“Came into Boone for dinner after hiking. We decided to eat here at The Local. Had Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer, which was pretty good, and the Steak and Frites, it was pretty good also. Waitress was awesome, very attentive! Great atmosphere. Would recommend!“

Despite our prompt arrival for dinner, the restaurant was already bustling, and we secured seats at the bar. The service was both cordial and efficient.The culinary experience exceeded our expectations. The dishes were remarkably flavorful and fresh. Noteworthy highlights included the succulent duck leg, the delightful chirashi, and the expertly grilled hamachikama (yellowtail collar). However, the Korean taco fell short due to overly sour kimchi and chewy, lackluster meat.Overall, our visit left a positive impression, and we eagerly anticipate returning to explore more of their enticing menu offerings in the future.“

“Came here with a group of 4 for my birthday dinner and absolutely loved it! Cozy vibe, great food and excellent service. Highlights: Brussel sprouts, Caesar salad, filet and meatloaf. Server was on top of it the entire time. Very knowledgeable on the menu, gave recommendations, and was super attentive throughout the entire meal. Thanks for a great experience!!“

“Great eclectic food. Lots of clever options, local beers, friendly staff. The only quibble would be that they could use a few more staff. Service was a bit slow and our server seemed run off her feet. But the food was great, once ordered, arrived quickly. Solid recommend.Vegetarian options: Many dishes are vegetarian. Others come with ‘your choice of protein’.“
“This courtyard hotel is a bit nicer then the standard courtyards. The lobby is clean and new with lots of nice sitting spots. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony (gold elite). The staff was very helpful, our room seemed newer as well. Good location near ASU and lots of stores and restaurants within a short drive.“
“I recently bowled 3 games at High Country Lanes and had a wonderful experience. This is a vintage bowling alley with high tech scoring systems and great video visuals. The staff is super friendly. It’s clean, even the rental bowling shoes are great and the house balls are well organized. We had the pretzel bites and they were awesome. Free refills on the sodas. Full bar available. “Went to Peppers tonight. And wouldn’t believe who we were seated next to… the matriarch herself, Jean Lawson. That woman is a hoot. No wonder they named a sandwich after her!!!!???? She told many entertaining stories that you may be lucky enough to hear, if you meet her at the bar. Did any of you locals know she went by the pseudonym Wild Turkey? Word on the street. ?“
“We stopped going here a couple years ago because the quality of food and service was atrocious. On a whim, we recently decided to give it another shot. Must be new managers or something because this place has done a 180. The staff were excellent and attentive and the food was spot on. We’ve been back twice and each time the service and food has been top notch. If it’s been awhile, give them another chance. They’ve really turned it around.“
“We’ve live in the Boone area for over a decade and have waited to go here. The food was absolutely delicious. We did the chef-choice grilled meats as a starter and the mushroom bisque. The Elk leg and Korean-bbq sausage were great. The cocktails were wonderful and our entrees were amazing as well. Service was splendid. Can’t say enough good things about our experience.“
