“We had only been to Rockhille Grilel once before and didn't have a great experience. Buuuut, we decided to give it another try during their Happy Hour. I got their Bruschetta and it was the BEST I've ever eaten and so delightfully plated. Simple, yet classic. Our server, Trevor was EXCELLENT. The Rockhill Grille will DEFINITELY be on our, "regular" list“
“Super fun whiskey tour experience! Ben was an amazing tour guide and we enjoyed learning about their business and whiskey adventure. The Old Fashion cocktail was the best I have ever had and the coffee drink was great too! I can’t wait to see where this company goes in the next 5 years. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town!“
“My husband and I have been to Swordfish Tom’s at least half a dozen times in the past couple of years and it’s always been a top-notch experience. Sure, sometimes you have to wait outside for availability, but it’s worth the wait and I personally think it adds to the “speak-easy” vibes. Drinks are phenomenal and they always seem to have a wide variety of cocktail options. Even if you don’t see something on the list that sparks your interest, the bartenders has always been so friendly and willing to spin up pretty much anything your heart desires! We love it for a date night!“
“My boyfriend and I have been taking our dogs there for quite a while now. Not only our dogs love it so much. We love the employees there. They all treat our dogs like their own and ALWAYS greet them when we get there. I will forever recommend this place for anyone.“
“Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. Also, check out the hotel bar if you have some time before or after.Update: We’ve been back several times now. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is amazing! Highly recommend!“
“What a great place!!! The atmosphere was incredible with excellent live jazz! The espresso martinis are a must as well as the old fashions. The service was so great, especially consodering how busy it was. I definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area!“
“Been here twice. Once for their tour & again for a Green Dirt Farm Cheese & Cocktail tasting. Staff is courteous, fun & adaptable as situations warrant. Beautiful historic restoration that is worth the trip alone. Cocktails are varied, marvelous, and something for all tastes. Only knock is directions to get there should avoid the train tracks that can block streets for hours. Come in the back way off Independence Street—don’t use the Front Street route.“
“Tried this place for the first time on a Friday at 7:30 and we were seated immediately with no reservation. The space was small, but very cool and good vibes. Drinks were good and the servers/bartenders know what they are talking about. I'll have to try food next time I'm there“
“Excellent experience overall !Divine ambiance — dim lighting, cool music (but you can still hear your convos) and comfy/trendy seating options. They serve unique & strong cocktails. Our food was also great.Kaleb was the BEST server! He was incredibly personable, professional and patient with my friend & I. He was VERY knowledgable of the menu and how the drinks are prepared. He made us feel welcomed, heard & relaxed.Definitely ask for Kaleb — he was a pleasure!“
“This is a super cool book bar. My book club meets here once a month (make sure to make a reservation for large groups as seating is limited). They have a large cocktail and cocktail menu (both are delicious)! This is primarily a drinks bar, food is limited to a few prepackaged snacks. You can also buy some of your fav books here. For parking, I would recommend the garage next door. It has reasonable prices and always has lots of spaces and it adjacent to Afterword.“
“First time here but it instantly became a favorite. Mike and Julian were great on piano and drums, I talked to the owner about how they have open mic and karaoke nights planned, but then on top of that the bartenders all don rockstar mics and sing beautifully while still tending bar? The vibe from the staff is incredible.“
“What a beautiful space for drinks and dinner! There's a fun holiday cocktail menu and all our small plates (Harissa Shrimp, Bolognese Pasta, and Seared Tuna) were wonderful. Every dish that was carried out to other tables looked amazing. The service was great too, and hope we can go back someday soon!“
“I stopped to take pictures of the Chiefs paintings (very cool). This place is next to it. I went in and ordered a slab of ribs. Ribs were excellent !! Tim and the customers were very friendly. Nice hangout, nice food, nice people. I'll be back.“
“The food was great and the waitress was wonderful with the kids. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. It was a neat experience, like being back in Germany.Parking: Parking was difficult to findKid-friendliness: They brought the kids their own plastic utensils, they had their own menu's as well.“
