“Visited today (4/11/24) and am happy to report that Tiki Huna makes a fine adult beverage. This is clearly a labor of love establishment, and it shows. Had an enjoyable conversation with the owner about all things tiki, other tiki bars, and whether homemade falernum is better than purchased falernum (it depends, really). Highly recommend!“
“We had the BEST time at the Dolly Parton pop-up bar! The drinks were yummy and the snacks we ordered were very good. The entertainment was awesome as well. They played a good mix of Dolly music along with other very talented female singers! We're all excited for the next pop-up!“
“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“
“Me and my sweetheart were there last Saturday. He had chicken and I had the fish. Absolutely delicious! We also had drinks. The bartender and waitresses were outstanding and extremely cordial. The service is great, food great, portions great. Drinks are really good! We will be definitely coming again.“
“We had only been to Rockhille Grilel once before and didn't have a great experience. Buuuut, we decided to give it another try during their Happy Hour. I got their Bruschetta and it was the BEST I've ever eaten and so delightfully plated. Simple, yet classic. Our server, Trevor was EXCELLENT. The Rockhill Grille will DEFINITELY be on our, "regular" list“
“Super fun whiskey tour experience! Ben was an amazing tour guide and we enjoyed learning about their business and whiskey adventure. The Old Fashion cocktail was the best I have ever had and the coffee drink was great too! I can’t wait to see where this company goes in the next 5 years. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town!“
“My husband and I have been to Swordfish Tom’s at least half a dozen times in the past couple of years and it’s always been a top-notch experience. Sure, sometimes you have to wait outside for availability, but it’s worth the wait and I personally think it adds to the “speak-easy” vibes. Drinks are phenomenal and they always seem to have a wide variety of cocktail options. Even if you don’t see something on the list that sparks your interest, the bartenders has always been so friendly and willing to spin up pretty much anything your heart desires! We love it for a date night!“
“My boyfriend and I have been taking our dogs there for quite a while now. Not only our dogs love it so much. We love the employees there. They all treat our dogs like their own and ALWAYS greet them when we get there. I will forever recommend this place for anyone.“
“First time eating here and had a great experience. The food was incredible and the staff were so nice and accommodating. The manager, Lina was able to get us in even though we had a couple extra people than our initial reservation was for. Our server, Lexi did a phenomenal job recommending appetizers and rolls. We can’t wait to come back!“
“Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. Also, check out the hotel bar if you have some time before or after.Update: We’ve been back several times now. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is amazing! Highly recommend!“
“Great atmosphere and opportunity to hear authentic, live Kansas City jazz. Saturdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. listen to the Rod Fleeman Trio and hear Rod, (Guitar,) Ray DeMarche (drums) and Gerald Spaites (bass) play original numbers. Other groups all night long.“
“This is such a cool place with super talented singers and bartenders!! Love the energy they bring to the table. The server on the other hand, was so rude and inhospitable, which seemed very out of place. He stole a lot of the energy the others work so hard to create.“
“Been here twice. Once for their tour & again for a Green Dirt Farm Cheese & Cocktail tasting. Staff is courteous, fun & adaptable as situations warrant. Beautiful historic restoration that is worth the trip alone. Cocktails are varied, marvelous, and something for all tastes. Only knock is directions to get there should avoid the train tracks that can block streets for hours. Come in the back way off Independence Street—don’t use the Front Street route.“
“Tried this place for the first time on a Friday at 7:30 and we were seated immediately with no reservation. The space was small, but very cool and good vibes. Drinks were good and the servers/bartenders know what they are talking about. I'll have to try food next time I'm there“
“Excellent experience overall !Divine ambiance — dim lighting, cool music (but you can still hear your convos) and comfy/trendy seating options. They serve unique & strong cocktails. Our food was also great.Kaleb was the BEST server! He was incredibly personable, professional and patient with my friend & I. He was VERY knowledgable of the menu and how the drinks are prepared. He made us feel welcomed, heard & relaxed.Definitely ask for Kaleb — he was a pleasure!“
“What a beautiful space for drinks and dinner! There's a fun holiday cocktail menu and all our small plates (Harissa Shrimp, Bolognese Pasta, and Seared Tuna) were wonderful. Every dish that was carried out to other tables looked amazing. The service was great too, and hope we can go back someday soon!“
“This is a super cool book bar. My book club meets here once a month (make sure to make a reservation for large groups as seating is limited). They have a large cocktail and cocktail menu (both are delicious)! This is primarily a drinks bar, food is limited to a few prepackaged snacks. You can also buy some of your fav books here. For parking, I would recommend the garage next door. It has reasonable prices and always has lots of spaces and it adjacent to Afterword.“
