as it was windy the day we visited. The food came very quickly, and was very tasty. I especially enjoyed the brisket and hash brown casserole the best, along with tasting all 3 barbeque sauces available. My husband enjoyed the pulled pork the best, along with the spicier barbeque sauce. Ryleigh was very friendly, very attentive, and seemed to enjoy her job and the restaurant very much. We'll be back!”
“A good Sunday breakfast spot if you don't want to travel to either city. We've been here a handful of times for breakfast and the food is fast, good, and the service is friendly.”
“My go-to for quick coffee. Convenient locations around Columbia, a quick, easy drive through, exceptionally friendly service, a good variety of unique, seasonal drinks, and a well-designed app for payment and collecting reward points make Scooter's a good choice for coffee in Columbia. There are better coffees, but Scooter's is one of the best. I live for their peppermint mochas!Vegetarian options: Dairy substitutes availableDietary restrictions: Dairy substitutes availableParking: Location is drive-through only.”
“Food is good and usually comes out fast. Chips are average. The restaurant is attractive and a big asset for Ashland. They have outside seating, which is dog friendly. Their weakness is service.”
“I was doing work in Ashland and I decided to try Subway one day and now have eaten there during lunch many times. The food is always fresh and tastes great, especially the bread. The inside is clean and the two ladies working there are polite and professional!”
“Tried for the first time tonight, and found every dish excellent! Crispy rolls, Chicken with Mushrooms, Seafood plate, Lo mein , fried rice! all fresh, over generous quantity, and patient explanation of what was available, and not. Definitely a go to, for a Californian transplan hungry for Chinese!”
“Made a mobile order through the app, pulled up to the drive-thru, and gave my name. Order was correct and quick, the food looked like it did on the menu, not just slapped together, and the crew was awesome.”
“The way this place is managed is amazing compared to other locations nearby like in Columbia, MO where it takes you 20 minutes minimum to get your food with awful customer service. This Ashland, MO location is luxury compared to them and the reason why always comes to management and this location is managed properly and should be noted by the higher ups at McDonalds for a raise because of it. Their quick; efficient, and the food always taste better and fresher. Also, their kitchen, lobby and bathrooms are always clean.”
“Went to try for first time...the young man helping us at the counter was super helpful and friendly. Not impatient at all as you find with some places you visit. Our meals were very good and had great flavor! We will definitely be repeat customers!!!”
“I ate here alone on a work trip this week and it was amazing! I sat at the bar and the bartender's service was outstanding. He was so welcoming and attentive and helped me make a decision without seeming the least bit annoyed with how many questions I asked. The vibe is casual but definitely nicer than sweats and hoodies. The food and cocktail menu was so different and fun and I wanted to try everything on it. But I went with a glass of Cabernet and the bolognese and they were both amazing. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu.”
“These tacos were fantastic. They were also very expensive however. It took quite some time for us to get our tacos and margaritas, then the margaritas came out warm and very syrupy. I got the steak, carnitas, birria. They were each very good and topping them with the salsa bar items was a nice touch. The inside was very dingy and dark. I would suggest getting takeout. I would come here again for the tacos but the price, margaritas and atmosphere of the restaurant are holding this place back.”
“Rustic, inviting, friendly, tasty and tasteful. Place serving from and with passion. Provides delicious home spun table fare and provides young kids the opportunity to obtain life's work experiences.”
“Chicken salad sandwich was good. Bread was toasted nicely and there were good sized chicken chunks. Great waffle fries!? Had really good flavor. Staff were great.”
“We came in with a party of 5. They had a full house, we waited for NOTHING. Food AMAZING and PERFECT! Under priced. Awesome service! I will definitely be back weekly!”
“They got their gluten free bread (back?) today 03/05/24 and I have to say it’s fantastic. I love Schar bread. The Jamaican jerk turkey sandwich was really goodDietary restrictions: Gluten free bread!”
“We were there at 11:30 thus morning, and the place was very dirty... Restrooms had scraps of toilet paper all over, the cooks couldn't stop to clean off the counter, and the floor by the toppers was filthy... The buffet area was fully stocked with fresh ingredients and our waitress was everything we needed, just needed a good sweep up.”
“Was very happy with the quality and service. My server Allie was very sweet and also very good with providing me and my grandmother with recommendations for food. Allie also informed me that they frequently have live music! I am absolutely thrilled to come back ASAP?”
“Let me tell you one thing, the food is just average Chinese food. It’s not bad at all. Definitely give it a 6.8, but the dumplings were definitely a 10 and the service was wonderful, the lady that takes the orders and opened The restaurant is a saint. Just absolutely wonderful service. Make sure you order extra spicy!”
