“An absolutely great stop if you are craving seafood. My grandson and I enjoy it every time we go. Always fresh and honestly one of the best baked potatoes around. Everything is pretty much fried with the same seasoning and that is why I didn't give it a 5 star for the food. Service is great and the sides are excellent and seasoned well. If you like challenge foods the oyster bar connected to the building has a hot oyster challenge called "The Rooster," I personally have 3 shirts for completing the challenge. You can order it in the Sandpiper and they will bring it to you. No need to go to the bar to make bad decisions.“
“We have been driving through LA for years heading to Morehead City and have only recently stopped in. I'm bummed we haven't been coming longer! First things first, the salad bar is incredibly fresh. That is usually my meal. We love that they have a full bar and we have always had great service. Their consistent hours, M-Sa, 11-9, is a real plus. Absolutely worth the two-minute detour off Highway 70!“
“Great Southern food made fresh daily. They're open Tuesday-Saturday, they have different daily specials Tuesday-Fridays. My favorites are the hamburger steak & gravy, fried chicken,ham, squash casserole, potato salad, coleslaw, hush puppies and the 7 layer salad. A plate with meat 2 sides, drink & hushpuppies is less than $10.00“
“Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-N-Q is always a good choice! I'm never able to choose between their amazing fried chicken, and pork barbecue, so I always get a combination plate. Make sure to try their incredible Brunswick Stew! Service is always spot-on, and the dining room is clean and welcoming. I especially like the sink they provide for handwashing by their service counter. They've been providing this complimentary option since long before the pandemic. Kudos to Smithfield's!“
“Everything about Smith's is amazing. The food is absolutely delicious. The spare ribs are fall off the bone tender, and the shrimp is the best around. The other food is yummy as well. All the employees are sweet and treat you with that good ol southern hospitality.“

“This location is a quaint little spot, easy to miss the yellow sign outside if you don't know where to look.I receive request for deliveries from this location quite often, especially when the time reaches closer to the afternoon. To my knowledge, there are not a whole lot of people who work at this establishment, so there's little surprise that the waiting time is... extensive. I leave it up to you, the reader, if whether or not longer-than-normal waiting times is a deal-breaker. I understand if not everyone is game to wait, at least, 10 minutes for food. One customer told me that they had called ahead, and at time of writing was over an hour ago.To the customer, I recommend they call ahead as soon as possible to make up for the extensive waiting time. To management, I suggest they hire one or two more people, at least for the afternoon.The parking lot is sizeable for the small establishment, but can be easy to miss since it's in the back.I will say that the two ladies who I have seen are sweet and really nice. At time of writing, I've had no trouble with them personally. Therefore, I conclude that the service is just fine.The atmosphere, however, is up for debate. I personally have no trouble with it, but I do understand if the lack of lighting in the area can be off-putting for some people.I had the pleasure of finally trying some of the food at this establishment: namely, the #2 (3 slices of pizza, fries, and sweet tea). Personally, I wouldn't say their stuff is top-tier. As someone else once put it (when I asked for their opinion on the matter), it's fine. Not great, but not bad either.“
