“We were staying at the Wyndham by the airport and ordered for delivery. They were fast and very pleasant in person and on the phone. We ordered General Tso's Chicken and a Pu Pu Platter for Two. They were both very reasonably priced and delicious. I also ordered Lo Mein and asked for mushrooms and onions in it. It was perfect! The whole order was correct and only about $30. I will definitely eat here again if I am in the area.“

Favorites are the spicy fish, twice cooked pork, glass noodles w pork, and sweet and sour pork (mostly just sweet). Okay were house noodles, noodles w fermented cabbage, braised knuckles. It was very legit! We ordered the beef tripe cold dish, it’s chewy and spicy, worth ordering if you can handle spice. We ordered the chicken dumplings and the crab & pork dumplings. The crab and pork were the better of the two but both lacked a bit of flavor. You definitely couldn’t tell that crab was in there. The chicken was fried nice and crispy but don’t be fooled by the menu saying “hot wings” because nothing about these are hot. They barely even have any seasoning and they give you a side of sweet ketchup. Do make sure you grab a sparkling water tho because it’s probably some of the best I’ve had.“

The beef bulgogi - seriously, it's a portion that feels like a warm hug for your taste buds. And then there's the tteokbokki - it's got this spicy kick that's like a flavor rollercoaster. Trust me, it's spicy but oh-so-worth it.What I love most? It's takeout heaven. I get to bring all that goodness home without lifting a finger in the kitchen. “I took my daughter who's 2 on her first bus ride. It must've been God's Plan. Our scheduled day had changed just as our little adventure had begun. At first, we were just going to go home. Instead, we detoured inside to the KING CHOP SUEY on West Florissant. We had such a wonderful and memorable time! The lady took our order and was so very patient. She made our day so much better. (I wish I had learned her name.) My daughter and I sat in and ate. Well, I sat, the baby sat every once in a while. (terrible 2's ?) No one complained, made faces, or gave any attitude. The food was SO GOOD, even the Crab Rangoon! It was hot, fresh and made just as asked. She called out my order as a number but I didn't have one. (it's on the receipt btw). I told her she hadn't given me a number. She didn't argue that she did or give me any flack. She just asked what I ordered. I found it later in my pocket later with my change. (Sorry Ma'am ?) I also asked for something so my daughter could eat on her own. She gave me a cute little baby sized box. It was perfect. The place was very clean, AND I felt safe, which is really something to say in St. Louis City. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! So we ate the leftovers. That was probably the clearest thing I've heard this girl say besides No, Mama, and Juice. Thank You Guys So Much!!! If ever I get another chance, I'll be back. I definitely recommend this location to others. A much better than their competitors. (Place Unspoken)Kid-friendliness: My daughter and I sat in and ate. Jajangmeong Korean Noodle Dish with Pork and Seafood

“On a busy Tuesday afternoon, I was craving some fast and authentic Korean-Chinese food. I haven't been able to find a place that fulfilled my cravings until now! I ordered one Jjamppong Seafood ($19) and one Sweet and Sour Pork ($16) to-go. Along with my dishes, fresh rice and a side of kimchi were packed. Even after the delivery time, the food was piping hot, fragrant, and fresh. The Jjamppong Seafood had fresh noodles that complimented well with its sweet, slightly spicy, and garlicky broth. For a flavorful seafood noodle soup, I found around three shrimps, a good amount of tender octopus, a couple chewy mussels (slightly over cooked possibly due to the very hot broth), and a variety of vegetables-zucchini, onions, and carrots. For my Sweet and Sour Pork, I was surprised at the small amount of fried, battered pork with it being $16. However, the pork dipped in the delightfully tangy and sweet sauce packed a lot of punch. If you're not a fan of tangy, almost-vinegary flavors, I would not recommend it to you. To explain my 4/5 stars rating, the kimchi was very salty and bland. I wasn't sure if this was a new batch of kimchi that had not been fermenting long enough or if they made it with a lot of salt to begin with. I had hoped to refresh my palate with a bite of kimchi but could not bring myself to overcome its overwhelmingly saltiness. Lastly, menu items are on the pricier side. Personally, I thought the Jjamppong Seafood was worth it, considering its well-sized portion. Overall, both my dishes did not disappoint! If you are new to trying Korean-Chinese food or even trying to find somewhere good, I would highly recommend this restaurant! I'll definitely be back in-person to explore more of the menu. P.S. Do you prefer soaking the pork/beef in the sweet and sour sauce or just dipping?! I prefer the latter to maintain the meat's crunch!“

“One of the best Chinese food spots in St. Louis - top tier fried rice, crab Rangoon and service. My family has been coming here since when we originally moved in the area back in summer 2007. The staff remembers us and is always polite and kind. I understand that everyone has different experiences, but as for my family... they've been nothing short of phenomenal! Love this place“

“Great food, bad location. I would recommend this restaurant. One of the best Chinese food takeout in the city and county. The restaurant was recommended to me, now I'm recommending it to everyone...delicious! I've just learned they have another location as well, if you don't like to travel to the Natural Bridge location; but the food is great. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.“

“Our normal Chinese place was closed today so we tried Yen Ching. The taste of the sweet n sour chicken and cashew chicken sauces was very good but it was very thick. The chicken was crispy. The crab rangoon was very good! The fried rice was not fried at all, it was just white rice with some crisp vegetables. The egg drop soup was littlerally a bowl of eggs...there was no soup involved. The customer servuce was great. They were quick, food was hot and the restaurant was very clean. My review is based on my own preferences and just thought others would benefit from it. It was fairly expensive @ $43 for 2 meals and an appetizer“

“i grew up in that neighborhood and was practically raised on John's cuisine. it was typical for the owner/cashier to act rudely, though promptly, from behind the plexiglass. nobody questioned that expedient because the neighborhood was extremely rough. i'm talking ppl getting shot inside the little waiting/dining area. it seemed at the time that if John had been polite, ppl would hang out inside or in front to control the traffic in what was and still is a hotspot for gang clashes and drug dealing and robberies. every street over there, floy, mimika, era, etc, hosted rival gangs. and though most on one side of w. florissant purported to be Six-0 Crips (blue and yellow), the other side where John's restaurant was had every other type of gang and gang color, including those insufferable ones wearing blue and orange. a lot of ppl have been taken out right there on the premises over the years. as far as the food: it's standard STL chop suey, which stands out in the USA for some reason as tastier than chop sueys in other towns - and i've sampled them in 20 cities, with Philly coming in a close second and Chicago registering as third in that top tier. Los Angeles and NYC might as well shut down their operations. something is missing or otherwise went wrong.“

“This is the best Chinese I've had in St. Louis. I love the noodles in s large container so that you have the broth. If you don't request it they give it to you in a box and it loses a lot of its flavor. The chicken wings, egg foo yung is great just get the gravy on the side, they also have it in a combo with fried rice, and crab Rangoon or egg roll . The crab Rangoons are delicious. And the price is cheap. Call ahead because they are always busy.“

“If you want an authentic Chinese food fair, this is the place! This restaurant offers authentic Chinese Chao Zhou cuisine which is the only one in St. Louis. The dishes are prepared with authentic spices and flavors. Don’t be confused if you can’t find the price for the dishes, just ask the owner and they will tell you. It is a small operation and you can take free tea and water from the “help yourself“ area. It can be easily missed from the street since no special advertisement is put out. After trying it once I’ll definitely come back for more delicious dishes!“
