“Food is authentic Thai and HOT. You can request the degree of heat, but be warned that hot does mean HOT! I like hot and spicy and have eaten food in Thailand. Medium spicy is plenty good for me. If you try to order on the website, you have to wait until they are open. Restaurant was clean, restrooms available, and free parking.“
“Best authentic Chinese in the area. We do not order the more American tailored stuff. We only order family style. The place is small and very basic. But you go there for the food, not the ambience. We most often take out as a family, but dine in with friends.“
“We've been coming here for years since it was in the old location. It was always good, but it's gotten better over the years. Once in a while, we try different Thai restaurants, and even when they are good, they are not as good as this one. We keep coming back because they never disappoint.Vegetarian options: You can have tofu instead of meat. I'm not sure about the broth. When a few people at our table asked for tofu instead of meat, they asked if we were vegetarian because the dish also had eggs“
“Wow guys! Get yourself some take out or dine in because this place is sooo flavorful! Ive been to Thailand and this place has tons of authentic dishes to choose from! We sat outside and loved the vibe—they had tons of heaters and we were comfortable! My daughter is picky and they made plain noodles in a broth that she devoured! The service was fast, friendly and honest! Totes recommend this place! #supportlocal #apexncKid-friendliness: They dont have a kids menu but can make delish plain noodles $3 and add broth for $8! Win win!“
“My son and I always have our weekly dinner here and make sure we sit at Jen’s table because her service is awesome. We usually get salmon ceviche or spicy tuna crackers to start…so yummy… and definitely can’t miss out on the BOGO sushi rolls. My favorite rolls are the Tar Eel and Sin City. My son also loves the Sin City and Tuna special rolls. When they have Toro available, We always make sure to get it too. Join up for their rewards because the perks are amazing. My last dinner here, I got $30 off just saving up rewards points. Can’t beat it!“
“This has been our go-to Thai place in Raleigh! We have not found better Pad Thai anywhere else in Raleigh or when visiting other cities. The takeout portions may seem a little expensive, but they give you a large portion that can feed most people two meals, so it’s worth it!“
“Far and away this has been the most delicious, fresh, and plentiful sushi I’ve had in quite some time. The Thai iced tea is delicious and I will most definitely be coming back again. I’m happy I took this photo because within five minutes it was gone.“
“My husband serprised me over the weekend and we drove 3 hrs to Raleigh for a comedy show, but a huge goal was to have authentic Thai. We lived in Thailand for 12 years and have missed genuine Thai so much. It was great talking to P. Joy in Thai and the food was the best we've had state side! Khao Soi and som tom were both so delicious! We actually ate lunch yesterday at another Thai place, but it had nothing on Thai Star.“
“i tried their food for first time last night when picking up food for my workhad a super tasty seafood pad thai number 3 spicy leveland OMGit was very tastyand on pointso good i m getting a poke bowl for lunch todayvery good food and customer serviceu know we ll be back for sure , my employers and i boththank you once again… it was delicioussugoï Oïshikeep up the good work“
“We loved the food. The thai shrimp curry was delicious. We had the mild spicy version and i would recommend mild for all items if you cannot handle too much spice. We had fish appetizer and kung pao in medium. Both spicier for me yet very tasty.“
“Chef apologized and offered discount when we conveyed the food didn’t completely meet expectations due to dietary restriction. This place was responsive to feedback and was open to making amends. Food quality seemed to be good, nice place to eat if you don’t have any dietary restrictions, hence giving five stars.“
“We stopped by here on our travels from Helen Georgia to Wilmington. My wife was craving some Thai food and this is what she found. BJ took care of us at the restaurant. When I say he took care of us, I mean he accommodated our family of 5 in ways we couldn’t even imagine. It was such a homie feel. He adapted the menu for our kids and he was attentive to every one of their needs. Even before we left, he gave us drinks for the road and made sure we were taken care of prior to our departure. He made it a point to get all of our names and wish us a safe travel. The love this man showed to us was amazing and we hope you experience the same thing when you dine here. The food was great! Everything was fresh to order and very flavorful.“