“It was our first time eating here…..from the moment we walked in, it was absolutely fabulous customer service. She was so sweet and bubbly. Had the bulgogi and it was fantastic. Could tell that the kimchi is fresh and homemade. All though they were super busy, they were fast, remained very professional and still very helpful to everyone who walked in. Definitely a new staple for us.”
“Absolutely one the best restaurants I've ever been to! Service was quick but extremely efficient especially for a party of 11. Hands down best food I've ever had while staying in Columbia, certainly going back each and every time I go back now!”
“I’m one of a group of seniors who meet at Fuzzy’s every Tuesday. We love the food and the discounts on Tacos every Taco Tuesday. One of main attractions though is the friendly staff. We are particularly fond of Tanya. We all agree that she is a huge asset to our dining experience.”
“Update Nov. 1st:OK, so the Peach/Raspberry pieis good, but it could use more filling and possibly remove the seeds from the Raspberry filling. Now, for their best seller Strawberry White Chocolate, it's Devine, and the crust on both was tasty and perfect. So, Columbia people and Travelers need to stop in and try this pie for sure. Wish I would have gotten a few savory pies for dinner now. Guess I'll have to go back and try some. When I'm in any city, I love to check out the pastry world, be it bakeries or pies places. ? This place intrigued me big time, as any local business run by women I always love to support. Most times, their baked goods are Da Bomb! This place definitely looked interesting on their pie flavors, mind you sweet along with savory. Not only that, they have different sizes of pies, too! I haven't tried mine yet, but the lady at the register was warm and welcoming both when you walked in along with checking out. Normally, I ask their names so I can refer to them specifically. My apologies as I didn't this time. Peggy Jean's is definitely a place to stop and shop. You can't go wrong. Where else can you get something for a dinner entree along with dessert. We browsed the small 6-inch pies and ended up with a German chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, blackberry, peach & Raspberry, and White Chocolate Strawberry I know, but a couple were frozen, so they will last longer. We had another customer tell us we need to try one of the Pot Roast Pot Pies. If I didn't just have lunch, I probably would have tried one. See their menu for all the options. If you live in Columbia and haven't been there, why? I would be in trouble if I lived in Columbia for sure. Check back for an update once we try out of goodies. Until then, if you're in Columbia, get over to Peggy Jean's. You won't be sorry, and you're supporting a local businesswoman!”
“Trip #2 to Como Smoke South. My wife and I trek from Georgia to Columbia to visit my folks, and as a bbq aficionado, we make it a point to trek 3 hours out of our way to hit Memphis, and we used to ride out to KC each year to hit Slapz, which I still think has the best burnt ends in the country. But that has changed. We stole a lot of time from the bartender, Josh, who kept a smile on his face the whole time and made sure we were dialed in on any and all information we asked for. Excellent service. The smoked turkey here is insane. Best turkey I've ever had, twice. Juicy, flavorful, smokey. Perfect.Okra is fried to perfection, again, not greasy, with an awesome sauce. The baked beans were peppery and thick and some of the best I've had, as I'm not a huge fan of the overly sweet sugary baked beans. The coup de gras were these Reuben Egg rolls. Not for everyone, I'm sure, but they were about the best thing I could have come to hope for as a surprise special.Burnt ends this time were a bit fatty for my taste, with good flavor, and the brisket was a bit dry, but their little heat bbq sauce is amazing, and turned it into utter deliciousness.Avoid the Mac, order the loaded potato salad.BEST BBQ IN THE COUNTRY? No, but, the best I've had outside of KC, Memphis, and a few spots in Texas.”
“Where do I start?? From the AWESOME tasting food, the COOL cashier, the fact that it's Veteran-owned, the GREAT FOOD!!! YES, the food makes the competitor's price even MORE expensive (as Mad Cow prices are moderately priced in comparison (when WE visited there for dinner tonight at least). Will DEFINITELY stop by THIS burger place over ANY other when we return to the Columbia MO area!!”
“Hubby and I went there for the first time tonight, pleasantly surprised with the food and atmosphere. Prices aren't bad at all. We will definitely be going back, it's small and quaint per say. We felt as we did when we're back home at one of our favorite places, before moving up here 20 yrs ”
“The line was long last time we went (it's a popular place!) so we went through the drive through. Usually friendly service and always a fun (and tasty!) treat for our family!”
“My husband and I had dinner together and we had the best waitress. Lindsey was attentive and very kind. I highly recommend requesting her. The food was great as always, of course.”
“Great service. Lovely atmosphere. A bit pricey for what we got, BUT I do love supporting a business like this! We will go back. Can't wait to try some of their interesting looking cocktails and other menu offerings.”
