“Update: I adore Amy and her family! It's so sad that I'm 40 minutes away now. We became regular customers over the years. Whenever I'm in Cboro, I always try and get by to say, "Hello!" and pick up shrimp eggrolls, vegetarian dishes with mung bean sprouts (ask if they can be added if you like them), or most any dish... Delicious!-CamelliaOn my first visit many years ago:Love the shrimp egg rolls! I gobbled the vegetable angel hair, but it needed a little more seasoning. Warm, friendly service.“
“I have been going here for years, and getting takeout from here since high school. I’ll say this this a takeout place. Not for atmosphere. But the food always slaps. Big fan. Hard to find good Chinese in the area and this really fits the bill.“
“If you want amazing, authentic Sichuan food without all the pretensions that come with a "fancy" restaurant, then come here. This is legit Sichuan style food that is bursting with flavor and with big portion sizes for how much you pay.Try the garlic and eggplant, ba shu chicken, or the tai an spicy fish fillet soup. Those are my personal favorites. All are AMAZING.P.S. Some people complain that the wait staff don't come around often enough. In authentic Chinese restaurants, it is not expected that the server checks on you often, and it is perfectly polite (and expected) to flag them down. Just waive and they will come immediately.“
“I would say a good dinner. Not as quiet as hoped for. But not the fault of the owners. The food was very good: Skirt Steak & Arancini (a bit overpriced) & Bolognese (perfect price and taste). $93 w tip and no drinks was a bit high. Will we go back.??? Maybe. It would be for the reason of the Bolognese alone though.“
“This is our go to sushi restaurant in chapel hill/ durham. The sushi is consistent and delicious. The sushi chef is one of the best I’ve seen in this area. It’s always superb sush. My particular favorite is going during their lunch special , which includes weekdays and Saturdays. My children love the sushi and we get a couple of the triples that include 3 rolls with soup or salad. We love their spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, Philadelphia roll, and generally the rest of their menu is all really amazing. The price is amazing and we always devour all the food. If you are someone who cares about quality, ratios, and consistency, then you will love it like we do. They do have a list of fancier rolls that we occasionally get and are also amazing. But we keep coming back because we hit the perfect balance between amazing cost and amazing, delicious food. You get the best quality and the best price here and it’s so worth it! Highly recommend it!“
“First time and we loved everything. Best Indian experience in the area. We had mango lassi, Thai iced tea (different in a good way), saag paneer, veggie momos (wow!), aaloo gobi (veggie and delicious blend of flavors. The complementary lentil (?) crackers and chutney were appreciated. I look forward to going back with friends. Very good service too.“
“I definitely recommend this spot. I poured through the reviews while looking for: Chinese restaurants near me. This was the highest rated Chinese food restaurant in the area and it did not disappoint. The front staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. I didn't know it was a sit down restaurant, but I would sit there and eat based on my initial reaction with the staff.“
“I enjoyed eating here. The food came quickly and was all delicious, no misses.I ordered cucumber salad (fresh and tasty), scallion pancakes (normal, good), noodles with szechuan sauce (really yummy), and general tso's chicken (not my choice, but friend enjoyed). Portion was good, we left with enough leftovers for a solid lunch the next day.Price was really fair for all this food. I would come again and maybe try the desserts next time.“
“My wife went there with kids yesterday. MK was really awesome. She made sure all food comes on time and knew what are the entree which didn’t have any tree nuts for my son. Manager came and asked if our food was good and if there is anything he could do. Overall really great experience.“
“Over several decades or more Jade Palace has been a fixture here and is known as one of the best restaurants with an incredible menu and service in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area. Not much has changed since and during the onset of the pandemic when they wisely shifted gears becoming a takeout-only restaurant in the same location, yet still offering the extensive, entire menu and kind, timely service. There is an outstanding heritage of great restaurants and shops here and I encourage those new to Chapel Hill and Carrboro to find Jade Palaces’ website and order for any occasion, whether a dinner for two or a group gathering.“
