“Steak ‘n Shake restaurants in St Louis have all but disappeared and the quality was shaky for awhile but this location is the BOMB! The employees are amazingly friendly and quick. The food is piping hot and so fantastic. This change has just happened in the last few months so please give this location a try! “I wasn't impressed with the decor. It's not in the best part of town or the worst. The parking lot is small. Expect to be there a while. They cook as you order. The person who took my order was pleasant but not inviting. They really season the food. The food was pretty good, especially the buffalo chicken ranch. I wouldn't mind trying something different and getting the buffalo chicken ranch again. The barbecue turkey ribs was okay. The buffalo chicken ranch was so much better to me.“

“I ordered two $4 Senior specials, one lasagna and one spaghetti and meatballs. The meals come with two breadsticks and a choice of a salad or a slice of pizza. The lasagna wasn’t anything special. The spaghetti with meatballs came with two meatballs. I added a side of 3 additional meatballs for $2. The spaghetti I would order again. The portions were smaller but you can’t beat the price. Both salads were fresh and the breadsticks were delicious. My recommendation on the lasagna is add more meat. The ratios didn’t taste right.“

“This place was pretty nice for my first time going. They have a lot of sauces to choose from for the wings. I got spicy blue cheese and honey hot garlic. Both were pretty delicious. “They have such a great take on chicken wings! The wings themselves are very delicious. So much meat on the bone. They're cooked to perfection, still nice and juicy, with a nice crunch from the breading. The boneless wings are huge and are pretty much big pieces of cut up breasts. The sauces are great too. Many of them are Asian twists on classic styles. The sides are great too. Very good all around.“

The restaurant was clean and everything at the self serve counter was well stocked. I still call it "Red Lion" and their service has been on point and top notch since they opened and they have always served "Restaurant Grade Roast Beef". The food is always hot, fresh, good and tasty. Red Lion is steps above "fast food" and is actually a "Fast Serve Restaurant" not at all in the "Fast Food Classification"“

“Ate here after spending some time at the zoo. Food was served promptly and correctly but what I really want to comment on is a scene I witnessed. One of the workers (I didn’t get his name - he was wearing a white hat and a white apron) took care to take a meal to a man who had difficulty walking due to a back disability.