“My husband and I, along with four friends, enjoyed an evening at The Puttery on Saturday and weren't disappointed. It is well executed, and we were greeted immediately by our Concierge, David, who was superb at making sure we had everything we needed. He checked on us frequently. The ambience is very cool with spectacular lighting, artwork and dark wood. You can tell that a lot of thought was put into it, and expense seemed to be no problem. We ordered chips and dips and a charcuterie board, which were filling and delicious. The charcuterie board, in particular, was five star and plentiful for six people. Drinks were very good too. Hats off to the kitchen and the bartender. They definitely know what they're doing. We had a blast playing miniature golf...some courses are more interesting than others, but hearing the crowd hooting and hollering by a missed putt or a hole-in-one added to the excitement of the evening. We'd definitely go back. It's such a great addition to Kansas City.“
“Overall a great place; this has become mine and my wife's local spot.Twice monthly pool tournaments; an assortment of areas to play checks, chess, or dice; local beers; and fantastic cocktails. One of the best old fashioned I've had in a while (if you're a fan of Rye, if not, make sure to mention it).Have spent several long nights here shooting pool and enjoying good company.Parking: Street parking directly next to the bar, but its a gamble if there will be any available. You may have to drive further down and take a short walk.“
“Cliff's has been come a regular spot for my wife and I. Whether we get take out or dine in, the food is always fantastic. It's also great when there is live music. This is our favorite spot for sure! I recommend the BBQ Burger; there are great gluten free options as well. 10/10“
“Really fun and laid back spot. Apparently the owner is my second cousin once removed (I think) so my dad was excited to go here when visiting from AR. It was a beautiful day and I love that on such days they’re open to the outdoors. That plus some great early 2000s pop punk classics really made for a great atmosphere. I asked for their most popular drink which was their blueberry specialty cocktail. It was delicious!“
“This is a good place. Felt a bit like home with the Aussie pictures on the wall. Good breakfast. They make a nice flat white. The machines are geared so they can do "short shots" (ristretto) so the coffee actually tastes good. (A lot of places are just geared for "long shots" (espresso) so coffees tend to just be brown milk bevs). Had me some Vegemite toast. Ok, all they needed to do was spread some on bread, but at least the bread was great, and whoever was spreading knew how to do it- that's easy to get wrong for a non Aussie. I also had a brekkie sandwich with egg, spinach, avo, and it was done the Australian way. As soon as I bit into it, I had perfect yolk all over my hands. That's how it's done. Breakfast needs to be a messy business! Didn't try the pies but they looked and smelled great. It's honestly not really much of an Aussie hang if that's what you are after. I'm not really sure how many Australians are in this neck of the woods - I drove in from North Carolina. I understand the owners are Aussies but they are not always there. But the food and coffee is good. It's worth a stop-in.“
“The food is a tad pricey for my personal budget but it is always very good and fresh. Their servers are very nice (Cy in particular) I come here with friends to play pool often, and it's never too busy when we go. This place is always clean and pretty cozy!I recommend their bread pudding.Parking: They have an okay sized parking lot, I usually don't have issues with it being full.“
“Food was great, yummy veggie options, and the service was excellent. Every single person was smiling and helpful- you just don’t find that environment everywhere these days. Thanks for a great dinner (and thanks Diana and the rest of the staff for being awesome!)“
“Great bar, i love the live music and the atmosphere within the bar. The food was delicious i recommend the chicken sandwich with season fries! Will definitely be coming back! Oh and the service was amazing! Thank you for a good first time experience!“
