We started with edamame, shrimp dumplings and spring rolls. I had the shrimp rice plate and shrimp skewers. I was nervous coming in because as a celiac, trying new restaurants is really scary when you know you might get sick.if you ask, they're super accommodating! my waitress was super nice and super patient and happily found an old copy of an allergen menu for me. as you'd expect, there aren't a whole lot of options available when it comes to rolls; there's spicy tuna, the california roll, etc. HOWEVER, there's tons of options when it comes to sashimi and nigiri! the fish is fresh and melts in your mouth and, above all, the staff is friendly, diverse, and all have really cool tattoos lol. thanks for the good food! :)Dietary restrictions: They happily make accommodations for gluten allergies!“
“Edit..we have been back since my review.The rude guy at the door is gone. Everyone is friendly and the food is beyond amazing!!Make sure if you want to try this place out, you make reservations. My friend and I decided last minute to try the restaurant out because I had read about it on line. When we arrived, we were informed that there would be a wait. I asked about seating at the bar because most places it is open seating. Let me tell you the host was so condescending that it was uncomfortable. There is no waiting area and he acted alarmed that I was going to approach the bar to get a glass of wine. He then informed us it was a 2 hour wait. After driving around forever trying to find a place to park and having much anticipation of trying Sado we just left. I rarely leave a bad review anywhere but I realize this place is new and hope they work on their customer service. I am sure the food will be amazing“

All the flavors and the ingredients taste very fresh and premium considering the cheap price. The ambiance was great - very modern and inviting; the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I asked what their suggestion would be and they said you can't go wrong with the classic Nudo or the Bahn Mi so we ordered both, but sadly it was very underwhelming. The flavor wasn't rich or flavorful like we expected, and the noodles tasted like instant ramen, kinda rubbery and very bland. Maybe it was just an off day for them but it was highly disappointing, especially after reading all the amazing reviews!Their Mai Lee restaurant, however, is incredible.“
“Had dinner this evening at Sen Thai. Sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly but didn't really ask me typical usually questions when ordering Thai food. I had the Tom yum soup, a crispy salmon hand roll ( as they have sushi as well) and crying tiger beef. I love my Thai food very spicy. With that I wasn't ever asked my spice level. My soup was good. The crying tiger salad was really good just wish it was spicier. I asked for Thai chilies in fish sauce to help bring more heat to it. Over all good food. Not super authentic but good. Would come back for sure.“

In total, there is not only more than standard Japanese fare, but it is also delicious, high quality, and beautifully presented. Many different sakes, mixed drinks, and Japanese beers along with international Gin, bourbon, tequila, rum options. They even have Japanese soda pop. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely decor with exquisite hand painted scenes. I had been there once before and couldn’t wait to go back for seconds to show my adult son who also, this day enjoyed his food immensely.“

Our waitress was a literal angel on this earth. The food was INCREDIBLE!!! Sushi is some of the best I’ve ever had — such freshness and so high quality. I’m so sad I don’t live in the area because I’d go here so often they’d be trying to get rid of me. Truly exceptional.“
“In my opinion, Sushi AI makes some of the best Japanese food in STL. And while I enjoyed eating there in-person, I've mostly ordered online, but I've been very impressed with that alone. They get your order ready super fast, but don't get it twisted, they still don't sacrifice quality! They also have the best packaging compared to other Japanese places. Most places usually put it in a styrofoam takeout box, but Sushi AI uses a plastic container that actually seals, meaning the sauce doesn't splash all over the place!!! I've noticed that there's a lot of Japanese places in STL that are inconsistent with the quality of their food, particularly their chicken teriyaki. Sushi AI ALWAYS has amazing chicken teriyaki, and the presentation in-person is beautiful. Everybody I've introduced to this restaurant LOVES it. The service is amazing, they seat you very fast and they're just generally very kind and upbeat. The waitress was very friendly and ended up convincing my dad to try a sake bomb since he'd never heard of one. She showed us how to do it and the entire table ended up having a blast!“

The main reason the service is four stars rather than five is because the wrong food was delivered to our table, and the person who dropped it off did not know what it was so we couldn’t verify whether it was ours or not until a server walked past several minutes later.“
“I have been here 2x, once for dine in and once for carry out and have had great experiences both times. The menu in the cwe is different from the chesterfield menu, and everything I have tried so far has been good. The 1st time, I tried the shrimp udon. It was delicious and the shrimp were huge. The 2nd time I do the spicy chicken wings, and even though the wings were small, they were very flavorful. Fries were just okay, but everything else was delicious! Service has been quick both times and they did a great job of packaging everything up when I did take out. Staff seem friendly . It's a decent space, and they have a large tv on. Cute decor overall. Per usual parking in the cwe is not my favorite, but I will def come back and try more!“

“We love supporting small local business. I realized I haven't written about Ichiban- my favorite sushi restaurant in St. Louis. We have been customers here for about 5 years or so. We came here at least once a week. We usually ordered to go during the weekdays and dined in on the weekends.The owners treat and talk to us like family. Our go to orders are hamachi sashimi, spicy crazy roll, hamachi Kama (yellowtail collar), spider rolls and eel avocado rolls. Last night, I was in a mood for grilled fish so I ordered saba shioyaki combo. It came with ginger house salad, and miso soup. I absolutely loved the ginger dressing here - the owner made it herself. The restaurant is quite spacious, and clean. Highly recommend.“

Now that we have those conditions it's more about value for me. The sushi AI all you can eat special is the absolute best value you will get for sushi anywhere I've found. “First time diner at Wasabi. First off, I can't believe I am leaving a 5 star rating based on the circumstances tonight. The food was excellent...some of the best sushi I have had in a while. But the place was packed...a complete madhouse...it was $7 roll night plus the night before Valentine's Day. Placed our order quickly and were excited for our rolls. The wait on our sushi order was over an hour which under normal circumstance would have me ballistic.What made this a 5 star experience was our amazing server, Michelle. She was incredibly good at her job...managed our expectations from the very beginning regarding the wait time for sushi and why things were going to take longer than normal. She also repeatedly mentioned that she hoped the long wait would not impact our decision to come back in the future...and is exactly what happened because of her care and attention to the situation.I dine out every day and was so impressed at how she managed our table. It is truly a rarity in this day and age to have someone so poised, professional and friendly able to manage our expectations the way she did given difficult circumstances. “Every time I come the food is great. The price point is amazing for the food you get. Sushi rolls are always excellent and I order the same thing everytime but I always get a different hot food option whether it’s egg rolls, crab Rangoon, etc. and it’s always good! Hate the parking on Delmar and wish they had more locations but it’s worth it.“
