“Excellent service with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Relaxing peaceful and fun environment with a welcoming community. Fabulous kava and kratom! Best tasting out of all the kava bars I've been to. Affordable prices and high quality! I love the weekly events, trivia and open mic are my favorites. Great place to express yourself openly and to socialize.“
“Came into Boone for dinner after hiking. We decided to eat here at The Local. Had Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer, which was pretty good, and the Steak and Frites, it was pretty good also. Waitress was awesome, very attentive! Great atmosphere. Would recommend!“
“We had the Oreo cheesecake flavor and Michigan Pot Hole flavor and we will be back to try them all. I’ve had the ice cream sandwiches previously and they are incredible. I couldn’t resist buying a pair of hand crafted earrings (by Jess Brown) made from upcycled materials. Love them!“
“I have always gone to Starbucks until I realized one day how greedy they are and how badly they treat the homeless. I took a chance and stopped by 7 Brew and couldn’t believe not only how sweet the girl names Jess was, but the coffee is better than Starbucks. You guys are AMAZING.“
“My husband and I were in town for a weekend getaway in Boone and decided to stop by blue deer for a sweet treat. We both got the double chocolate chip cookie sandwiches but with different ice creams. My husband got the coffee ice cream and I got the peppermint ice cream. Loved the cookie sandwich! Peppermint ice cream is so hard to get right especially since it can taste like toothpaste but blue deer got it right - sweet, tasty, and perfect texture. I loved it so much that I came back the next day to get the exact same thing. The two girls working were very nice and helpful. Samples of ice cream are also offered to help narrow down your options.“
“you won’t find a space that makes you feel more wanted, welcomed, safe, and loved. Worth going back to my college town, 100%, every time. As a queer POC, I have never ever ever felt uncomfortable or out of place once. They have free Lily’s Cup covers available at request to protect your drink (& extra points for helping to avoid spills)! As far as I understand, all staff are trained for safety measures and if you ever feel in need of help or would like to share something discreetly, every person who works there will help you without question. Also! They have AWESOME theme parties, and host amazing events. It’s always “A Real Cool Time™️” ??Dietary restrictions: I’ve never seen anyone NOT get accommodated with anything they ask for. Ingredients are posted clearly on every menu item & everything is made to order (anyway) but of course if you have special dietary needs and you let them know, you’ll get exactly what you wantParking: It’s a college town, if you’re going during busy hours, you may find parking difficult. But, they do have their own lot in front of the building.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs & open floor plan“
“Let me tell you something: if you want to throw down on some truly SATISFYING southern fare, Proper is the place to do just that! There is hardly a single thing on the menu I haven't licked my plate clean after eating, but I GOTTA give a special shout out to those fried green tomatoes with the pimento cheese AND that meatloaf. I don't know who is in that kitchen, but they are FREAKING it Thursday through Sunday! Thank god for this place.“
“Great place with short walk to the Schaefer Center. I am a picky Vegan and my friend Omnivore. We both had great meals. At 5:30 pm bar seats only, which was fine. Staff was wonderful!Dietary restrictions: All dietary restrictions are covered.“
“My favorite breakfast in Boone! Their bagels are always fresh and delicious, their drinks are tasty, and I absolutely love their breakfast potatoes. My boyfriend lives out of town, and when he comes to visit, we always have to come here. I like to get the Asiago bagel, and he's a fan of the Everything but the Kitchen Sink sandwich. Have been here several times and am never disappointed.“
“Stopped in for dinner and had the honey chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and tender, the spices added a little heat while the honey added a nice bit of sweetness to it. Would definately recommend the Hatchet coffee stout. Our server was great, she had good recommendations and was very attentive. It was a very good experience and I would certainly recommend stopping by for some delicious food and beer.“
“Excellent brews (from lagers to ipas, all was great.. they even have GABF and WBC awards (for those who know what that means). Also shout to the food truck outside.. yes, pizza was good but they actually also had terrific homemade hummus too!“
“This place is the trifecta: great beer (we each had a flight and were impressed), great food (with a diverse selection), and great ambiance (local feel with friendly staff and live music). We went on a Friday night and got right in. We never felt rushed or crowded and couldn’t recommend Lost Province more highly.Vegetarian options: Plenty of non-meat options, including pizzas.“
“First time here and would definitely come back if ever in the area! We were initially going to another restaurant after hiking all day but when we drove by here it looked like a fun little place so we turned around. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You order on your phone with a QR code and pick it up when ready. We were very impressed with the speed it took to get the food as well as the taste!“
“The Cardinal has exceptional burgers with a menu they keep updated frequently with fresh items. Their seasonal cocktails are always delicious. They keep great local brews on tap with a variety of craft beers from all over. One of our favorite places to eat and drink in Boone!Editing 3 years later, Nov 2020:The Cardinal continues to be one of our favorite places in town. They have done an outstanding job in caring for their employees and greater community throughout Covid and continue to show love for every human. Favorite place for some tasty food and some drinks!“

“I recently bowled 3 games at High Country Lanes and had a wonderful experience. This is a vintage bowling alley with high tech scoring systems and great video visuals. The staff is super friendly. It’s clean, even the rental bowling shoes are great and the house balls are well organized. We had the pretzel bites and they were awesome. Free refills on the sodas. Full bar available. Check out High Country Lanes for some good times and fun exercise.“
“Very cool place! Was looking for a place near our cabin and saw this. So good and the owner was super chill and funny. Helped us pick out bbq sauces to try out! I got the piggy platter and it was all fantastic, my girls tried ribs fir the first time, falling off the bone good!“
“I decided on Boone Bagelry rather than grabbing something from a local chain. I love local eateries!I was not disappointed! I had a bagel/cream-cheese and coffee. The bagel was crusty on the outside chewy on the inside. The coffee was nice and hot. They have many different kinds of bagels. They also have many different kinds of cream cheese spreads. The staff / friendly. I enjoyed my coffee and bagel so much, when I come back to Boone, I’m heading back to this place for a warm and refreshing experience.Lots of parking in their own parking lot .“
“Wildwood Market is one of my favorite all-time small grocery-and-lunch-and-dinner (in the summer) stores. The food is healthy, fresh and consistently great! Owners Joe Mager and Bryony Renouf have built a wonderful hang-out place for locals and visitors alike.“