“The first bite of the mushroom doughnuts with taleggio sauce sealed my positive review of @bar.medici in pen. This chewy not-quite-doughnut-texture bread bite is dusted with umami and dunked in the highest end of "cheese dips." 11/10. Worth going here for the cocktails and this. The salad escarole was great too though: one of those dishes that tastes like each individual ingredient at its peak, with plenty of salt and deep fried bacon bits. The spaghetti a la chittara was good: delicate, perfectly cooked noodles, the right hint of crab, and the Aleppo pepper dust on top is brilliant. I would have taken a bit more creaminess/sauce (I am a sauce girl, after all). The gelato was so much better (and bigger) than I expected. It's indescribably creamy as only the best European gelatos are and the flavor is at 11. The pistachio gelato isn't so much pistachio-flavored cream as it is a ball of creamy, cold, intense pistachio flavor. So good, but the toasted marshmallow was even better: a few crumbles of graham cracker to give crunch to the perfectly smooth gelato. 10/10 The cocktails were wonderful. On par with the other members of this restaurant/bar group with creative flavor pairings and beautiful presentation. I think my favorite was the Tribune (rye, gin, fig, thyme, cider), which the server said was oddly like a Jack and Coke (and she was right). We also had the focaccia, which was just ok (I would have rather had 3 more doughnuts!), the beef tartare (which I couldn't taste any of the truffle or egg yolk in, so it wasn't really as rich as I hoped), the sword fish (perfectly cooked but the sauce is really the star -- you could just eat the greens and sauce and it would hold all of its appeal), and a lovely little roulette of beef in a spicy tomato based sauce. Service was attentive (beware, they'll take your plate before you finish swiping up the yummy sauce!), and we didn't feel rushed at all. We also got plenty to eat and didn't spend quite as much as I expected (I expected the $$$$, haha).“
“Loved The Mercury Room. I was afraid we would feel a little out of place but the staff was so inviting and helpful. I appreciate all the thought and care that goes into crafting all the drinks. We loved sitting at the bar and watching the bartender work his magic. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting, it’s not just the view it’s the whole ambience and experience. The staff take the experience over the top.“
“Was really good! Some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Came in during Sunday happy hour after 4 and was told all cocktails are $2 off, however got charged full price for one of hours. Bartender was too busy to ask about it after we got the itemized receipt. Overall, delicious. Just wish we would have gotten the full special.“
“Bobby Bakers is a classic neighborhood bar. Essentially, it's one long bar with a couple four tops at the end towards the restrooms and then a series of very small tight for tops on the backside of the bar seating. This bar is been open for a long time and I could see why you might not notice it or pass it without consideration. However, this is the fifth time I've been in over the last several years and I'm always bringing somebody new to show this place off. Although I suggest it's like a classic neighborhood bar, it doesn't have the neighborhood feel. Meaning when you walk in and everybody doesn't stop and look at you. It's an inclusive and welcoming environment that I would suggest you could add to your night out as a stop along the way or a fun place to meet some friends to laugh and have a beer. The walls are adorned with photos of those who came before you and it has had a "recent" refresh. The bartenders are engaging, friendly, and efficient. If I lived in Waldo, I would probably visit this location weekly.“
“You come here after you have had dinner to get some GREAT choices for all kinds of draft. They pour the new Boulevard strawberry wheat that was smooth and so good. Lots of gathering space and cool industrial atmosphere. You can’t get food here, but any type of craft beer is here. Sea Dog on draft is here as well—awesome! This is where you want to meet up with all your friends to laugh and tell stories as you enjoy a drink or two or three.“
“The best pancakes I ever had …just one word AMAZING… we went to this place for breakfast and have ordered steel cut oats and pancakes. With oats they have provided toast and butter. The pancakes are very large and the butter that they gave with it is really good in taste.I just had one word for this restaurant..AMAZING… highly recommended“
“RUN, do not walk, to this establishment. Let me tell you something... If you come to KC and don't eat here, you are doing yourself an INJUSTICE!!! I thought the Smash Burger was the best thing I had ever put in my mouth and then I tried the S'mores and TRANSCENDED from my body. Moody country rustic vibe beautifully and successfully done. The service was personable and not overdone and every cocktail tasted like it was hand rafted specifically for me. I will fly back here for this restaurant alone. This place looks like something you would see on Instagram and be like, "I'm visiting that city just to go there."Parking: Several spots immediately next to and around the building.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to get into the restaurant.“
