“We were seated immediately. Our meal was delivered to the table in about 5 minutes after ordering! Great friendly service! Excellent food. You need to try their brisket, burnt ends baked beans, potato salad, and collared greens. You're gonna love it! Come hungry!“
“Great brewery, the owner Greg is very personable and great knowledge of beers. Makes great combinations and every beer we tried we enjoyed. My Wife and I made the trip from Gatlinburg and weren’t disappointed, and got to see some Elk around 430 pm back to our Air BnB through Newfound Gap Rd“

“We ate dinner there on a Monday, 9/25/23 while on our 50th anniversary vacation. We chose the outdoor seating. My wife got the vegetarian tacos with a side of sweet potato tots. I got the fried shrimp tacos with a chef’s side of maple balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts. The food was fantastic and a big thanks to our server, Eliza C., who was super! We highly recommend Foragers“
“Their beers were just okay, everyone in our group thought the lager and blonde tasted the exact same. However, the scenery was gorgeous since it's right on the river so that made it worth it. A plus is they're dog friendly with dog bowls!“

“We had a wonderful time hosting a wedding rehearsal dinner for our son and his bride at Happs Place. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the menu options perfect for the event. The service was efficient, polite, and on-time. We also had an afternoon lunch in the back where there is a putting green and other activities outside the bar. Dereck and his team are real pros. This place is a treasure and highly recommended.“
“Had the Chocolate Stout. Verrrrrry tasty. Monday night trivia is usually a lot of fun. Great crowd. Try the sweet potato quesadilla from the Cosmic Food Truck, plus there's pizza at the connecting Meatballs restaurant. PET FRIENDLY. They have ample seating inside and out (covered deck and uncovered area). Fun place!“

“My wife and I were in town as part of our 50th anniversary vacation and had dinner on Sunday 9/24/23. I had the 10 oz sirloin with loaded baked potato and green beans. My wife had the spinach with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. The food was awesome and the service was great! We highly recommend Boots if you’re passing through southwestern NC.“

“Easily the busiest place in Sylva. You wouldn't expect to find a fairly popular brewery here but it's located right off main. Offering food and live music too. Took the bartender forever to even pay attention to us though. Sat right at the bar and watched him help 3 or 5 people before us. So I guess if you have nothing else to do in Sylva then you just come here because it's the most active place in town. Overall would be back cause the server was nice when he did come over.Cool open atmosphere and they have lots of merch“
“This is my second time being at Balsam, I adore this place! The staff is so incredible, I ordered the “The BrewMaster’s burger” and the Raspberry cider, a side of fries and beer cheese. I mentioned that I’m allergic to Blue Cheese and I think two or three people communicated that (in all fairness it probably isn’t the best thing for me to order since the highlight is Blue Cheese). I was extremely impressed that they took my food allergy seriously, even though it’s foolish of me to order something with a component of a severe allergy. The fries were perfection, the beer cheese was delicious, and didn’t have a funky after taste, the burger was extremely good (though it was missing the star of the show, Blue Cheese). The onions and mushrooms were sautéed perfectly. Overall the experience after being on the road for hours was warm and welcoming, food was one point and the service makes you feel at home. ♥️ Thank you, Balsam♥️“

“We had two signature items from the menu that we have had many times. Not up to par this time (9-21-22). French onion soup was like warm. Mediterranean appetizer over browned. Italian pasta salad needed more oil and grated cheese. The added tofu was practically burnt and flavorless.“

“The host I think her name was Tana and didn’t catch the other host name was amazing very sweet and kind! The waitress Grace was awesome, she was very attentive to all questions we had and always kept a smile! The food was very good fresh and came out fast (the restaurant was crowded) I will definitely be back. Thank you!“

“Finally made it to River and Rails and I have been wanting to try this place for awhile. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30PM. We did have to wait for a bit for someone to notice us and take us to be seated. We picked to sit outside and didn't have anyone to come to us in about 10 minutes plus we were getting a little cold so we came back inside to sit. Of course had to get some drinks. I went with the 120 House Margarita which was pretty good and at $10 not bad. The bar was backed up so did take a little for drinks but our waitress did give us a heads up. Would for sure some here to watch a game since they have a lot of drink options plus cheap drinks like $2 Busch Light and $3 PBR Tall Boys. I will say the menu is loaded with amazing sounding options. They had all day Brunch options that sounded great then bar and Southern food too. They had a soup of the day which I had to try which was Cajun Clam Chowder. It was great! Great flavor and spices, full of clams and was the perfect consistency . Not to thick like many chowders I have had. I took awhile to make a decision but I ended up going with the Country Catfish & Grits which I got Cajun Cornmeal Fried (Blackened is also an option) which is topped with Cajun Cream Sauce. Of course sign me up. Our food came out and it looked great. Large piece of fish, rich Cream Sauce, Cheesy Jalapeno Grits, and with my Greens on the side. This was great and I would for sure get it again. They even make there own hot sauce which I loved too. Everyone we were with also enjoyed there food since everything was delicious. The only reason for 4 and 5 five stars was due to the service which again wasn't bad just a little slow. We will for sure be back maybe for some drinks and great food.“

“Super good food. Great place to have breakfast every morning if you're within 25ish minutes.Dietary restrictions: My wife has a gluten allergy, and frankly this is one of the most conscious restaurants with a simple, yet full and comprehensive gluten free menu. Most of their menu items are gluten free.“

“It's a nice place with a nice atmosphere. The food is good. I got the original Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. It was good but quite plain tasting. To be honest I was a quite disappointed that it did not have cheese whiz. I think it has provolone, which is a good cheese but it has no flavor when paired with the intense flavors of the meat, onion, and peppers. If they want to call it the original Philly Cheese Steak they really should be using cheese whiz.“

“Probably my favorite place to eat in Sylva besides Josh's Backstreet Takeout. Love their Caesar wraps and grilled chicken sandwich, and weekly wing flavor specials that are always A++ (got the pineapple wings on a whim this week and was surprised at how good they were). Good quality wing in and of itself which is a must for a place that serves wings. Only a few times did I get a super small portion or had part of my order missing or wrong. They are nice, just double check your order before you leave if ordering takeout!“

“So, I understand that placing an order in a drive-thru can be challenging for some people, but the new signage detailing how an individual should order appropriately is juvenile and condescending. I love Starbucks, and this one does it right, however, lose the sign. No one needs to be talked down to when ordering their $6 coffee.“

“I went there to do some homework, its a great atmosphere no yelling just people lightly enjoying themselves playing 8 ball pool or having discussions. There was a prayer board which was interesting, I guess it may be more of a community than just a coffee place.“
