“Sometimes you get good advice from a hotel bartender on local places to eat around town and sometimes you get sent to a whole shit show. This time we found a winner!! We stayed at The Westin and were down at the bar grabbing drinks before we went out for dinner. He immediately, without hesitation, not only said this was the only place we should go, he also told us exactly what server we should ask for. He said that Casey was the man who we needed to see. (This was a year ago, so I hope he is still there). Arrived to a packed house but were able to slide in pretty quickly. The place is stupid cute. It's in an old diner and all of the old feel still in it. Fine dining in an old diner. Love it. I'm not into asking for servers I have never met so we just rolled the dice. Server arrives and it's none other than our man Casey. He was pretty rad I must say. He could have owned the place with all of the pride that beamed from him when he talked about the dishes. All of the food was fantastic. Menu may have changed in a year so I won't drool on about it too much. I will say this.... We had a Dry Aged Bone In Ribeye that was the special and holy shit. My wife still says it's the best steak she has ever had. Desserts were awesome! Fried pies with ice cream and a Cinnamon Roll Tiramisu. Oh my goodness! I cannot wait to come back here! '24 - 27/100“

“The food here was excellent—it was very, very good. We had an issue with the one of the menu items taking a long time to come out and voiced our concerns. However the manager made it right so in the end it was all good. Despite that issue, I would still highly recommend this restaurant.“

“It's astonishing how a place called 'Not Just a Burger' can flip our expectations like a perfectly grilled patty!I work just a mile down the road. I've always passed there thinking it must be just "ok". Today me and a buddy from work decided to go there on a whim and I have to say it's one of the best burgers around!I guess you could say, they're not just serving burgers, they're serving up smiles!“

“The service was extremely friendly. My waiter had plenty of knowledge about the drinks The restaurant itself had the perfect setting. The pianist is extremely talented and when he started playing Purple Rain, I knew this I was in the right place The food was amazing. I ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and string beans. As to put in perspective of the taste, this was the first time that I was in a restaurant and cleaned my entire place Will definitely be back“

“Out of town, again on business, looking for a good place to eat (and have a drink). Well, I landed on The Manship Wood Fired Kitchen. I usually sit at the bar because I'm by myself. Anyway, the bartender (Angela) is knowledgeable on bourbons (what I like). She didn't treat me like I asked stupid questions. Believe me, I asked a lot. I tried her old fashioned and Manhattan (a perfect Manhattan is what I like). Both were very good. I usually make my own at home and love them so I compare to those. They have a great bourbon/rye selection and other spirits - very extensive. I had the Fisherman's style red dish which is blacked. It comes with cauliflower. Dinner was excellent. I ordered the recommended pecan pie cobbler. I'm not a fan of cobbler. This crust is a cornbread crust. Oh my gosh. Trust me on this. (I know you don't know me from Adam to actually trust me, lol) It was amazing. If you like pecan pie and are a connoisseur of it, you will love this. I really have zero negatives about this place. Not the food or service or anything else. Everything was excellent. Visit this place if in the Jackson area. Obviously bar tenders change and so do servers but this place is worth a visit. Do it!!“

“Lou's is what the Jackson dining scene needed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and exudes a cozy and welcoming vibe. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I recommend the brisket toast, crawfish grits, and s'mores cheesecake. The smoky brisket was generously heaped onto perfectly toasted bread. The creamy grits provided the ideal canvas for succulent crawfish, each bite bursting with flavor. The s'mores cheesecake was nothing short of a heavenly creation. It was velvety smooth, with a luscious chocolate graham cracker crust, elevated by toasted marshmallow topping. Honestly, it is probably the best cheesecake I've ever had!“

“I was surprised to find place that is down home cooking in a “fast food” style way. I called to place a to go order and she told me they have a drive thru and would get me outta there in 5 minutes. I said say no more! So far I’ve been twice and had the chopped steak and fish plate. If you’re looking for that down home cooked taste, especially on a quick lunch break, I would highly recommend this place.“

“Brent's Drugs exudes nostalgic diner vibes, complete with friendly service and classic charm. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a waiter who promptly seated us and offered assistance. Opting for the Cookie Monster Sundae to go, priced at around $8 plus tax, we were treated to a decadent treat. The sundae boasted a generous serving of ice cream layered with chocolate fudge, crushed graham crackers, Oreos, and topped with whipped cream. It was deliciously satisfying, though I couldn't help but imagine it elevated further with the addition of chocolate chip cookies and perhaps blue ice cream to match the "cookie monster" theme. While I didn't sample any entrees, based on the stellar service, inviting ambiance, and delightful sundae, I'm eager to explore more of their menu on my next visit.“

“Great Great food ?? 9 out of 10 times I've eaten there everything was delicious. There was a time or two where an item on my plate wasn't anything to brag about but it mostly is, most of the time!Parking: Big parking lotKid-friendliness: Very kid friendly environment. Mostly older country folks eat here. 90% of the dine-in customers are 45-65 year olds.Wheelchair accessibility: Their parking lot is gravel but it's smooth and small rocks, mostly packed really sturdy ground.“

“I've had a lot of pizza over my lifetime, and I have had some really good pizza. Y'all. This is the BEST pizza I have ever had! I tried the Black and Blue pizza and wow. The steak was perfect, the Bleu cheese wasn't overpowering, and the thin sliced onions and mushrooms took it over the top! Seriously, come and try some! What I really love is that they have a "Wheel of Flavor" that lets you try three different kinds of pizza on one pizza, which is perfect for sharing or just trying different flavors when you can't make up your mind! Also, those dried mushrooms were delicious!“