“We had the best Saturday fun-day here. Logan and Candice were friendly, fun, engaging, and hilarious. The crowd was chill and friendly. Any bar with jcheese balls is a win, and the overall design and vibe of the bar is top notch. I am sad we don’t live closer, but we can’t wait to go back. Thanks for an awesome day!“
“I had the spicy margarita and it was excellent. We sat outside and it was nice. The spicy margarity comes in spice level 1-10. I had a 6, then an 8. I will order the 10 next time to see how hot it goes. They do not serve food. Not a,bad thing, but just being informative.“
“I stopped to take pictures of the Chiefs paintings (very cool). This place is next to it. I went in and ordered a slab of ribs. Ribs were excellent !! Tim and the customers were very friendly. Nice hangout, nice food, nice people. I'll be back.“
“The food was great and the waitress was wonderful with the kids. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. It was a neat experience, like being back in Germany.Parking: Parking was difficult to findKid-friendliness: They brought the kids their own plastic utensils, they had their own menu's as well.“
“Overall a great place; this has become mine and my wife's local spot.Twice monthly pool tournaments; an assortment of areas to play checks, chess, or dice; local beers; and fantastic cocktails. One of the best old fashioned I've had in a while (if you're a fan of Rye, if not, make sure to mention it).Have spent several long nights here shooting pool and enjoying good company.Parking: Street parking directly next to the bar, but its a gamble if there will be any available. You may have to drive further down and take a short walk.“
“After a mediocre dining experience in Independence area, we got on yelp to find a cocktail bar to kill the rest of our night. We found wine down 109, and it had a pretty good rating so we thought we would give it a try. It was a super friendly place and the owner/bartender was very pleasant, and visited with us for quite a while. I tried some of their specialty drinks. Each were very good and unique. If you're looking for a good hometown, feel in a bar, this is the place. The prices are very reasonable as well.“
“Cliff's has been come a regular spot for my wife and I. Whether we get take out or dine in, the food is always fantastic. It's also great when there is live music. This is our favorite spot for sure! I recommend the BBQ Burger; there are great gluten free options as well. 10/10“
“My husband and I, along with four friends, enjoyed an evening at The Puttery on Saturday and weren't disappointed. It is well executed, and we were greeted immediately by our Concierge, David, who was superb at making sure we had everything we needed. He checked on us frequently. The ambience is very cool with spectacular lighting, artwork and dark wood. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into it, and expense seemed to be no problem. We ordered chips and dips and a charcuterie board, which were filling and delicious. The charcuterie board, in particular, was five star and plentiful for six people. Drinks were very good too. Hats off to the kitchen and the bartender. They definitely know what they're doing. We had a blast playing miniature golf...some courses are more interesting than others, but hearing the crowd hooting and hollering by a missed putt or a hole-in-one added to the excitement of the evening. We'd definitely go back. It's such a great addition to Kansas City.“
“Really fun and laid back spot. Apparently the owner is my second cousin once removed (I think) so my dad was excited to go here when visiting from AR. It was a beautiful day and I love that on such days they’re open to the outdoors. That plus some great early 2000s pop punk classics really made for a great atmosphere. I asked for their most popular drink which was their blueberry specialty cocktail. It was delicious!“
“This is a good place. Felt a bit like home with the Aussie pictures on the wall. Good breakfast. They make a nice flat white. The machines are geared so they can do "short shots" (ristretto) so the coffee actually tastes good. (A lot of places are just geared for "long shots" (espresso) so coffees tend to just be brown milk bevs). Had me some Vegemite toast. Ok, all they needed to do was spread some on bread, but at least the bread was great, and whoever was spreading knew how to do it- that's easy to get wrong for a non Aussie. I also had a brekkie sandwich with egg, spinach, avo, and it was done the Australian way. As soon as I bit into it, I had perfect yolk all over my hands. That's how it's done. Breakfast needs to be a messy business! Didn't try the pies but they looked and smelled great. It's honestly not really much of an Aussie hang if that's what you are after. I'm not really sure how many Australians are in this neck of the woods - I drove in from North Carolina. I understand the owners are Aussies but they are not always there. But the food and coffee is good. It's worth a stop-in.“