“All I can say is if you have not yet tried Bua Thai Durham, just stop everything and go. Now. They have real Lao sticky rice, which is a wonder in itself. Any shape you want to shape it, it will hold. And the taste!!! This was my first time here, and I ordered the marinated chicken and papaya salad. The layers of flavor, sweet, sour, spicy, salty, all come together masterfully.I cannot wait to return.Best restaurant in Durham.“
“Hands-down, the best Thai restaurant I have been to, and one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in general! Atmosphere was extremely clean and welcoming from the moment my girlfriend and I walked in. Waitress was very friendly and provided many suggestions of the many quality options on the menu!I ended up ordering the fried gyoza, Thai iced tea, and Panang curry, while my girlfriend ordered the Miso soup and Hawaiian poke bowl, and all were very well made and satiating. Couldn't have had a better experience and look forward to coming again!(P.S., the music choice including some of my favorite artists, such as dhruv and keshi, was just icing on the cake! ?)“
“This restaurant is soo delicious! I love their Thai fried rice with tofu and all of their soups are just lovely. I really enjoyed the flavor and portion size of the meal that I got for takeout for dinner. It was filling and flavorful without being too heavy on the stomach. The service is excellent also, all of the staff are so friendly. I loved it here!“
“Quick and friendly service! Decent sushi for a good price.Dietary restrictions: Wide variety of menu options to fit many dietary needsParking: Free parkingKid-friendliness: Kid friendly, staff was very accommodating for our childWheelchair accessibility: Yes, restaurant was wheelchair accessible.“
“Great service and authentic food! Stopped by when I was shopping in the area. It was very relaxed, the service was fast and everyone was very friendly! The beef pad Thai was excellent. I love that they truly make it Thai Hot when requested! Their soups are also good. So delicious“
“All meats in the dishes were juicy and tender, perfectly cooked. The pho soup had an excellent flavor. The bun chicken dish was also very good, although it was missing carrots. Spring rolls were freshly made, the wrappers were a little extra chewy but very good.Vegetarian options: There is an option of vegetarian spring rolls as well as a few vegetarian dishes.Parking: Apple parking outside the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: There are two ways into the restaurant. The entrance at the front of the building has a wheelchair ramp, the entrance on the side of the building has a few steps.“
“The food was delicious, we had beef ramen and a set of rolls and sushi and a children's set. The ramen broth was so rich and delicious. I would come back here again if I lived nearby. The staff was friendly, our server did a great job. There was such a loud group of people sitting next to us that we felt uncomfortable. But this does not apply to food and service“
“What a great accidental find. This place is a sleeper in a strip mall! Delightful service, so attentive and gracious I thought I was in a much swankier big-city restaurant. Furnishings are simple but sparkling clean and beautifully set. The background music was unusually elegant. And the food was absolute perfection. Drunken Noodles (good Thai-restaurant-test) was a piping hot, perfectly seasoned, salty-sweet-hot-umami melange of Thai flavors, fresh broccoli and TONS of big fresh-tasting shrimp.Vegetarian options: Plenty of choicesDietary restrictions: I have none, but saw lots on the menu to address these, and overhead folks ordering things exactly the way they needed them.Parking: plenty of parking, probably just need to make sure you're in a space marked for "retail" with the campus next door.“
“This is the gem you always hope to find when visiting a new town! This is not a fancy Asian fusion place that overcharges for lackluster food and modern atmosphere. This is authentic, homemade, affordable food that does not disappoint. Simple menu that won't overwhelm, until that first bite of your delicious dish! There is limited seating and the dining area isn't anything to brag about. But it is an honest and simple place that focuses on the quality of their food. Everything was great. We had the spring rolls, Lao egg rolls, Lao egg noodles, pad thai, fried garlic pork and laab beef. All were tasty, and we had a hard time remembering if we had ever had better before. Whether we did or not, this is an A+ establishment that is well worth a trip!“
