“We recently moved back to the South Raleigh/Cary area and have had trouble finding our go-to Chinese takeout place. Our search is over! The general tsos chicken was delicious and the pork fried rice was flavorful without being greasy. I’m not normally an egg roll lover but loved the egg roll as well. Can’t wait to try out some new stuff on the menu!“
“Best authentic Chinese in the area. We do not order the more American tailored stuff. We only order family style. The place is small and very basic. But you go there for the food, not the ambience. We most often take out as a family, but dine in with friends.“
“Peng's is one of the best local finds I've discovered trying restaurants since my recent move to the area. I had the spicy wontons appetizer. For my main, I had string beans with ground pork, spicy chicken, and eggplant with garlic sauce casserole. Everything was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors were well considered. I highly recommend giving this place a try because my experience was delightful and I'm confident yours would be too! I look forward to trying more dishes here during future visits.“
“This place is well hidden, but so glad I discovered it. Food is better then other Chinese places, as the ingredients are very fresh. Eggs rolls are exceptional. Staff is helpful explaining dishes, wait time for food is short, and most items are msg free. Highly recommend!“
“Our dinner club, consisting of 7 friends, recently dined at this establishment and collectively rated it an average of 8.75 out of 10. Remarkably, the highest initial score awarded was 9.6 out of 10; however, the member later retracted their score, acknowledging that they may have exaggerated but still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. On the other hand, the lowest rating came in at 8.2 out of 10. This marks the highest average score we have given yet. Everyone thoroughly seemed to enjoy their meal. One member even said that he would be able to drink a gallon of the sauce his meal came with. We tried a majority of the menu and didn't find one thing we didn't like.“
“Restaurant is in a nice area. Service was good and fast. I ordered takeout: general tso dinner (fried rice/egg roll) and crab Rangoon. General (portion was small and not spicy). Fried just plain a little bland. Egg , very bland. Crab Rangoon 3.5/5, filling was good but wontons were hard to chew. I feel like this place has promise just needs a little more flavor. Yes I know my rating is a 4 but I’m combing service, food and atmosphere as well. I will probably return and try something else.“
“Enjoyed amazing indochinese food at outside sitting area. Vegetarian indo Chinese food was on top of the mark. Taste was good, mimic the taste of street side indo Chinese food. Staff were good and friendly, food quality and quantity both were good. Cozy place. Free parking. Will highly recommend this place for best indo Chinese foodVegetarian options: Chinese BHEL, Lat mai paneer, Paneer Tacos“
“I drove 45 minutes to this authentic northwest specialty restaurant with the intention of trying it out! I tasted my mother's taste~I shed tears because I've been craving it for so many years! I grew up in the Northwest! I haven’t encountered an authentic northwest snack here in decades! I had lunch and bought meals for tomorrow~ It’s great “
“I thought the food was wonderful. Our order was taken quickly, the food arrived hot and the restaurant was clean. I was not offered a refill and I was annoyed with the server because she sat behind the register and was on her phone. Oh well.“
“This Place is Small And I was thinking about it but I was so hungry I decided to go and eat I'm Super Very Picky But I was impressed with the food I was thinking that I was in San Francisco Where they have the best Chinese food But This Small Little Place I can Recommend To All Chinese Lover Food Is Just The Best“
“Had a lot of fun here with the wide variety of dishes to pick from. The menu can be a little intimidating at first, but honestly, just look at pictures and go with whatever you think will be good. Personally, I liked the dry noodle dishes better, but that's just because I'm not a huge broth person. The noodles were great, they are all very "slurpable", and it was kind of fun to experience the cartoon-like feeling of slurping noodles and have them glide. Really cool place, would recommend to try it out!“
“Highly recommend: Thai curry & honey-chili wings! Very flavorful menu & juicy, well-done chicken! Great customer service too! Anil was very attentive - thank you! Expect Asian fusion. I think it's Indo-Chinese inspired; but the curry tasted more Indian than Thai (still delicious either way). Will definitely return again & will add new updates, yummy food/photos we try here! Would recommend this place!“
“Really great! I’m always nervous to try a new place haha. Came in, greeted me, ordered to go and it was ready in like 10 minutes! Hot and fresh and tasted reallllllly good (I got general tso&beef lomein) probably will be my new Chinese spot :)It is a little high for one individual. I usually pay $12 for the same meal at other places this one $20 but it does taste great so can’t be mad.“
“I love this place! As a NY transplant, it's been very hard to find good Chinese food with the depth of flavor I remember from up north. New China Chef comes very close to that nostalgic NY flavor. Yuki and her team are friendly and keep the restaurant spotless. Keep up the great work!“