“Very relaxed atmosphere and older crowd.. drinks are very very reasonable and you get a good quality drink for what you pay When I leave the house that's normally where I go and then back home again not because there isn't anywhere else to go here in Kansas City Kansas which there is it's just that I prefer this place.. you will find friendly, smiling people just ready to two step, enjoy, the night and make it home safely. That's my experience on a Friday night.“
“The food is a tad pricey for my personal budget but it is always very good and fresh. Their servers are very nice (Cy in particular) I come here with friends to play pool often, and it's never too busy when we go. This place is always clean and pretty cozy!I recommend their bread pudding.Parking: They have an okay sized parking lot, I usually don't have issues with it being full.“
“You come here after you have had dinner to get some GREAT choices for all kinds of draft. They pour the new Boulevard strawberry wheat that was smooth and so good. Lots of gathering space and cool industrial atmosphere. You can’t get food here, but any type of craft beer is here. Sea Dog on draft is here as well—awesome! This is where you want to meet up with all your friends to laugh and tell stories as you enjoy a drink or two or three.“
“Food was great, yummy veggie options, and the service was excellent. Every single person was smiling and helpful- you just don’t find that environment everywhere these days. Thanks for a great dinner (and thanks Diana and the rest of the staff for being awesome!)“
“Great bar, i love the live music and the atmosphere within the bar. The food was delicious i recommend the chicken sandwich with season fries! Will definitely be coming back! Oh and the service was amazing! Thank you for a good first time experience!“
“My boyfriend and I LOVE micheladas, it is our thing. So we set out to find the best ones in town. I had seen people I know post about it so we decided to try it out. and oh my gosh. these are the BEST in town. They are very authentic. You can get them to go which is cool and also they come in a big cup with chamoy on the side. They put the right amount of beer and other ingredients, they just do it right every time. My bf and I always get regular michelada with the dried meat on it and it tastes really good. The workers are always super nice to attend to us and make our drinks very fast. There is always people when we go in just chilling with their friends and it is a chill place to just have a drink. They also serve fruit with tajin and other things that are fruit with lime and tajin/ spicy. for sure recommend for an authentic michelada!“
“The first bite of the mushroom doughnuts with taleggio sauce sealed my positive review of @bar.medici in pen. This chewy not-quite-doughnut-texture bread bite is dusted with umami and dunked in the highest end of "cheese dips." 11/10. Worth going here for the cocktails and this. The salad escarole was great too though: one of those dishes that tastes like each individual ingredient at its peak, with plenty of salt and deep fried bacon bits. The spaghetti a la chittara was good: delicate, perfectly cooked noodles, the right hint of crab, and the Aleppo pepper dust on top is brilliant. I would have taken a bit more creaminess/sauce (I am a sauce girl, after all). The gelato was so much better (and bigger) than I expected. It's indescribably creamy as only the best European gelatos are and the flavor is at 11. The pistachio gelato isn't so much pistachio-flavored cream as it is a ball of creamy, cold, intense pistachio flavor. So good, but the toasted marshmallow was even better: a few crumbles of graham cracker to give crunch to the perfectly smooth gelato. 10/10 The cocktails were wonderful. On par with the other members of this restaurant/bar group with creative flavor pairings and beautiful presentation. I think my favorite was the Tribune (rye, gin, fig, thyme, cider), which the server said was oddly like a Jack and Coke (and she was right). We also had the focaccia, which was just ok (I would have rather had 3 more doughnuts!), the beef tartare (which I couldn't taste any of the truffle or egg yolk in, so it wasn't really as rich as I hoped), the sword fish (perfectly cooked but the sauce is really the star -- you could just eat the greens and sauce and it would hold all of its appeal), and a lovely little roulette of beef in a spicy tomato based sauce. Service was attentive (beware, they'll take your plate before you finish swiping up the yummy sauce!), and we didn't feel rushed at all. We also got plenty to eat and didn't spend quite as much as I expected (I expected the $$$$, haha).“
“Loved The Mercury Room. I was afraid we would feel a little out of place but the staff was so inviting and helpful. I appreciate all the thought and care that goes into crafting all the drinks. We loved sitting at the bar and watching the bartender work his magic. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting, it’s not just the view it’s the whole ambience and experience. The staff take the experience over the top.“
“This is a hidden gem in Johnson County! Intimate cocktail bar with an amazing vibe. The only place around with an extensive Mocktail (Non-alcohol) menu! Great for a unique couple outing or meetup with a friend. Staff is professional and great!“
“Was really good! Some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Came in during Sunday happy hour after 4 and was told all cocktails are $2 off, however got charged full price for one of hours. Bartender was too busy to ask about it after we got the itemized receipt. Overall, delicious. Just wish we would have gotten the full special.“
