“Surprisingly this place was not your typical fast food restaurant. My sister had me try Bo Rounds for the first time. The server was really nice and gave us the Cajun seasoning on the side. They came out quickly and were warm, slightly crispy on the outside, and not greasy at all, though also didn't seem too dry. The restaurant was bright and clean as well. As a vegan I probably won't purposefully visit again but it's good to know there's at least one thing on the menu I could get in a pinch!“

“I'm with a lot of the other reviews. Over priced much....... got the Gumbo. If you're going to serve someone Half of the container maybe put it in a smaller container so the customer doesn't feel jipped. The Gumbo was very flavorful with the right amount of spice. But 1 small scoop of rice..... rice is very inexpensive and they put it in a huge container to make it seem even smaller. $17 for a lunch. Nope“

“We just ate here for breakfast and it was excellent!!!! I got the Viewmont Hash and it was incredible. Grits and English muffin were delicious as well. Server and host were super friendly and put up with our energetic toddler running around all over the place! If you’re looking for a new breakfast place, I recommend you give it a go!“

“We went with a group of 17 people. They had 2 waitresses for our group and they were very attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that I thought dessert was a little expensive, but drinks were cheaper than some places so that made it okay in the long run. “

I was 3 cars back and had to wait for about 15 minutes before the line moved.I got a footlong hotdog, monster burger, and onion rings. Total was $13. Would be a good place to bring some kids and get ice cream. Monster burger wasn’t huge. Maybe about the same size as a quarter pounder.You might get your food faster if you sit at the tables.“

“It was our first visit to the angus steakhouse in hickory, nc. It was the best dine in experience we have EVER encountered. It felt like a true small town steakhouse. The staff were super friendly, they came around frequently talking to each table. You can tell they truly enjoy their job and the customers. The food was quick to come out and so fresh. I highly recommend, and we will return without question. The owner and staff really pour their heart into that restaurant!“

“First trip to Parkway House in a while, good to see things were chugging along busy as ever. Excellent waitress, pleasant and attentive. Food was the same good quality. Everything was clean or being cleaned. So if you're an original Springs Road native like me or just don't want to change out of your work clothes and desire to go somewhere unassuming, good food at a good price is waiting for you at Parkway House.Parking: Unload and reload right up front.Wheelchair accessibility: Sidewalk same level as parking lot, go right in through 2 glass doors (not automatic).“

“The service is wonderful & everyone is so friendly. Most of the food is what you'd expect of a pub, some a little more creative, all absolutely delicious, & portions are very large. The mixed drinks are very well made. Everything is reasonably priced. The ambiance is cool both in & outside. The location is completely unexpected. I lived right up the street from this place for a good while without even knowing it, and the game nights are super fun so we will definitely be making lots of return trips!!“

“Thus place was so unique the kids and adults loved it! The waitress came back 4 times to check on us we alwayse had refills and the food came out fast and hot. For four of us to eat three of which were regular adult meals and one kids meal was 60.00 very reasonable for the quality of food and portions you get. If you get a chance to go get the potatoe salad it's homemade and delicious. Thank you for the wonderful experience.“

“One of my favorites in the Valdese area. Generous portions, uniquely delicious sides. Really love the steak soup (I think that's what it's called). shrimp and grits, Philly steak and cheese, lots of delicious choices of americana's best. Friendly service.4 starts on service cuz they can be a little slow and on atmosphere cuz it's a little noisy but I still love it!“

We had the senior plate, and that was enough for us and a good bargain. The crew was very nice and the dining room was clean and comfortable.“

“The goat cheese and pepper jelly chicken sandwich was amazing as was the fried chicken and pimento cheese sandwich. The goat cheese was incredibly smooth and light and the fried chicken was some of the best tasting and most tender we’ve ever had. It’s also nice you can substitute chicken for any burger. “My partner and I were promptly seated in a spacious booth. The atmosphere pleasant to the senses, wasnt crowded or noisy, with a comfortable temperature. The cosmopolitan and IPA arrived quickly with a tall glass of iced water. The potato skins appetizer, which followed shortly thereafter, was average. Our meals..my meal consisted of a crunchy fresh wedge salad with a deliciously chunky blue cheese dressing and chunks of blue cheese, and a perfectly cooked baked potato. My partner had a chicken sandwich with broccoli, which didn't last long. He said the chicken was cooked perfectly tender and tasty with toppings he requested, the broccoli was steamed. Our waitress, was friendly and knowledgeable, but not bothersome. Excellent service.“

“My new favorite restaurant in all of North Carolina. Right off 127 in Hickory, a modest building hids an amazing restaurant with some of the best fried shrimp I have ever tasted that happens to also be gluten free. Plus the hush puppies are also gluten free! I had the trifecta of Fried Shrimp, hush puppies and great tartar sauce for the first time in over 15 years since I had to go gluten free. This is no accident, the chef herself is gluten free and expertly crafts the seasoned breading by hand. She also made a killer pumpkin cheesecake with gluten free graham cracker crumbs and makes several other GF cakes that I hope to sample soon. Also the soups are GF and amazing like everything we tried! I would give this place six stars if I could. We just loved this place for the food, the great customer service and down home atmosphere! “Had early Saturday night dinner there. The atmosphere was quiet and hardly any patrons. Even so, they sat my Mom and I in a booth directly next to the stacked up children's high chairs nook. It was not crowded at all, so wondering why we got what is probably the worst table in the house. The food came very quickly and was undercooked. We are nice ladies, so we didn't complain. 3 stars at best.“