“Nice, small, Asian restaurant near the Tanger Outlets area. Has a wide mix of Asian cuisines, from sushi and hibachi, to pad Thai. I opted for the chicken hibachi lunch meal which was a great deal for the price. Good portion sizes, and the lunch portions also come with salad or soup! The food came out very quickly and it was pretty good! Nothing to complain about, but nothing outstanding. A decent pick if you're looking for asian food in the area.“
“Google reviews for the win! We were in town and used G to find a good Chinese restaurant and this place is REALLY GOOD. Very authentic — felt like I was in Chinatown ! Lots of Chinese people eating here too which always says a lot. We’ll be back!“
“Always great food! We get the sweet n sour chicken, beef fried rice and veggie mei fun. I tend to judge a place by its beef fried rice and I’ve tried a half dozen places in the area before finding this gem. We’ve been coming here for years and the food is consistently great!“
“The food was really good. We went with a friend who is Chinese and she ordered for the whole table. We got 14 different plates of food. I would recommend the 'Squirrel Fish' it's fried fish served in a sweet sauce. The eggplant was also good and our favorite were the greens with garlic. Excellent. The dumplings aren't worth it. The dough was too thick. And the service wasn't great. But overall we had an enjoyable experience.“
“The spicy hot pot seasoning is super fragrant and delicious! The texture of Xicao is very special, the fat beef and beef short ribs are very fragrant, and my friend thinks the fried frog is delicious.Suitable for everyone to have dinner and have fun together~~“
“The food was good. The service was OK. I wasn't impressed especially because of the reputation and notoriety. The decor was the best part minus the spider webs. it was a very special occasion and we don't live in the area. I wouldn't make any more special plans to eat there.“
“I recently visited wok on fire for dinner. I was super excited to try indo Chinese food after a long time. The food here exceeded my expectations. I tried their Black Pepper Chicken, Cauliflower Manchurian, Veg Manchurian Gravy and their Chicken 65 fried rice. All the items I had ordered were really good. While I loved the taste of black pepper chicken, I found it too oily for my liking. I would definitely give 5 stars if not for the over usage of oil in all the dishes. The combination of veg Manchurian and fried rice was just perfect! I would definitely visit here again.“
“Took out the other night: shrimp and broccoli and egg foo young, shrimp roll. Shrimp roll was excellent and not a bit greasy. S&B was also very good. EFY was also not dripping grease like other Chinese restaurants and tasted pretty good so I have to give them a very good rating.“
“Quick and friendly service! Decent sushi for a good price.Dietary restrictions: Wide variety of menu options to fit many dietary needsParking: Free parkingKid-friendliness: Kid friendly, staff was very accommodating for our childWheelchair accessibility: Yes, restaurant was wheelchair accessible.“
“My friend and I ate there today (Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024) for the very first time and were very pleased with the two dishes we had: General Ching's Batter Chicken and Moo Shoo Vegetable dishes. They were both delicious and generous servings. We will be back and also recommend the restaurant to others!“
“Delicious food. Only negative is that the breaded chicken is mostly pieces of breading. Out of my entire dish I had maybe 7 out of the 30 pieces of (chicken) with actual meat inside. Amazing flavor and really great pork fried rice with the combination plate.“
“This is by far the best Chinese take out I have had since living in the Carolinas. Been coming here for years and they have always been consistent.Quality of the food, cleanliness of the kitchen, and customer service is 5 stars.By far the best quality and authentic NY Style pork fried rice I've had, great portions, and great selection. Can't say enough about this place.“
“9/10 I have a soft spot for this place and will literally come back for just one dish.We came here on Lunar new year and the staff took care of us.I will only be reviewing this one food item as it is a must try. I have mentioned in other reviews that I am ancestrally from Sichuan. This dish gave me a taste of “home”.Spicy grilled Sichuan fish:9.5/10 - I rarely give food items anything above an 8, but in terms of flavour this place can be as good as genuine places in Sichuan (maybe depends on chef’s mood). This is the dish I come to and get my Sichuan cuisine fix. It is whole grilled fish soaked in Sichuan chillies and peppercorn broth. True Chinese style (with bone) and true authentic flavouring, it’s not actually very spicy compared to the true Chinese counterparts, but I can’t handle all that much spice (sad considering my heritage, I know) so this is good for me.How did I hear about this dish? A friend of mine from Chengdu (Sichuan) tried this restaurant and excitedly came to tell me this Sichuan fish is arguably better than many places in Sichuan. If there’s anything you should know, if a local who just came to the US comes and tells you their home dish actually tastes like home here, you better believe they’re not kidding. I had to personally vet this and I wholeheartedly agree. Tempted to give it a 10/10 given that this place is in NC, maybe I’ll come back and revise the score.“
