“Great date spot patio - wonderful outdoor atmosphere. Super attentive waitstaff (great attention, recommendations, and personality). Cool cocktails and some really good beers available. The food was outstanding! The menu was basically laid out in order of smallest to biggest plates; the snacks were very much snack-sized, the small plates were still plenty enough to share, and the entrees were generous. Very creative and fun cuisine. The white anchovies that we requested on the side of our (outstandingly fresh and summery) tomato salad were the absolute best anchovies I have ever had - if you like anchovies and they have "white anchovies" on the menu, order! (Our waitress was nice enough to check in the restaurant pantry to find out the brand for me, which was very appreciated.) Though we were stuffed, we had dessert and the chocolate cake we ordered was decadent and a wonderful end to a fun and romantic meal. Totally recommend Little Fox, especially for a spontaneous date night out, whether you want to graze and sip cocktails or get a full dinner.“

“Edit..we have been back since my review. The rude guy at the door is gone. Everyone is friendly and the food is beyond amazing!!Make sure if you want to try this place out, you make reservations. My friend and I decided last minute to try the restaurant out because I had read about it on line. When we arrived, we were informed that there would be a wait. I asked about seating at the bar because most places it is open seating. Let me tell you the host was so condescending that it was uncomfortable. There is no waiting area and he acted alarmed that I was going to approach the bar to get a glass of wine. He then informed us it was a 2 hour wait. After driving around forever trying to find a place to park and having much anticipation of trying Sado we just left. I rarely leave a bad review anywhere but I realize this place is new and hope they work on their customer service. I am sure the food will be amazing“

“So good we went two nights in a row, ordering different food each time. Four veteran travelers used to great food all agreed Acero's is on a very short list of best restaurants; not just in St. Louis, but anywhere! Just amazing food, staff and ambience. The high ratings from thousands are real, earned and deserved! Enjoy!“

“We were in attendance for Monthly Girlfriend luncheon. Only 1 of us 4 had visited Hendel's in the distant past and she chose the restaurant. You don't see a lot of truly warm and cozy restaurants nestled within the neighborhood that's prospered. The food was good and service was excellent and as we have visited restaurants month after months, it's obvious that cooks aren't same. There is space for indoor & outdoor eating with limited parking. Nice afternoon luncheon experience ?Parking: Free parking in rear where u have a short walk from vehicle into establishment, but if full being that it's sitting in residential area, one can park on side street, no meters, & without inconveniencing residents.Kid-friendliness: Kids were running around where we sat indoors but no one seemed disturbed by their antics ?“

“The food was overall good but not great or life changing. We are big fans of Vicia and were hoping for the same complexity of flavors but did not find it in all the dishes here - only some of them.We ordered:Gougeres - cheese fondue and popovers. Fondue was good but the popovers were kind of doughy and dense.Beef tartare - fine, not great - the tartare was a bit flavorless and flat despite being served with a jusFrench onion soup - good! No complaints.Mussels - the star of the show, 5/5, some of the best mussels I’ve hadPain perdu - a carmelized dessert with toasted brioche and Clementine’s ice cream that was delicious.Special shout out to the mocktail Papillon. I don’t like when mocktails are just fruit juice but this one really had the complexity and slight bitterness of a cocktail.Overall we would come back but there are flavor profiles of some dishes that could be elevated to make this a 5/5 meal.“
“Pagan Wine Bar in Central West End is a bookstore. No wait, it's a wine bar. Tucked away but right there in front of you, it's a quirky, offbeat spot. The cocktails here are unique concoctions. The bar itself can accommodate probably 25 people. It's very small and intimate. The group of five of us had such a great time. My drink is fantastic.“

“My partner and I enjoyed the to-die-for veal lasagna and scrumptious braised beef ravioli with octopus to start. I cannot recommend the food more highly, and the cocktails are competitively tasting! With art and low light, the environment inside was lovely to enjoy dinner and drinks in. Don't pass this one up!“

“My husband and I live five minutes from here, we're trying to check out more Midtown spots. I happened across this place looking for somewhere to grab a drink before a late dinner reservation, and figured we would give it a try. We were only there about 30 minutes and sat at the bar. The bartender was so nice and chit chatted with us while he made drinks. All the drinks looked fantastic and I will definitely be back for cocktails. I just had a glass of wine and my husband a local beer so nothing too crazy. But they did have natural wines which are usually hard to find any my favorite, so I was happy! Great experience and seems like a cool spot.“

“I’ll probably finish writing my novel because of Black Mountain. Perfect spot to relax and get some work done on a Sunday. It’s not a laptop spot per they don’t make it weird if it’s not too crowded. Great select of wines, great fries - feels like you’re in northern france or Belgium or even central west end at duffs or coffee cartel (iykyk)… extra bonus for the literal wood fire aromas soothing everyone’s soul“

