“My new favorite lunch spot - some of the best veggies and blue plate proteins with plenty of sitting room and also the convenience of a drive thru. They rotate through very popular proteins & southern style veggies based on day of the week. Their fried okra is just like my memaws was - love it. I've just discovered this place recently, and have already been back multiple times. The MS pot roast has been my fav so far, but I'm looking forward to trying it all. The locals love this place and it gets crowded at lunch, which is why I especially enjoy the drive thru option. My son likes their chocolate cake more than any other...I don't bake so I'm not upset with that. Lol“

“Lou's is what the Jackson dining scene needed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and exudes a cozy and welcoming vibe. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I recommend the brisket toast, crawfish grits, and s'mores cheesecake. The smoky brisket was generously heaped onto perfectly toasted bread. The creamy grits provided the ideal canvas for succulent crawfish, each bite bursting with flavor. The s'mores cheesecake was nothing short of a heavenly creation. It was velvety smooth, with a luscious chocolate graham cracker crust, elevated by toasted marshmallow topping. Honestly, it is probably the best cheesecake I've ever had!“

“The service was extremely friendly. My waiter had plenty of knowledge about the drinks The restaurant itself had the perfect setting. The pianist is extremely talented and when he started playing Purple Rain, I knew this I was in the right place The food was amazing. I ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and string beans. As to put in perspective of the taste, this was the first time that I was in a restaurant and cleaned my entire place Will definitely be back“

“Traveling for work from Dallas Texas and came across this gem. Before you could open the door you could smell the food from the outside. THE FOOD IS AMAZING FRESH AND TASTY! I came for the pork chops but they were sold out BUT THE HOMEMADE HOMECOOKED WITH LOVE CHEESE BURGER AND FRIES I GOT TOOK MY TASTE BUDD TO THE MOON. Thanks for the best meal I’ve had since I left home. I’ll be back for a bucket of those fries.“

“I was surprised to find place that is down home cooking in a “fast food” style way. I called to place a to go order and she told me they have a drive thru and would get me outta there in 5 minutes. I said say no more! So far I’ve been twice and had the chopped steak and fish plate. If you’re looking for that down home cooked taste, especially on a quick lunch break, I would highly recommend this place.“

“I'm from Texas and was visiting Flowood. First time visit. I ordered the Fancy Nancy on a croissant and the broccoli salad. Everything was fresh and delicious and the price was very reasonable the amount that I got. It's delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish there was a Chicken Salad Chick in Georgetown, TX! I believe it would do very well here.“

“This restaurant was worth 10 stars! We visited late and they brought the food back out to accommodate us. Everything on the menu was homemade and melt in your mouth AMAZING! We tried the pork chops, grilled chicken and ribs. All three of the meats were fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, juicy. The sweet potatoes were the best sweet potatoes we had ever had in our lives! The restaurant was family run and all of the ladies were beyond friendly and overly excited to hear about our travels coming from Kansas City. This is a must in the area and it was easy to access just off the highway.“

“EVERYTHING! All 3 of us got different, perfectly cooked and artfully plated fish dishes and enjoyed a pan of cornbread and strawberry salad with feta and vinaigrette. Bread pudding was STUPENDOUS as was the Caramel Pie. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to return at lunch with friends. “The Halfshell Oyster House is always fantastic. I absolutely love the chargrilled oysters. I order them all the time. And the gumbo, and fish, and steaks... it's all so good. The ambiance of the restaurant screams date night, but it's also a great spot for birthday celebrations or just a good lunch or dinner. I will return. I can't go too long without those oysters.“