“The only thing that I don’t like is the mistreatment of the live animals that are at the “Asian Market Section.” I understand that they are there to be sold to be eaten.(But they don’t have to suffer first).Other than that, Great place for grocery shopping. And the bakery is very delicious.“
“I've successfully located the top Chinese eatery in town. Each dish here tastes absolutely incredible, and the rates are very fair. The restaurant's personnel is all extremely courteous and well-kept. Encourage everyone to visit this place.“
“We got a recommendation to give Asian Kitchen a try from my fiancés boss. They had been talking about how we like to go try new restaurants. Especially authentic ones. Her Bos's title her we had to try this place. She stopped with her kids one day and they fell in love We got there maybe 2 hours before close. It was busy but not packed. Comfortable. Welcoming. Staff seated us right away. Super friendly. We took a look at the menu and were excited to see so many genuine authentic Chinese dishes. For appetizers we got the : 1.) beef Filet w/ tripe in chili sauce. It was soooooo good. I loved it. ( too spicy for my fiancé lol) The heat was very spicy but after a while you acclimate nicely. I enjoy tripe so Texture were really nice. (Be mindful if you not a fan of different/weird textures because you might not like it.) I still recommend trying it at least once! If you like spicy You won't regret it!10/10 2.) spinach and chicken dumplings to share. They came in an order of 10! Very flavorful, definitely handmade. We couldn't eat them all so a coup came home with us. lol . 9/10. For our mains we got the : Twice Cooked Pork - recommended by my fiancé boss as her family's go to dish. It did not disappoint. The thinly sliced pork belly packed a deep rich and satisfying flavor I'll be thinking about for a long time. It is CRAVEABLE. The peppers added a wonderful flavor and crunch to the dish. Served perfectly with a side of white rice. 10/10 Short Rib Shaved Noodles - the only way I can describe this dish is life giving. It was one of the most flavorful, rich broths I've probably ever had. The shaved noodles were cooked to perfection. Beef short ribs so tender. As I was eating this dish all I could think was next time I had a cold. I'm ordering 2 orders of this incredible soup to make me feel better. I cannot recommend this enough. 10/10 We cannot wait to go back and try more of this amazing menu!“
“This hole in the wall of a shopping center is delicious! I wasn't sure about them at first. When I placed my order, I ordered Sesame Chicken for my mom and the Orange vegetarian option (bean-curd maybe?) for myself. Apparently, the worker who took my order assumed I only wanted to order vegetarian, and just made me the Sesame vegetarian option. Thankfully, I checked my bag before leaving and realized I was missing a dish, and the dish I had was not the one I ordered. I bought a Sesame Chicken and was told that orange veg is the same as Sesame veg, only it has sesame seeds on it... riiiight. I had just finished unloading my 26 foot UHAUL after driving for two days straight. I was starving and did not care what she gave me as long as my dish was vegetarian. My Sesame Veg was really, really good! They did not skimp out on the protein! I think there were only like three peices of actual vegetable in the dish, but they were at the bottom of the bowl, soaking in the sauce and so good. Mom says her sesame chicken was just as delicious! If I am ever back in this area (we were dropping off the UHAUL), I will be back! Maybe I'll see if the orange veg actually tastes like Sesame veg... I somehow doubt it! Lol“
“I've been eating Handy's since my childhood and it's my favorite takeout Chinese restaurant. My favorite items are Hot and Sour soup, curry chicken, double sautéed chicken, and general Taos chicken. Everything I've gotten here has always been good. You just can't go wrong!“
“The sesame chicken and black pepper chicken are top choices! My boyfriend loves black pepper more , but I love sesame chicken!! Great customer service and super clean restaurant! Strongly recommend for take out for a family dinner or team party!“
“The BEST General Tso Tofu and Sesame Tofu in Cary / Apex / Morrisville. Other wonderful vegetarian and vegan options!Vegetarian options: The BEST General Tso Tofu and Sesame Tofu in Cary / Apex / Morrisville. Other wonderful vegetarian and vegan options!“
“I was in the area for work and found China Cary in the Yelp app. Placed an online order for Hunan Chicken, steamed rice, and en egg roll. A woman called me to confirm and I was head that way. My order was already prepared and I was off. Got to the car and got busy on some might fine Hunan Chicken. The sauce had an appropriate amount of heat and spicy, the vegetable medley was cooked nicely and the egg roll was crunchy on the outside and packed with shrimp and cabbage. Deeelish! I found nothing wrong with this meal and enjoyed it thoroughly!“
“The poor ratings scared me off at first, yet we were in the area and figured we’d take a chance. I’m glad we did. We ordered the Mongolian beef, lettuce wraps, and spicy chicken. They were all cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The host packaged it all up to go and put utensils, fortune cookies, and soy sauce in the bag. I know that the extras are expected, yet a nice touch to automatically do it for the customer. The location is a little set back from the main area near Lowe’s and it wasn’t busy at all for lunch. That was a concern at first, but very happy we tried.Parking: Lots of space to park during lunch hours in a strip mall near Lowe’s Foods“