“The food was good. The service is a little slow. I don't recommend going on your one-hour lunch. They do have a great lunch special. The atmosphere is a little loud but at least they are playing great music. Very loud. I give the food 10/10 & service & atmosphere 7/10. But you make sure you go and support this restaurant. You will enjoy your food. Be aware they add gratitude to the bill.“
“Great traditional Southern style plate lunch during the week. At night the place takes on a totally different vibe with some of the newest and best rock bands entertaining patrons. “Everything was good. I have one complaint. I dropped by fork while eating and asked a waitress to get me another and she literally listened to my request and ignored the request. She never gave me a replacement fork and never acknowledged my request. Attitudes are very important. Thankfully, the assigned server returned later to the table to check and gave me a replacement fork.“

“My first time in GB as I'm traveling through the area. Was astounded by the food and variety of tap beers! The barmaid recommended the turnip green bits for appetizer and the bayou catfish for the entree. My goodness! Both were fantastic! And the SPB beer was my new favorite!! Needless to say, I'll be back. Only wish I had gotten the name of the barmaid. Very helpful and so nice!“

“I work at the Medical Mall and go to Piccadilly at times if I need a quick lunch. Do not usually want a big meal when working. Would like to have more options for a la carte (individual dishes from the menu). Asked for one meat item (cajun chicken soup on rice), but was told would have to pay full price of a whole meal at 10.99. Got the whole meal out of desperation because I went to lunch late on a Friday and other places where closed. The portion of the meat item alone was more than I needed and most of the meal went in the garbage. Do not like to waste money or food. Need more options to eat light please. Also putting up a posted cost of meal choices (veggie plate and what it includes, ect.) would be nice so it is easier to know what the rules are. Wanted to comment because myself and others would like these light choices. Would come there more often and know others would too!“

“I was happy to discover this gem. It is close to my mom's house so if she's not cooking, then im coming down the street. As a Mississippian, I pride myself on good Southern Soul food. And this is 1 spot that hits just about every box for me. They have seats for dining in & tvs. I went on a Sunday right before they were closing at 4. It's already hard enough to find a good soul food spot open on a Sunday. The staff took my order over the phone and I got there 15 minutes later and it was ready. I tried their fried chicken with some creamy mac & cheese & dressing. Now prior to this Ive had similar meals at other locations and was not impressed. This spot definitely made my visit! The food was so hot, good, and seasoned well; even my mom was impressed. So that's a great sign. I would definitely be back.“

“Had the Philly and tots. Everything was fresh and so delicious and at a reasonable price. Definitely worth the stop. Food was worth the price I paid. Not too many of these around these days but when I see one better believe I'm stopping by.“
“The food and atmosphere was great as always. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star review was the service this visit. We got to our table at 7:00 (which was our reservation time) and didn't leave till after 10:00. We watched other tables come and go, so not sure why it was taking our service so long. Then to cap it off, we ordered a couple desserts and after waiting for them about 20-25 minutes, the waiter tells us, "I'm sorry, we won't be able to serve your desserts tonight", then just walks away, no explanation or anything. It was a really odd experience, never complained or had any issues other than waiting so long, but we were enjoying our company, so we let it go, but by the time we left, it was like, what happened and why did things take so long and what was with the desserts?“

“We were not expecting much and were pleasantly surprised. My daughter wanted a sausage and cheese plate and they are one of the few places that offers one. The sausage was delicious. It was juicy and full of flavor. We loved the seasoning. My husband got the rib plate with baked beans and slaw. The meat was falling off the bone! The beans were hot and flavorful. My family is picky about coleslaw. But they loved this one! The service was fast and the employees are very nice. The place looks like a locally owned bbq joint and had just the right atmosphere! We had to laugh about going up and down stairs to get in. We lived in the area years ago and know it will flood at the first drop of rain. The retaining wall is a great touch. I know anyone that had lived in Pearl understands. We will be visiting again soon.“

“I ordered catering for a client lunch after they recommended Newks. This was the first time I had heard of this place, but we had a fantastic experience. I chose to pick it up instead of having it delivered, and I’m glad I did because it’s an impressive operation at the store. The team was quick to help, professional, and went the extra mile even to get us ice. The food was great (try the pimento sandwiches), and my client was thrilled! Thank you, Newk’s Flowood!“

“I visited this location with my stepson for the first time this morning. It was by far the best WH experience I’ve had. The place was clean and well taken care of. The service was PHENOMENAL. Every single person behind the counter made a point to speak to us and ask how we were doing. One of the cooks was so kind to my stepson and truly made his day, he made sure to check with my stepson that all the food was cooked to his liking. I was so happy that they made the visit feel so special because this breakfast was his reward for doing well in school. This is now the only WH I will be visiting! “I pass 6 Waffle House restaurants to come to this one. If you’re not from the area you would probably stop at the one by the interstate that is very hit or miss(more miss than hit) not knowing another one is a quarter mile around the corner. But I normally only show up over night in the 3am hours and they’re not as busy. Everyone is always cool. Food is on point especially if the big guy with the dreads is working.“

“20240327 Miss Mississippi 2007, Kimberly, recommended this place. I stopped in to get some pies, and the young lady at the counter was so nice. I got the beef, chicken with veggies, tex mex, roagie, and pecan. The tex mex is the best. Chicken and veggies reminds me of chicken pot pie, but it only had 3 small cubes of chicken. For the price, I expect a little but more meat. The oecan pie was good but a bit too sweet. I don't like pecan, but this is like candy. The pies were a bit greasy, but expected since they are fried. For some reason, my mouth felt funny after eating the pies. Might be the grease. I prefer if there's more filling in the pies, and less greasy.“
