“The food was not as good as it usually is. Greens were not hot (a couple at the table next to me said the same); fries were left in the fryer too long... was brought another serving of fries and they seemed to have come out the grease too soon (done but not golden & crispy). The fish was a bit dark too, not that perfect honey gold color it normally is. I had the chicken for the first time. It was good. The cornbread, hushpuppies, coleslaw and pickled onions were good. The waitress was either new, nervous, or had no sense of urgency.“
“We ordered food for our workplace. Our order got mixed up but when I called for the manager, I spoke with Mandy and she fixed everything and made my day with her positive attitude and pleasant voice! We are actually ordering Slim Chickens again right now thanks to Mandy!“

“The seating was a little cramped on the long tables. Two oversized people can't sit back to back in the isles. Just won't work. Everything else about the restaurant is great! If you never had the bread pudding by the salad bar, try it! You'll thank me later.“
“Lou's is what the Jackson dining scene needed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and exudes a cozy and welcoming vibe. The staff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I recommend the brisket toast, crawfish grits, and s'mores cheesecake. The smoky brisket was generously heaped onto perfectly toasted bread. The creamy grits provided the ideal canvas for succulent crawfish, each bite bursting with flavor. The s'mores cheesecake was nothing short of a heavenly creation. It was velvety smooth, with a luscious chocolate graham cracker crust, elevated by toasted marshmallow topping. Honestly, it is probably the best cheesecake I've ever had!“
“The service was extremely friendly. My waiter had plenty of knowledge about the drinks The restaurant itself had the perfect setting. The pianist is extremely talented and when he started playing Purple Rain, I knew this I was in the right place The food was amazing. I ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and string beans. As to put in perspective of the taste, this was the first time that I was in a restaurant and cleaned my entire place Will definitely be back“

“I was surprised to find place that is down home cooking in a “fast food” style way. I called to place a to go order and she told me they have a drive thru and would get me outta there in 5 minutes. I said say no more! So far I’ve been twice and had the chopped steak and fish plate. If you’re looking for that down home cooked taste, especially on a quick lunch break, I would highly recommend this place.“
“I'm from Texas and was visiting Flowood. First time visit. I ordered the Fancy Nancy on a croissant and the broccoli salad. Everything was fresh and delicious and the price was very reasonable the amount that I got. It's delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish there was a Chicken Salad Chick in Georgetown, TX! I believe it would do very well here.“
“This restaurant was worth 10 stars! We visited late and they brought the food back out to accommodate us. Everything on the menu was homemade and melt in your mouth AMAZING! We tried the pork chops, grilled chicken and ribs. All three of the meats were fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, juicy. The sweet potatoes were the best sweet potatoes we had ever had in our lives! The restaurant was family run and all of the ladies were beyond friendly and overly excited to hear about our travels coming from Kansas City. This is a must in the area and it was easy to access just off the highway.“

“EVERYTHING! All 3 of us got different, perfectly cooked and artfully plated fish dishes and enjoyed a pan of cornbread and strawberry salad with feta and vinaigrette. Bread pudding was STUPENDOUS as was the Caramel Pie. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to return at lunch with friends. Definitely going to become frequent diners and meet up with friends. Great price point for this establishment! A GREAT FIRST VISIT! 100/100“
“The food was amazing, but what really made our experience was the service. Taylor was fantastic, gave us excellent recommendations and accommodated us joyfully even though we came in for a full dinner about 30 minutes before closing. He brought us samples of their baked oysters (omg so good), gave us great recommendations, and arranged for a delicious bread pudding surprise for our birthday guests. Thank you Taylor! We look forward to coming back to Half Shell the next time we're in Mississippi!!Dietary restrictions: One person in our party has a nut allergy and Taylor knew the options on the menu that would be safe for us.“
“The Halfshell Oyster House is always fantastic. I absolutely love the chargrilled oysters. I order them all the time. And the gumbo, and fish, and steaks... it's all so good. The ambiance of the restaurant screams date night, but it's also a great spot for birthday celebrations or just a good lunch or dinner. I will return. I can't go too long without those oysters.“
“Stopped here on the way through and so glad we did. The steak and fries is amazing! Had the beef and cheddar and wings...all also great. And the smoked margarita topped off the experience with a little jalapeño infused simple syrup! Yum! Definitely will be back. Staff was great and place was super clean and had a cool vibe.“
“Went here for the first time and it was really good! We got the pimiento cheese fritters and they were pretty good. I got the catfish that is stuffed with crawfish and it tasted great. I also tried some of the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and was seasoned really good. The sides I tried weren’t awesome though. I got the green beans and I like green beans that are cooked all of the way through and they were crunchy.“
“We went to this restaurant on a whim looking for good food in the middle of the day. This was our first time trying it out. The food and atmosphere did not disappoint. We chose to dine outside because it is very upscale inside and we were a little under dressed. My son loved his food. He is a picky eater so that is a plus for us to find a place he likes. I hate I didn't have pictures of the food but we were so hungry we didn't have time to take any!!!. The wait staff was top notch. We will definitely be frequenting this place going forward.“