“The breweries cellar serving up some of the best beers made in the world. With an ever changing draft list and an extensive bottle list from the cellar on top of the private and personal experience the small but unique space creates, you are bound to have a great experience. The staff is great and incredibly knowledgeable. In addition my favorite experiences are the multiple special events they have a year serving up their more limited beers.“

“Somehow I forgot to review SSC when I ate here a few months ago, which is weird because I tell everyone how great it was.The ambiance here is very nice and the service is fantastic. But of course the food is the driving force here. The beef tartare was an awesome and unique appetizer that you'll only see at a high end place. The broccoli salad was excellent and presented beautifully. The duck was by far the best I've ever had. Perfectly cooked on the inside with an amazing crunch and sauce on the outside. The chicken and pasta were also both great.I keep a list of restaurants in St Louis to try, from burger places to high end establishments. Sidney Street Cafe will remain at the top of that list and I'll be back for sure.“
“We love Clayton Winehouse! We frequently go there at the beginning of date night for a glass (or two, three) before dinner. The staff is wonderful: friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about wine. We hosted a party in their downstairs event space which was wonderful. The even price was reasonable and they were so very easy to work with.“

“Celebrated our 36th anniversary here. We shared the shrimp ceviche, truffle fries and a bottle of champagne. I feasted on the salmon pad Thai while my husband had the Denver Waygu steak. A complementary flourless chocolate torte topped off a fantastic meal. David is the best server! Thank you for sharing our special evening with us!“

“Well aren’t you just a pleasant and super convenient surprise inside the Fox!Byzantine-inspired, Curtain Call Lounge was the first champagne bar in St. Louis. It had an extensive list of champagne and bubbly. What we got. Goat cheese dip - who else is sold on gooey things served in a cast iron skillet? ✋ gooey and perfect! Summer Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad - was huge and refreshing!? We had to get the Ahi Tuna Salad. It was amazing too. I loved the sauce this came with.? If fries is on the menu, they will be ordered. It’s the law. Freshly fried and crispy! If you’re headed to a Fox Show, here is a good spot to try. It’s bustling around show times! Show memorabilia everywhere gives it a nice touch.Try it out!“

“The food was excellent. Very well seasoned. The service was spectacular. And each course came out in an expeditious amount of time, such that I never felt like I was waiting between courses. I had the Paloma cocktail and another one called “Cello.” Both savory and delicious. A very well managed establishment.“

“We went all out tonight since we just received our yearly bonuses. This is the first time we went for a 5 course chef designed meals and it did not disappoint. We enjoyed every bite. We also order wine pairing- that is a lot more wine than we are used to . We really enjoy everything and thanks for an unforgettable experience.“

“I absolutely love Vino. the venue is always friendly and welcoming. They offer indoor seating with couches as well as tables. AND a sidewalk patio that has heaters for when the weather cools. And the drink selections do not disappoint. Although their name implies wine, they have a full bar replete with whatever spirit you prefer. I have not eaten any food yet, but I'm sure that is awesome as well.“
“Service was so friendly and efficient! You order and pay at the cashier and then someone brings your food to the table. The ambiance was fine. It's basically a wine shop with a row of tables. Great for a casual lunch. There is a display of sardine cans and such above the kitchen -- very cute! I had the prosciutto sandwich. It was delicious!“

“This is such a nice place for a date night or evening out with friends. They have a patio for nice weather, and the inside is intimately lit with small tables and some bar seats. I only ordered wine, but the food looked good as well. They do tastings on Tuesdays.Parking: Street parking is metered during the day, free in evenings. There's also a lot.“

“This is a VERY nice restaurant in Clayton. I didn't realize it was fine dining and showed up in a hoodie and jeans. At first, I was concerned that I would be turned away or treated differently because of my attire, but that wasn't the case. We ( my son and I) were led to a booth and ordered drinks. My son ordered a burger, which looked delicious. He confirmed that it was. I ordered the lobster bisque, and it was to die for!! Velvety smooth and full of chunks of lobster! Honestly, the BEST lobster bisque I've ever had! For dessert, we had cheesecake, and again, it was divine! The atmosphere is beautiful!! You are immediately filled with a sense of calm. Its the kind of place you would take someone for a very special occasion...like a marriage proposal. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. We were well taken care of and will definitely be back!Kid-friendliness: It is NOT a place for small children.“

“Originally from STL but haven't lived there for two decades. When I am there, approximately once a year, Olio is the number one place I need to go. Everything they turn out is amazingly well thought out with creativity and passion second to none. I consistently dream about their egg salad... the decor and vibe is perfect, service is always top notch... there is absolutely nothing I would change about this place.“

