“A Symphony of Smoke: A Culinary Journey at Smoke Pit BarbecueIn the heart of Salisbury, North Carolina, amidst whispers of barbecue bliss, lies a culinary haven known as Smoke Pit Barbecue. Guided by the fervent recommendations of local friends, we embarked on a flavorful expedition, eager to savor the essence of true Southern barbecue. As we crossed the threshold of this gastronomic sanctuary, I was met with a surprising dichotomy. The modernist allure of Smoke Pit, with its sleek interior and contemporary accents, danced in harmony with the rustic charm expected of a barbecue sanctuary. Adorned with the vibrant creations of local artists, the walls whispered tales of community and culture, setting the stage for an unforgettable feast.Seated promptly by the effervescent Daisy, our journey began. With each glance at the menu, anticipation swelled within me, fueled by the promises of succulent brisket and smoky delights. Despite a slight misstep in communication, where my yearning for onion rings was lost in translation, the culinary voyage pressed on.In the company of cherished friends, we embarked on a symphony of flavors, each dish a crescendo of taste and texture. My chosen muse, the Brisket sandwich on a brioche canvas, beckoned with tender whispers of smoke-kissed perfection. Though marred by a lingering vein of fat, the brisket exuded a melody of flavor that danced upon the palate, a testament to the artistry of Smoke Pit's craft.Beside me, my wife reveled in the indulgence of a brisket-loaded baked potato, its hearty embrace a testament to the decadence of Southern comfort. As our friends delved into the BBQ mixer platter, a cornucopia of barbecue delights, laughter mingled with the heady aroma of smoked meats, weaving memories as intricate as the flavors before us.Amidst the clinking of glasses and the laughter of companionship, Smoke Pit Barbecue transcended the realm of mere dining, becoming a tapestry of shared moments and cherished memories. For in the alchemy of good food and great company, bonds are forged and stories are woven, each meal a chapter in the epic saga of friendship.Though Smoke Pit Barbecue may have faltered in the pursuit of ambiance, its soulful offerings and warm hospitality earned it a place in our hearts. With a variety of sauces adorning our table like treasures waiting to be discovered, each bite was a revelation, a testament to the culinary prowess that resides within these hallowed walls. In the tapestry of life, where flavors intertwine and memories are etched upon the palate, Smoke Pit Barbecue stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, beckoning travelers and locals alike to partake in its savory symphony. For in the embrace of good food and good friends, true magic is found, a sentiment that lingers long after the last bite is savored.Rating: A-Thomas CorraoWe are a couple traveling around the USA in our RV. “This little gem will surprise you with a modern take on traditional Vietnamese dishes. Great flavor and friendly staff, run by second generation immigrants. As good as any you’d find in Houston, San Fran, or LA. Not much seating but squeeze in for a yummy lunch!”
“Flat out excellent little country smokehouse.Warm, open, inviting atmosphere with the greats of country music playing in the background.Service was timely, super friendly, and helpful without being overbearing. We got the brisket philly sandwich, brisket loaded spud, and chicken salad with hush puppies and potatoe salad sides. The brisket in the sandwich and the spid were excellent. The chicken on the salad was a full breast portion, moist, and very flavorful, with a large salad portion. Potatoe salad was very good, without being overly mayo'y or mustard'y, and the hush puppies were flat out the best I've ever had since moving to the south 4 years ago. This place was a very pleasant surprise, during our stay in Mt Pleasant!”
“Stopped in for a quick dinner on my way through Mt. Pleasant. Sat at the bar as I was alone. Bartender was very pleasant and she always had a smile on her face. I feel bad that I didn't catch her name.Had a double Vodka Club($16). Well worth the price. They supply two dips as you sit. #1 the standard salsa, which was ok. Nothing to write home about. #2 queso blanco. It was pretty good.Ordered the Pork Tacos with fresh jalapeños on the side(not standard). They were reasonably tasty. I was glad I asked for the side of jalapeños. They needed a little something extra. Will definitely be back try a different dish.”
“I had never heard of this place and certainly didn't realize it was a chain until pulling it up on Google Maps. I ate here on Friday and it was spectacular. I was very happy with the pancakes and the livermush+egg+cheese sandwich. I also had a bite of hashbrowns and country fried steak. I highly recommend this place because not only was the food great, but the service was wonderful and the price was right.”
“We ordered take out for dinner. The take out service was awesome. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our food was good and hot. The Queensland Chicken and Shrimp Pasta is becoming my favorite thing to eat.”
“Wednesday is the day to go. Their Dipped Chicken will make you lick your plate? The baby flounder and white fish are awesome too. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but well with the wait. Slap my mouth awesome! All this with a gorgeous view of the Lake.Parking: Plenty of parking unless you are vying for a spot with those folks just heading to church or just getting out.Kid-friendliness: So many good choices for kids they're too busy eating to misbehave. Staff is very attuned to their needs.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat ramp to the inside with plenty of maneuvering room once you're inside. Reserved disabled parking right at the door.”
“Made to order, fresh everytime, worth the wait. If you support local businesses that support local businesses... you can't beat the local food products that are used on the menu. We love the 2nd Sunday Brunch.”
