“We have been going to Captains Galley for about 13 years or so and the food has always been pretty good with a few exceptions. They have the best hush puppies in the area and the portions have always been good. We have always thought it was a good value for the money all things considered until COVID. Prices have increased to the point that it's not a really a deal anymore. Unfortunately it has become a place that we will visit only on a rare occasion.“

“I tried El Batán Restaurant last week with a group of people and I cannot say enough good things about the food and the restaurant! This place is a hidden gem; and everyone said their food was fabulous! I have to agree! I had a Pisco Sour (a traditional Peruvian cocktail) and the Picante de Camarones as my entree off the A La Carte menu. It came with rice and was very satisfying and absolutely delicious! The seasoning was delicate and unlike anything I’ve tasted before. I can’t say enough great things about our meal, the restaurant, and the service (which was friendly, informative, and attentive). We took home two of the three desserts pictured and the Tres Leches (left) was our favorite! I almost hate to say this, because I’ll probably never get a seat there again, but don’t hesitate to take the opportunity to try this Peruvian menu. It’s a little off the beaten path (Hickory address, but really in Bethlehem—a left on 127 right after the bridge) but definitely worth the trip!“

“This was our first time at Tex’s Seafood. The young man Cody who was our waiter ensured we had everything we needed. He was the kindest most mannerly young man we have met in a very long time. “This was great, we were a little scared cause my wife has a shell fish allergy but they made sure all things were separated and there were no incidents. The food thoooooo a WHOLE SITUATION. Everything was golden brown and seasoned to perfect measure. I only wished there was more. It helped that the service was amazing can't remeber the your guys name but he made sure we were taken care of.“

“I haven't been to a captain d's in many years. I had an unpleasant experience at one and couldn't go back. I was so wonderfully surprised at t this place. The did was fresh tasting and hot. We had the senior plate, and that was enough for us and a good bargain. The crew was very nice and the dining room was clean and comfortable.“

“This is not your regular Mexican restaurant. They primarily have seafood. The food was great and the portions are very large. The dry ceviche (instead of salsa and chips) was good, but all the salsas were too spicy for us. I'd definitely come back, as they have a good variety of dishes to try.“

“We had been waiting for perch to be back on the menu and it did not disappoint! As always, the food was delicious! The salad bar is a star all by itself, and everything we have ordered has been great. The grilled salmon is especially top notch. We came for a late lunch on Sunday, so we only waited a few minutes for our table.All of the servers are attentive and friendly. It's a 25 minute drive for us to this restaurant, but worth it every time!“

“Our cousin brought us here for lunch after a morning of shopping. There were 9 of us with 4 of those being kids. I wasn't sure how this would go. We were seated outside downstairs, and there were plenty of things to keep the kids occupied while waiting on the food. The best part was that the kids' food came out first!!! That is a huge thing for parents of young children. After they finished eating, they again played while the adults finished and could easily see the kids playing. Our server was fabulous as well as the food! As an out of towner, I would definitely recommend stopping by.“

“Well well...It was my wife's Birthday and her favorite place to eat is carrabbas..So off we went..And I must say things have really changed.One server spilled stuff on our table.They forgot my wife & daughters salad..Our waitress was no where to be found..My wife's food was. Cold!..We probably want be going back .I hate that they dropped the ball.Food was way over priced for what we ate..Gang you need to step it up!My honest opinion!“

“We order from China King quite often and highly recommend them. Their portion sizes are plentiful, always fresh, hot and prepared exactly as we ordered. Our favorite is their sesame chicken combo, which comes with fried rice and an egg roll. For appetizers or just something light, the wonton soup and crab rangoons are amazing. The staff is friendly and restaurant is clean. My only complaint is that it’s not really an inviting place to go inside to sit down and eat.“

“My husband and I had lunch here today and as always it was amazing. The food and service is always first class!!! The chef also came out and visited with us to make sure our food was satisfying. We really appreciated that! We will definitely keep coming back to one of Hickory's hidden gems!“