“Went for the Rocky Maverick show 10/16 and it was my first time on this side of the venue. I walked in and the guy who greeted me looked at the digital ticket, then led to my seat. I just love the ambiance and the lighting makes it so much more intimate. I didn't eat food, but definitely ordered a couple of whiskey mules that were strong and delicious! Shout out to Louis(the bartender) for his professionalism, but still able to mingle with partrons and bartend properly! Bathrooms were super clean, but inconveniently on the lower level lolbvs. I gotta say Rocky Maverick and his band left us with an experience to last a lifetime and I look forward to attending more shows.“
“What a cute gem in Maplewood! i don’t know much about wine, but i told Brian, the owner, what i liked and he introduced me to some wines and vintners I didn’t know about and liked very much!He is passionate about small wineries and wine makers who are also really passionate about their craft. It’s a very chill place, and they do an occasional wine school and pairings. I’ll definitely be back!“

“It's been years since I've been here and so happy that I visited because now this place will become a staple in my rotation. Friday evening visit around 6p and happy that seating was available without a wait. Open seating, opted for a space near the kitchen. Now, normally, seating near the kitchen wouldn't be appealing, but the overall vibe here makes up for the open kitchen view. Starving, I wasted no time ordering. Glass of Malbec and for the meal, Chicken Pesto sandwich, sauces on the side and Side order of Tots. The sandwich was awesome! Chicken was juicy, Bacon was crisp and the toasted buttered bread rounded it out. I enjoyed the mustard aioli with this better than the pesto that it comes up, so I recommend getting the sauces on the side. The tots are housemade and feel like mashed potatoes turned into tots. They are tasty also with the mustard aioli. Thoroughly enjoyed this visit and will be here more often.“

“My friend and I stopped in at Barcelona for some drinks and tapas - I really liked my sangria, very light and refreshing. Her red wine was full bodied and delicious - also a heavy pour! We got the goat cheese tomato sauce dip with fresh garlic bread as well as spinach and mushroom empanadas. The goat cheese dip was yummy and warm and fresh, the garlic bread was fresh out of the oven and the perfect addition. The spinach and mushroom empanadas were good, lots of cumin in them haha. They came with a yummy dip, but I also dipped them in the goat cheese dip. Our waiter was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of. The overall ambiance was nice, it wasn't too full on a Tuesday evening, but we didn't mind!“

“Celebrated our daughter’s birthday at Fleming’s tonight. Ordered a medium rare ribeye and it came out medium. They were very apologetic and got us a medium rare one promptly. Excellent food, service, and management. Much better and smarter than J. Gilbert’s who got us a bad steak and wouldn’t apologize if or replace it. They just shrugged. Looking forward to our next visit at Fleming’s despite the rather pricey price tag. At least you get what you pay for there!“

“We spent our anniversary on a day date around St. Louis and headed to Mama’s for lunch. The fresh bread was awesome, and my husband and I shared the vegetable beef soup, which was so, so good on this frigid day. Our entrees were spaghetti with meatballs and beef ravioli with meat sauce. The flavor of the meatballs was fantastic and the sauce was perfect. We WILL be back. Definitely recommend this local small business. ❤️“

“We brought my mom here before the theater because it seemed right up her alley - charcuterie. We came in before the dinner rush and had fantastic service. The cocktail menu was great and they had some amazing wine options. We grabbed a few small plates to share and everything was great. We got the mushroom pate which was a little bland and we could have done without, but everything else we tried had great flavor profiles. The cheese obviously stole the show - we wanted to try all of them. They're very sharing with their cheese portions which was appreciated since there were four of us. We only wished they served more bread because it was so buttery and soft. There was not enough to go around! A very good experience, I'll definitely be back with my husband for wine and cheese.“

“We went to Brennan's on a Saturday night and I feel like we were lucky to get a table inside! We were there kind of early because we had an early dinner reservation. It was packed but we found a table big enough for 6. We just ordered drinks and a late night snack. It was really loud and hard to hear with a group that big, but that's alright. The drinks and service were good! It's a great place in the Central West End to go for before or after dinner drinks“

“Cute wine bar with indoor and outdoor seating. They have an abundance of wine options and can offer assistance in choosing. Their espresso martinis are also delicious. I had the artichoke dip and had no complaints. It was tasteful and creamy. They also have late night happy hour starting at 9pm which includes half off wines on any bottle of wine they already have open and corked as well as $2 Busch and some other options! Service was a little slow but everyone was super friendly and they all support each other in helping give the best service to their customers as possible.“
