“Was there on a packed Friday night and yet the service was quick and top flight. The food was superb.The only drawback was the volumn of the place. It was about the noisiest pub I've ever been in. It won't keep me from going back, but I will be more mindful of the time.“

As a part-time vegetarian, I went with the Mushroom Mississippi Nights, and it was ?. Highly recommend it to any veggie fan out there!The beer selection was equally impressive. They have tons of craft beers on tap, along with bottles and cans.Honestly, if I lived in St. Louis, I'd be here all the time trying a different sandwich every month. “Great little neighborhood bar I’ve been frequenting for years. $3 apple pie shots are a beloved staple here. They have pizzas and hotdogs(?) but you can also order food from the IMO’s right across the street, too! One pool table which is usually busy. Super cute patio & free popcorn. Newest best thing?! Twisted Tea on draft babyyy, served w ice and a lemon wedge, I love it.“

“I stopped in for a visit to see the amazing collection of art and other decorations. I was not disappointed. Everything from the walls to floors to ceiling plus everything else in the cafe was all visually interesting. There were definitely things I liked and some not so much.It's obviously a local hang out where everyone knows each other.While called a cafe, it's a bar. There's no food except some pretzels available. They do serve canned soda for anyone not drinking.I went in the afternoon when they opened. They are also known for their nightly entertainment. On Mondays it's open mic night but the rest of the week brings in a variety of musical groups.“

“Just finished dinner and it was great. Our waitress was wonderful as was the bus boy. I had the bacon lettuce & tomato sandwich with fries and a cup of their wonderful potato soup. Wish I had gotten the bowl it was so good. I'll know better next time to get the bowl. Plus we shared an order of potato skins which were also very good. Highly recommed their food and service.“

“We’re regulars, but last night celebrated our wedding after party at Hummel’s. Dawn made sure we had some of our favorite beer and that she’d stocked up on what everyone would want. She started campfires, helped make our sparkler entrance happen, and even surprised us with fireworks. This is the kind of bar you trust with this special of a day.“

“Warning: heavy smoking in here. I'm not a big fan of that these days and I had no idea before I came that they'd allow that in here. Anyway, for a dive bar it's a decent spot, I've seen other reviews about the owner being rude but he was fine to me and the party I was with. This place is good for darts too, I think they have leagues here. Drinks are cheap and they prefer cash but they do take cars and I believe they add an additional charge on at the end (but you don't get a breakdown of prices so there's no way to really know). I won't return often only bc of the smoking but if that didn't bother me (and it was a bit closer), I'd return. If you're a smoker and a fan of dive bars then this should be a good place for you.“

“I absolutely loved this place food was good and drinks were amazing it was my first time at a bar and in St. Louis and barb and Josh was outgoing and funny and kept the atmosphere alive they were kind enough to take a pic with me, I definitely will come back“

You can hear yourself perfectly and the sound is extremely well balanced.Ashby Pub still stands as my favorite local dive. Cathy makes this the most welcoming and friendly place you'll ever find. A diamond in the rough to be sure.“
