“I'm from TX...and I found my people! Lol I can only speak for the brisket - and they had the fatty, juicy, pull apart brisket I like!! Oh my! In TX we rarely use sauce because you don't need it if the meat is right. There were a couple of pieces that were more lean, so I used their sauce on it. Ohmygoodness! That sauce is bomb! Mean, perfect! I'm glad I tried it. Gave sis a bite and she went the next day! Lol. Folks, if you love brisket, Wilson, NC has your back. I double-dare you to bring happiness to your mouth...go get it! ???“

“We are driving back to NY from FL. We were craving famous NC BBQ. Based on reading reviews we decided to venture from the hotel. Its a gem of down home cooking. The BBQ sauce was juicy and tangy. The collards were nicely chopped and not bitter or greasy. Mac & cheese was spot on. We got there at 4pm on a Saturday night and the crowds were starting to arrive. The staff is super helpful and courteous. My only complaint is that I didnt order a large dinner I received 2 very tiny pieces of chicken. I don't normally eat meat and this was delish! Next time we drive through we will be back!“

“Excellent chicken, good service, fair prices and even senior discounts. Minor flaw is one cook who peppers some pieces heavier than others, too much for our taste.UPDATE 01/2024:Since the original report, Smithfields in Wilson has either changed formula or begun overcooking its chicken and seems to use a heavier oil than before.Golden brown chiken has become medium brown, crisp & flaky crust has become more flat & crushed in nature.Consistent size pieces have become nearly half sized on several occasions! We are guessing this is a local management issue, or the lack of consistent management at this store.“

“Great food. Being from Wv. I had never herd of corn sticks. I must say that they do make a great tasting tool. Yes I used it as a tool for eating as I was eating my dinner. I had not eaten coleslaw prepared the way it was prepared at Parker’s. Thank you for a great new experience.“

“Wonderful BBQ sandwich. Great barbecue flavor and super juicy without much of a vinegar sauce, which can be hard to do. I love a good ENC vinegar based sauce but this sandwich didn't need it! Such a nice natural BBQ pork taste. Cole slaw is absolutely a winner. I'll be continuing my BBQ sandwich tour across the east but will definitely stop here again.Sandwich rating 9.5/10“

“Was in area, decided to find a local BBQ business for take out. Turkey BBQ sounded interesting. What a find! Boogie's Turkey BBQ location/building exterior/interior spotlessly clean. When I informed staff this was my first visit, I was promptly offered a taste sample of BBQ. DELICIOUS! Ordered 1 quart of BBQ, pint of slaw, sweet tea and housemade lemonade. Staff obviously takes great pride in service and food. I will make the trip from Raleigh again and again to try more of their menu offerings: collards, cabbage, green beans. Highly recommended ?“