“This is a place in a shopping center that you wouldn't expect to be much. But the food was amazing, delicious. Very friendly service, definitely would return!”
“The food here is really good, I love the options from Greek to Seafood. We always get good portions here, and have an extra meal to take home for the next day. Service is quick and fast, normally takes around 15-20 minutes to get your food. I would highly recommend trying this Cafe.”
“Coffee Central is probably the best coffee/ice cream shop within 100 miles! It’s cheap, quick, and delicious. I get his spiced chai at least three times a week, it’s that good. Totally recommend.Kid-friendliness: There’s probably 20 different ice cream flavors for your kids to choose from.”
“Although, we have eaten inside I went thru the drive thru in back...Quick service....nice folks..The most important thing...great barbecue....I prefer pull barbecue with vinegar base sauce...This place can compete with the best of the best in the barbecue capital of NC...Lexington NC....Retired military been around a little!!....Do not look for five starplace...but five star clean, service, and food!!!..large selection.JDH”
“It's one of the best , a lot of places are having to cut back or raise prices. Sadly! The Rockwell Dinner is still serving great food at great prices an with a great staff. I highly recommend it .”
“The food at Lulu's is usually good. I am judging from a few trips to this location. With the economy and all it feels like a low blow to even mention, but it's a bit pricey. On my last visit the service was a bit slow as we ranlo on drink Emma table. It bears mentioning that the place can get a bit busy. And it was busy during my last visit.Parking: There is a limited parking but I feel it is ample for the size of the business.”
“Great breakfast, served quickly, so you can be on your way. Plentiful coffee,I had pecan waffles with bacon, and my husband had corned beef hash and eggs. Small place, and it fills up often, but it is well worth a visit. Service is fast and efficient. Our go-to place for take out,Philly steak, ribeye steak, and the reuben, all are excellent.Parking: When they are busy, it can be tough to find a parking spot.”
“I just finished my delicious sugar free Caramel Vanilla Latte that was purchased from Juanita, a coffee camper located in Rockwell, North Carolina. There were ten cars in front of us, but it moved quickly. We will definitely visit Juanita again.”
“Delicious treats. We special ordered Chocolate chip & walnut cookies....so very yummy. I also LOVE thier peperoni rolls. You gotta pop in and try this little shop!!!”
“Yooooo...so, if you want a GREAT pizza, or chicken, I swear this is the place to go. Hands down, best pizza around. Nobody even comes close. If you are in the mood for trash pizza, go next door to Domino's and they can hook you up , but if you want a GOOD pizza, Danny's is where you're going to get it. When you first walk in, you're gonna be concerned, I'm not gonna lie. Everyone looks angry and miserable, and for the most part, they are! But they funnel all that anger and misery into making an excellent pizza that tastes like pure positivity! You even get a free 2 liter of you order a large. Don't sleep on this place.....is good buddy, is so good.”
“Awesome FOOD & SERVICE!!!! Waitress super kind, very friendly and pleasant, courteous, menu knowledgeable, fast service. Food great, very fresh, cooked just right, fast service. Highly recommend.”
“I’m not from Albemarle so today I had to work Albemarle I do healthcare transportation 6 AM in the morning 630. Little lady I was taken to dialysis didn’t have breakfast and I said well I can stop and get you something. You gotta eat before you so I googled winks that’s what she wanted. I did not know they did not take debit cards but let me tell you the hospitality I got in that place this morning was unbelievable. The girl says well you can come back and pay later, even after I told her I wasn’t from here, so the gentleman sitting by the register payed for her food thank you I didn’t think people did that anymore so freaking awesome but needless to say I’ll be in Albemarle all day so hopefully I can get by ATM and swing back in there and pay for my food and maybe for the gentleman food tomorrow for him to pass it forward because it was a blessing for The lady she had to eat before she went to dialysis so a big shout out thank y’all!!! If This is the hospitality, Albemarle throw out I’m moving to Albemarle just saying”

“I read a previous review saying it was the “best Stromboli ever”. I rolled my eyes and went to give it a try with the thought that a Stromboli is a Stromboli. I was wrong ?. It was fantastic. Had the steak Stromboli with added mushrooms. Made to order makes a ”
“Food is always hands down the best, the servers are always nice. The lady working the to-go desk is not very friendly. But east coast wings is always a great place to go.”
“My daughter ordered my birthday cake. It wasa short notice but, they made it anyway. I wanted a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and red roses. It was absolutley perfect. It was very moist and the frosting was in harmony with the cake. Not to sweet. They did a fantastic job. Thank you.”
“This great place is easily one of the hot spots in Granite Quarry. It is a family owned restaurant that serves real down home country food. You can call it 'soul food' or 'comfort food' if you please, but once you eat here, I am sure you that will agree with me that it is great food! My most recent meal was cubed steak and gravy, northern, beans, and yams. I also had cornbread and southern style iced tea. I have just one word for this truly delicious meal: Outstanding!”
“We ate here Sunday for our 2nd time.. absolutely AMAZING food.. real food.. not over cooked frozen processed garbage you get from most restaurants these days!! Would highly recommend them.. get the broccoli.. you’ll thank me later!!!”