“For a small town "hole in the wall" this place beat my expectations. KC was our server and she was friendly and helpful with the menu as it was our first time here.We started with jalapeño poppers and they were amazing. Peppers inside were soft so when you bite into them they dont pull right out of the breading, breading was gold and crisp. 10/10 there.I got the chicken breast, pinto beans, mac&cheese and cornbread. Chicken was flavorful and fairly moist. Beans and onions were good and I'll be back for more. Mac and cheese was good(a few cold spots however) and the cornbread was soft, moist about as good as I've had hear in NC.She had chicken tenders collard greens and Mac and cheese. She had no complaints, specifically said the ranch was great. Collard greens better than she's had before.Well be back !Kid-friendliness: Modest kid menu. Good kid friendly options.“

“It was really crowded because it was after church and that was okay. The service was great the food not so much. I had the country fried steak mashed potatoes and turnip greens. The white gravy on my potatoes and on the country fried steak didn't taste good. It tasted like it was made out of old grease. My friend had the breakfast, he said it was good except for the gravy biscuits. It was the same white gravy he didn't like the taste of it either.“

“First off the food here is absolutely amazing. The mussels in white wine sauce are to die for we get them everytime we come. The wraps are amazing too you can’t go wrong with them. My girlfriend always gets the tuna or the cauliflower pizza is great. overall the food is unbeatable for the area. “Our cousin brought us here for lunch after a morning of shopping. There were 9 of us with 4 of those being kids. I wasn't sure how this would go. We were seated outside downstairs, and there were plenty of things to keep the kids occupied while waiting on the food. The best part was that the kids' food came out first!!! That is a huge thing for parents of young children. After they finished eating, they again played while the adults finished and could easily see the kids playing. Our server was fabulous as well as the food! As an out of towner, I would definitely recommend stopping by.“

“Windy City Grill (aka Homers) is a cozy little restaurant that sits on highway 127 in the Viewmont neighborhood of Hickory, NC. This is a must go to place when you are in town. They offer a variety of options or you can go for breakfast and get a livermush, egg, and cheese ? or you can go for lunch and get one of their famous cheeseburgers. You can go through the drive thru or you can go inside and sit at a booth or sit at the counter and be waited on. Personally, I prefer to go inside and sit at the counter. It's a more personal experience. The employees here are top notch. They are super friendly and very polite. I guess you can say that this is a good ole hometown diner. Please, if you're in town visiting Hickory, stop by and grab a burger at Windy City Grill. You won't be disappointed. ?Parking: There's about 6-8 spots in the front, but there are a few more in the rear of the building.“

The menu was stocked full of great platters and a la carte items for both breakfast and lunch. I had an omelette, while my wife had grilled salmon. “Fourk is a staple in our restaurant rotation in Hickory. However, it had been quite a while since we visited. The service was a little slow to start. We were given water and menus, and then we waited for 15-20 minutes before our appetizer order was taken. We ordered the Buffalo meatballs and the mussels. They arrived at our table quickly, and both were tasty. Our table ordered the Mahi, orzo chicken, and the seafood melange. All three dishes were really good. For dessert, we had the blackberry wine cake (a MUST for anyone visiting Fourk), and the cheesecake of the day. The blackberry wine cake was fantastic. The cheesecake was very good, too. We will visit Fourk again soon if for nothing other than that blackberry wine cake.“

“Olde Hickory Tap Room is located in Union Square in Downtown Hickory. I dined here on a Sunday so parking was easy as the area wasn't too busy. When I arrived the host immediately sat me at a booth and didn't try to seat me at the bar which tends to be common places. My waitress was as friendly as could be. I went with the sirloin steak; fries and salad. The sirloin was ok but I usually order another cut of meat that is leaner but that wasn't on the menu here. The salad was larger than expected so I didn't finish the meal but I rarely do. I was given both a to- go box and a tea to go. I almost returned for dinner here later in the week but then wandered around and ended up at their other restaurant at the train station.“

“We had their new chicken sandwich it was suppose to have blue cheese crumbs, but had blue cheese salad dressing on it instead. They had it so cold in there that the fries were hot when they came out, but got cold right away. We also ordered chips and salsa. The chips were so greasy that you could not eat them and stock together. Everyone was sending them back and still getting charged for them. These are what the chips looked like.“

“I was lucky to get a tee time on 04/13/2023 after a mess up at GolfNow and found a tee time at Player's Ridge. i really enjoyed the layout. the course is set up well and very enjoyable. Some of the greens did not fair to well after the winter. I hope they come back soon. I will be back to play it later this summer once the grass comes in. The staff was very pleasant and quite friendly. I wish I lived closer to play it more often. it has a potential for a great course if a little more money was invested in the course it would be outstanding.“
