“We came here for lunch and it was our Littles first time at a Waffle House. The Littles approve ! The staff was welcoming and we were seated quickly. All the food was delicious, the manager even came out to ask us how we were. It is rare to have such excellent service and actual management present.“

“Had an early dentist, party of four. Our hostess seated us, and was very friendly and accommodating. Food was nicely prepared. We enjoyed the atmosphere near the marina.The only drawback for me was that the fries were seasoned and I can't eat foods with black pepper because it burns my tongue. Most other people would enjoy them, and the fries were crispy as I like them.“

“We came to celebrate our best friend getting into law school and starting her journey to becoming a lawyer. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. “Good food, friendly service, great value in a cozy setting. Thought I'd give Sunrise Cafe a chance about a month ago and just recently went again. Both visits were positive all the way around. I had the Philly Omelet on my first visit - claim is in the name - very tasty! On my second visit I had the Corn beef hash, which was OK, but less impressive than the Philly Omelet in my opinion. I prefer a hardier homemade version vs hash that looks similar to Hormel from a can. My wife had the Patty Melt and said it as good as any she'd ever had! Overall - nice spot, good value, tasty food with friendly service.“
“My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on the way back to Mobile,Al. The coffee was fresh and great tasting. Our breakfast was wonderful. The sausage biscuit I had was really tasty. Loved the biscuit especially. My husband had a hash brown bowl and he really enjoyed the taste.“
“First time dining at the Hook, top quality & fresh catch of the day! We had the triple tail with "The Pass" sauce which was a butter garlic sauce with crab & shrimp! “If I was rating this place on food and the server we had I would rate it a five, but I am throwing in the pre-dinner service and reception upon arrival for a large group, which I found lacking.The good is that our server did an excellent job. The food was very good, everything came out it a timely manner and was great.The negative:I phoned about a month in advance to explain that I was looking for a reservation for 25 to 40 people with questions about them being able to accommodate and the logistics. I was assured it was no problem. I phoned with a reservation for 25 two weeks prior to the date and said I would let them know if that changed. Four days before the reservation I phoned with an updated number of 30; I had to leave a message on voicemail. The day of, about four hours in advance, I phoned to make sure they knew that there would be 30 and that the voicemail had been received. I was told yes it had.We arrived at the restaurant, I told the hostess our group and number of guests. She said the reservation was for 25. She acted a bit put out that it was a larger number. The reservation was for 6pm and of course there was part of the group that got there early, not more than 15 minutes. We didn't really expect to be seated early, but it was 6:20 before we did get seated, so we had senior citizens standing outside for 30 minutes. They had a set of tables for twenty that was ready when we arrived and the other tables they were waiting for diners to finish.I mentioned to the hostess that I was surprised with our group size that they didn't sit us in a separate room. The response was, well you would have had to give us a deposit. This was the first that I had even heard that this was an option. Giving a deposit would not have been an issue. I'm not sure why when I made the original inquiry about booking that I wasn't given this option.I felt like they should have seated the tables they had for twenty and let them order drinks while they waited for the other tables to be available. We had people with canes standing outside for 30 minutes while those tables sat empty. We had someone in the group request to go to the bar and get drinks while they waited and the hostess told them that if they did, they might have to get up if they needed the seating for a diner at the bar without a reservation.I never saw the hostess smile once or make eye contact with a single person, not to anyone in our group, or several people that showed up and were seated while we waited. Maybe she was having a rough night, but as a business owner, I sure wouldn't want that the first interaction my guests got. Several in our party thought she was just to the point of being rude.As I said in the beginning, the server and the food were very good, but it would behoove them to have all of their employees on the same page when it comes to what they have available to accommodate groups and to share that when people are booking.“
“This is one of those easy to miss scruffy shack type places with absolutely incredible food, great service and a bunch of picnic tables on a grass area right on the beach. One of the best and most memorable meal experiences ever. I am coming back several times while I am still in the area.Parking: Right next to a large free municipal lot. Probably crowded during peak tourist season, but plenty of spaces.Kid-friendliness: Outdoor picnic tables right on a sandy beach. Perfect for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Right on ground level off the parking lot - should be navigable“
“This is a unique, little restaurant with excellent food and superior ambiance. As soon as I walked in the door and was shown to the room that was exclusively for our eight people birthday party, I knew this was a most unusual place. The food was perfect. I had one of the most delicious smoked tuna dip I've ever had!The waitstaff is superior in every way. Our waitress was efficient, quick to refill water and tea, and waited patiently to get our orders.My only suggestion is to put up a sign indicating which way to go once you park. I circled the parking lot three times before I saw my friend waving at me. I would hate for that lovely, little place to miss even one person.“
“My grandson had the best birthday ever. We flew in for lunch and everyone from the hospitality on the taramac to entrance through the front doors and beyond gave us all such a warm and welcoming and friendly greeting.The pilots that were flying in and out made my grandson eager to learn more about aviation.Several pilots more than willing gave my grandson thier time to speak with him and encourage his curiosty of aviation.The homade mac and cheese was the bedt !Thanks to his aunt Leilani and uncle Tony Rosebaum for taking him up on his first flight. Great atmosphere all around.Kid-friendliness: My grandson was in awe of the military training pilots that took thier time to speak with him encouraging him in the field of aviation. Several also gave him patches off their uniforms.He said it was the best birthday ever!“

“Owners accent is really thick, between it and my hearing loss it wasn’t great at first. It was a misunderstanding about Boston crème being sold out. Seriously no big deal, I didn’t understand what he was saying and I got 2 bigger donuts to feast on anyway. My son had to communicate for me because I am very hard of hearing.Onto the donuts. Dough is light and fluffy with a crisp exterior, fillings were exactly what I expected, devilishly delicious. They are super sweet! They also had kolaches, did not try this go because I wanted a sugar rush.“

“Joined friends for dinner here recently. Lovely atmosphere, attentive service. While the food was good, I found the menu to be somewhat limited. I greatly enjoyed the savory cheesecake, as did my companions. My Ropa Vieja was a bit dry, unfortunately; more attention to cooking time might be warranted, but the sauce on the dish was outstanding. The cocktails were well-crafted also. I will definitely visit again, because I noticed that there is very inviting exterior seating in the rear courtyard. Nice place to lounge for a drink and a bite.“
“We love coming here. We’ve tried just about everything on the menu and honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything you order. Our go to favorites are the wings. They make delicious ranch and spicy ranch and there are cheaper beer prices during happy hour which is from 3-6 I believe. They also have karaoke nights and during Cruising The Coast we were privileged to witness some of the most beautiful singing voices. The service is always friendly and the food along with the atmosphere is great. Good for date nights or bring the whole family. The salmon, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and combo platter is also something we recommend if you don’t won’t the typical burger or wings but you’ll never be disappointed.“