“My friends and I came here for the dim sum trolleys during the weekend. It was busy and service was a little scattered where we were seated and got to pick dim sum, but had no silverware, plates, or drinks. This took a while for us to wave staff down and have chopsticks and plates to eat. When the staff finally coordinated and got us plates and chopsticks, we got to try the spring rolls, chicken feet, radish cake, shomai, momo, rice rolls, dan dan noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The chicken feet are meatier than what my friends expected and loved that they could eat more. I enjoyed the radish cakes and spring rolls because of their flavorful filling. The dan dan noodles were also really good. The atmosphere tries to be like a traditional Chinatown setting but more accommodating where they will sing and play music for someone's birthday - which is really nice. I think it's a fun experience for the Triangle experience and enjoyed the meal with my pals.“
“This place has great food and while you can eat in, I would not recommend it. All dishes are what you think of when you think traditional Chinese takeout. Wontons with meat, a flavorful homemade red sweet and sour sauce, great soups! There's always a short line so best is to order ahead and pick up. Good food with reasonable prices!“
“Food is not bad. Quantity is ok but if they could take the price down by a notch, it'd be better. There are more Chinese takeouts that offer cheaper rates for similar plates. Spending nearly $12 for a meal is an overkill here in North Carolina. Even in New York, it costs you like $10 for a single chinese takeout.“
“I like to order from here once a week or so. The food is always very good and it’s done quickly too. The folks who work there/own the place are also very nice and I can tell by the way they interact with each other and with customers that they’re genuinely good people. I always look forward to getting some Young Chow FR from here.“
“This was the best Chinese food I have ever had. We ordered pork dumplings, seseme chicken, sweet and sour chicken/shrimp, pork egg rolls, shrimp egg rolls, and their lo mein. Everything was yummy. If you are looking for the best Chinese food in the area, come here.“
“I love the sushi, miso soup, and the lunch bento ? is great option if you want to try couple dishes with little amount. However, the dumpling wasn’t really amaze me because it’s a bit dry and not so savory. Overall, it’s not bad experience.“
“The staffs are very professional , respectful, and polite. The food is exceptional and presentations perfect. Am vision impaired, but treated with high respect and always have help and feel safe and secure while in there eating. LOVE THERE GOD BLESS “
“A friend recommended this place, and I'm really glad she did. Their crab Rangoon are quite 5 I am kind of obsessed with their Singapore Noodles! It's got everything! Serving sizes are also generous. Will be working through their menu, for sure.“
“I ordered takeout and will say it is a very close second to my favorite Durham spot. I ordered a pork egg roll and got a shrimp egg roll, so be careful if you have allergies. The General Tso Chicken was really good and not very spicy. The shrimp egg foo young was very fluffy and much more like an omelette than I've had at other places. The gravy was decent. The crab Rangoon didn't taste like hey had crab and were very sweet. I did like the wonton wrapper they used, though. I can't speak to the service but the order was done quickly.“
“Neo China has been our favorite restaurant for years before Covid. After Covid we would go and pick up food even though we live in N. Durham because they were worth it. Finally the day came where we could go dine in again. A couple of the changes they have made we are not fond of. We miss the pot of hot tea that we could share. Now they serve canned soft drinks. My daughter and I went today for lunch and they were busy but our waiter apologized for our wait (at least 10 mins)took our order . He acted like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Finally a guy came in to work saw us and came over to see if we had been helped. Told him yes but it would be nice to get our drinks so he jumped on it. A lady sitting a couple of tables away and who had gotten there before us asked him to check on her order and he did. My daughter told me that there was another lady at a table and she drank het water and left. Can't say I blame her. Was thankful today that I had some cash because the young man that jumped in and got us our drinks, silverware and soup got a nice tip. We will go back because we genuinely think they are worth it.“
“I went to G.58 last night to take a friend out for her birthday. It was magnificent. This restaurant is an absolute gem. The food and atmosphere are exceptional. I am a former professional chef. I have spent a lot of time in China and eaten in many excellent restaurants there. Because of that, I generally do not go to Chinese restaurants here- I find they serve an Americanized version of Chinese food that does not do justice to the excellence of the cuisine. G.58 celebrates the beauty and elegance of Chinese cuisine. If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience and/or would like to get to know truly high end Chinese cuisine, this is your place. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Incredible!“