“The best pancakes I ever had …just one word AMAZING… we went to this place for breakfast and have ordered steel cut oats and pancakes. With oats they have provided toast and butter. The pancakes are very large and the butter that they gave with it is really good in taste.I just had one word for this restaurant..AMAZING… highly recommended“
“RUN, do not walk, to this establishment. Let me tell you something... If you come to KC and don't eat here, you are doing yourself an INJUSTICE!!! I thought the Smash Burger was the best thing I had ever put in my mouth and then I tried the S'mores and TRANSCENDED from my body. Moody country rustic vibe beautifully and successfully done. The service was personable and not overdone and every cocktail tasted like it was hand rafted specifically for me. I will fly back here for this restaurant alone. This place looks like something you would see on Instagram and be like, "I'm visiting that city just to go there."Parking: Several spots immediately next to and around the building.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get into the restaurant.“
“I cannot say enough good things about 1900. We've dined here several times and are never disappointed. The food is some of the best in KC. The atmosphere is laid back, cozy and inviting. The service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about wine and food. We recently had NYE dinner here and had a wonderful dinner with expertly paired wines.“
“This place is never a miss.Advice: make sure to join the waitlist via Yelp.Their bacon is amazing.Their coffee has a deep flavor.Their mimosas are good.Their Hashbrowns are to die for.And most importantly, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE EGGS BENEDICT.Their service is always top tier so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great brunch place to try!“
“Husband and I stopped in and got The La Hog Pizza. it was great as well as Dealer's Choice bucket of domestic beers. Great lunch ! We always enjoy it here and indoor or outdoor seating depending on the mood. Thank you to all staff who have checked on us from the time we entered until we closed out our check. We appreciate you all !“
“I don't know why it took me so long to visit Drastic Measures, but I was absolutely blown away by the experience. Dropped in on a cool Friday evening and only had a short line waiting inside by the front door. Love the usage of the chandelier to help communicate capacity. Chatted quite a bit with our server once seated and shared that I'm a whiskey/bourbon fan. He strongly recommended the Campfire or the Maricopa...so I ended up ordering both. Word to the wise - both drinks pack a punch in totally different ways. The Campfire truly tasted like a camp fire in your mouth, with a subtle smoky aftertaste. The Maricopa had hints of corn and green chile with a touch of sweetness. The service provided throughout the evening was phenomenal and I cannot wait to come back!“
“My wife and I took a break from espresso shops and tried this hotel restaurant for coffee. It turned out surprisingly better than expected. The service was excellent, and the cappuccino was better than expected. It was good that I tried this restaurant.“
“Lived in KC for 20+ years - finally decided to give this place a try. The western country decor with an original jukebox add a retro element to the dining experience. Do yourself a favor: order the City Fried Chicken! It was incredible. Also ordered a cup of chili and the Chicken Pot Pie, which is a seasonal item during the cooler months ? Lastly, they serve Dr Pepper & Pepsi products :)“
“This was my first visit. I do my laundry next door to the restaurant and the wonderful aroma made me want to try the food. I ordered carry out. When I picked up my food I was impressed with the inside. It looked very clean and colorful. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. I will go back again.“
“Been here a few times with friends, and I enjoyed each experience. The ambiance is hard to beat - beautiful homage to butterflies that make up the central bar that is surrounded by the seating. Kind and attentive service too. I think their cocktails are unique and for the most part good, but I do think some of the flavors are a risk and aren't for everybody. Still, I would come again and bring people from out of town.“
“as someone who only came here for brunch, the food was really good! the service is pretty slow, but it appears there's very little servers working so i can't blame them. the environment is fun, everyone mostly minded their own business. i got the veggie omelette, definitely reccommend! the goat cheese in it was delicious!“
“This is my first visit and I absolutely love it..... FAST SERVICE, Friendly people, good food and of course GOOD MUSIC!!!! Had the pleasure of meeting one of the two owners Crystal, who also was our server/ cook/ waitress!!!! It's my new favorite "HOLE IN THE WALL","NEIGHBORHOOD" BAR & GRILL!!!! JOIN US I WILL BE SHARING PHOTOS OF THE FOOD WE ORDERED!!!!! TBC!!!!“
“We visited on a Saturday in hopes something was going on. A crowd, some tasting but we were the only people there. We stuck around for a cocktail and we always buy a few bottles of something new to us. A lot of cool options if you want to step up your cocktails!Parking: Gotta drive around to find a free spot.“
