“I ordered a small cake and cupcakes for my recent wedding. Lindsay was an absolute delight to work with from the first email. Working with vendors for a wedding from states away is always stressful but she made it so easy. The cake was absolutely stunning and delicious. And all of our guests enjoyed the cupcakes. On top of that, she quickly put my mind at ease when it came go my now husband's nut allergies. I would highly recommend her for anyone in the area.“

Cornelio's Bakery Bakery •
2000 Spartanburg Hwy Ste 100, Hendersonville

“Cornelio’s is a hidden gem for Hendersonville Foodies. If you don’t speak spanish you might be intimidated by the Menu, but trust me it’s worth figuring out.Baked goods:They have beautifully decorated cakes, delicious bread, an assortment of pastries, donuts and cookies. Everything is made in-house and will appeal to anyone who likes baked goods, regardless of whether or not you’ve been to a Mexican bakery. Also everything is priced reasonably so just grab a couple of things from the display case and know you won’t be spending that much.Since Cornelio’s presents themselves as a bakery you might be surprised to find out they have a huge selection food for breakfast lunch and dinner.Tortas:These are HUGE sandwiches on fresh house-made bread. It’s a real treat to get a sandwich on artisan bread made in-house that’s this good. The Torta Mixe is probably the safest bet with bacon, steak, avocado, cheese, chipotle sauce, mayonnaise, lettuce, peppers and onions. It’s $15 but it’s a TON of food and is probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.Tacos:All of their tacos are great, although they are $3.25 instead of $2.50 as advertised. Still a great deal. Stick with the Asada (steak), carnitas/pastor (pork), pollo (chicken), chorizo (sausage) if you want to play it safe. If you’re feeling adventurous the barbacoa (beef), lengua (tongue), cabeza (beef cheek), and tripa (tripe), are all delicious but they cost an extra dollar. You can top everything yourself with as much cilantro, spicy pickled onions, radish, cucumber, pico, and some Amazing salsas.Quesadillas:These are good, but I don’t think the amount of food you get is as good value as other menu items so I won’t much time on them. Once again the price on the menu is dated and they cost a couple extra bucks.Alambres:Keto dieters can eat the Alambres, which are kind of like Fajitas: a platter of meat, peppers, onions, tons of cheese and bacon served with corn tortillas that can be left out for a delicious low-carb meal. Great topped with all the salsas, cilantro, etc from the condiment bar.Huaraches:Kind of like open-faced tacos on a thicker more doughy tortilla with a thin spread of black bean sauce. Topped with a crema, queso fresco, and a healthy portion of lettuce these are a great deal and are delicious.La Especial:The most expensive item on the menu is “La Especial” which is obviously food for 2 people. Basically a HUGE flank steak served on top of what amounts to a tortilla crust pizza with refried beans paste instead of tomato sauce. Comes with lettuce, avocado, tomato, and a delicious Oaxacan cheese. It also comes with slices of cactus which was very mild, almost like a slightly acidic cooked green pepper. If you’re feeling daring you can get it with Chapulines: roasted crickets marinated in lime juice, salt, and Adobo seasoning. I was pretty hesitant, but they are actually really good. If you can get over the mental barrier I assure you they are pretty tasty. The space is nice and smells of delicious baked goods, with Mexican music playing in the background. The staff are friendly and if they don’t speak the best English you can just point to items on the Menu and get everything taken care of. You can dine-in or takeout and there is a $15-minimum on credit card orders. They have a nice selection of drinks (mexican coke, TopoChico, Jaritos soda, and more).I can’t recommend Cornelio’s enough, and if you like traditional mexican food, sandwiches, and any kind of cake/pastries then you are missing out if you haven’t tried them.“

“My wife and I looked into several cake bakeries, but in the end, we chose Mara. Simply put, she was awesome, everything about the cake was awesome, and the value that you get is undeniable. She even argued with our venue to move the cake table to ensure the safely of our cake. Don't let her busy restaurant scare you. When it's "your" day, nothing else matters to her.“