“This place is never a miss.Advice: make sure to join the waitlist via Yelp.Their bacon is amazing.Their coffee has a deep flavor.Their mimosas are good.Their Hashbrowns are to die for.And most importantly, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE EGGS BENEDICT.Their service is always top tier so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a great brunch place to try!“
“Lived in KC for 20+ years - finally decided to give this place a try. The western country decor with an original jukebox add a retro element to the dining experience. Do yourself a favor: order the City Fried Chicken! It was incredible. Also ordered a cup of chili and the Chicken Pot Pie, which is a seasonal item during the cooler months ? Lastly, they serve Dr Pepper & Pepsi products :)“
“Fantastic food and service. Our server, Austin, made sure we had everything we needed and offered us coffee/water to take with us. I ordered the French toast - the berries are fresh, the brioche was absolutely delicious and had tons of flavor. My husband got the everything bagel sandwich and breakfast potatoes. He loved the sandwich, and would have loved the potatoes if I hadn’t tried to eat them all. There is also a gentleman, Gia/Geo(?), bussing tables, rolling silverware, etc. he is the SWEETEST! So happy, cheerful, and purely just made both of us smile- we would literally go back for him.“
“A special place with special food. We got the chud laab (pictured) from the lanna platters and it was incredible! Definitely going to come back on a special occasion and get the biggest one. Alongside this, we also got the coconut yellow curry to try as our main and it was SO delicious! We also got the miang khum appetizer and it was so fun making little leaf wraps with all the dishes of dried shrimp, ginger, nuts, lime, etc. Everything was delicious, and beautiful, a true culinary delight! Two of us split all of this and we both brought boxes home.“
“Husband and I stopped in and got The La Hog Pizza. it was great as well as Dealer's Choice bucket of domestic beers. Great lunch ! We always enjoy it here and indoor or outdoor seating depending on the mood. Thank you to all staff who have checked on us from the time we entered until we closed out our check. We appreciate you all !“
“Been here a few times with friends, and I enjoyed each experience. The ambiance is hard to beat - beautiful homage to butterflies that make up the central bar that is surrounded by the seating. Kind and attentive service too. I think their cocktails are unique and for the most part good, but I do think some of the flavors are a risk and aren't for everybody. Still, I would come again and bring people from out of town.“
“as someone who only came here for brunch, the food was really good! the service is pretty slow, but it appears there's very little servers working so i can't blame them. the environment is fun, everyone mostly minded their own business. i got the veggie omelette, definitely reccommend! the goat cheese in it was delicious!“
“Great space for playing pool, drinks, & great waitresses. Had a great after birthday turn up thanks to Brenda & April!!! This is definitely the dive bar type vibe (If you’re into that) you want to go have a good time and drink at.“
“This is a nice place. Reminds me of an African American version of Cheers. Casual atmosphere and everyone is friendly. More of an mature crowd. The drinks are the best I've had any where because you never have to question if they added any liquor. I went on Taco Tuesday and got 4 tacos and ended up getting a couple more because they were outstanding. If you want a casual, mature atmosphere, this is the place to go.“
“Amazing place loved it me and my wife got to experience the igloo and the inside dining and wow every dish was fantastic great presentation and so delicious great selection of beverages and our server I believe was Kelsey helped us out and made sure our night was amazing highly recommend you visit at least once if you are near the views alone is a must“
“It’s hip, it’s still fairly new, it’s got a cool vibe going with the interior design and atmosphere.Chic hangout spot if you plan your visit and get reservations. And man, they are serious about the reservations and making you wait downstairs before you can be escorted up at the time or after the time of your reservation! Do not stray!Love the lounge seating areas and great views of the plaza.Drinks are pricey and the food is very limited here imo. I have not been inspired by anything I’ve ordered yet and I’ve tried at least 6-10 items. Probably the best for what is was, sushi. It’s cool to take visitors here for a pre-dinner out stop but I do not see this as an everyday or frequent hangout spot.People watching here though is a treat.“
“The pavlova is heavenly. They have so many beautiful and delicious treats. The frosted sugar cookie was also tasty. My child loved the sugar cookie bar. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a trick when they're busy.“
