“This is such a gem in our little community. I'm so glad my husband and I popped in for dinner.The BBQ (and I've eaten a lot of BBQ) is beyond yummy. They know their "Butts" and it shows.The meat is deliciously smoked, any meat.We've had chicken from other BBQ places locally, and it's not smoked. This team takes BBQ seriously, this isn't a hobby.I ordered the BBQ Nachos, and they remind me of my favorite Baseball Nachos. Lots of pulled pork, with burnt ends mixed in, and I didn't need the sauce. It was very tasty.My husband ordered the chicken quarters, and I will say that he enjoyed that thoroughly. I got a taste of the chicken, and it was well smoked- even had the smoke ring on it, and the BBQ sauce is bold. And I like bold.They have rotating sides, and regular sides, and they have 4 desserts to choose from- we got both the banana puddings (they have a regular one, and then a Nutter Butter one) and they were both very tasty. *I would suggest adding more vanilla to the pudding mix though, bump up the flavor! Add some cream cheese!But if you are looking for a BBQ that is serious, this would be the place!Thank you to the restaurant team for bringing this little gem to our community, and thank you to the staff that also have other responsibilities in the Community.We will definitely be back!“

“We had a big group of family in the last of July and they wanted to eat at 1841. I contacted Vicki that Saturday afternoon around 3:00. Not only did she take our group of 23 on a Saturday evening for dinner but they did an amazing job of getting all of our food out with only one salad missing (wonderful service since they only had 2 cooks that day). They also had a group of 100 veterans out back that they were serving. Great job Vicki and staff! Food is always great and service is amazing! One of my favorite places to go and also to take out of town family to visit!“

“Amazing little hole in the wall diner. Great food and selection of items. I always get the livermush, egg, and cheese with the livermush cooked crispy. And it's ALWAYS cooked to perfection. The employees are super friendly and helpful. They have limited hours and are only open for breakfast and lunch, so keep that in mind when you're wanting to order from here. The parking lot is small so just keep that in mind when coming here to eat. They don't have indoor dining, but they have a table or 2 outside to sit at and eat. This is a must try restaurant when you're in Hickory. Make sure to get napkins when you pick up your order because sometimes the sandwiches can get a little messy, but those are the best kinds to eat. Prices are outrageous like other places. I give this place a 10/10!!“