“normally great food and service from younger servers. I boast on this place nationwide. I took a seat at the bar and sat there patiently for about 10 or so minutes. they appear to be busy. I understand. I known what I wanted to order and expressed it. then owner then made space for two older white people who came nearly 10 minutes or so after me (check cameras), great people but it was done. she took their order for food and drinks faster and never even returned back to me for my food request. I eat here when in town regularly because it's great flavor and helps me to eat healthy alternatives. I'm not sure if it was great coincidence. camera shows I sat down at 650pm or so, I journal daily when I go to restaurants as I'm working on my next comedy project. I was under the impression I was seen as lesser value. it's 737pm and they just received their appetizers. check your cameras. I walked sad, disappointed and degraded. I won't be back to this location but I wish you all continued success. update came back on April 12th, 2024 . another horrible experience. I ordered oxtail. I asked them could I just add extra greens in the dish (which comes with greens) in exchange for me not wanting mushroom rice. I also ordered the Mac and cheese. I was told they couldn't simply add more greens to my order. the rice didn't come with the dish but I was charged for the Mac and cheese and no extra greens added to the dish.“
“Incredible place to dine or drink at. Ambience is next-level. They have different themes at different points throughout the year, it's worth going to each one. The food is incredible, the drinks are where the character of the place shines as they are catered to the theme. My wife and I try to make it as often as we can and have always had amazing service and an awesome experience every time. I hesitate to write such a good recommendation because reservations are sometimes hard to get but we really love the Conductor Club and it's a great excuse to visit Union Station and see a unique part of it as well.“
“Really fun, staff was very nice and helpful towards my kids. Also made a mistake on my purchase on their website and they refunded me the difference without me even asking. Bar service was fast and professional.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, we were there at happy hour and our kids were the only young folks there but the staff gave them plenty of attention, they had kiddie cocktails on the menu, etc“
“Cool place. We are in town from STL and tried to make a reservation at 5:15 on a Friday. The website said no tables available until after 7:15. Tried to call and they would not accept phone calls. We were 17 minutes away by foot and decided to walk anyway. Arrived at 5:45 to a 1/4 full restaurant and grabbed a seat at the bar. We were greeted fairly soon at the bar. Ordered great food and a beer. When it came time to order another drink it was difficult to get service. Ended up having 2 beers each but would have easily had 3 or 4 with attentive service. What was very odd was they came by and asked it we were done with our plates and if they could take them when we had them stacked and pushed forward for 20 minutes. Then our original bartender came and placed two clean martini glasses in the middle of all the dirty dishes to make martinis. This place is good and has a ton of potential. I wonder how much revenue potential they are losing per evening with the service. I am uncertain if they were under staffed but had 3 bar tenders.“
“Great place to grab some tacos. Was quick and taste was amazing. The Off the Cob street corn was great. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in the down town area.Kid-friendliness: We have a son that is fairly picky and he loved it.“
“My girlfriend & I came here to try Cosmic Burger, but they were still closed. We decided to wait and have a few drinks until Comic Burger opened. The best decision I made that week. Their bartender Deon killed it. He made me one delicious cocktail called the melon-ball which was tasted and my girlfriend loved her Mai Thai . The black Manhattan wasn’t our favorite but everything else was perfect. Thanks Deon for the great service! Also the vibe and set up is cozy & cool especially if you like pandas“
“Tonight, March 7th, my husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary with 11 friends and family at Bistro 303. Mike and the staff made our group more than welcome. They were fantastic. We couldn't have asked for more from them. They made our 30th even more special than I could have hoped for. All I can say is thank you Mike.“
“The atmosphere was great and music was on point. The food wasn’t as great as the prices we paid. Now the drinks was better more than the food. My friends and I will be back cause the vibes was so much different than other places we’ve been“
“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“
