“I have been to the Fonta Flora location in Morganton several times. Have always been a fan of that location and LOVE the beverages they create. This past weekend, we were in the Lake James area and decided to give the farm location a try.What a GREAT location. BEAUTIFUL! Inside and outside seating. LOTS of big open green space. Dog friendly (on a leash). Kid friendly (when behaving). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food truck was cranking out some amazing wood fired pizzas and other nibbles. The pork belly was incredible!We will be visiting again when we are back in the area.“

“What an amazing experience! Mary was warm and welcoming, she immediately made my husband and I feel right at home. The wines were delicious, what a hidden gem tucked away in McDowell County. If you are a fan of delicious, Bordeaux style dry wines, this is the spot for you! Beautiful scenery, delicious wines, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are already looking forward to visiting again!“

“wow...what a fun evening for my wife and I. Put our Malibu ski boat in at the boat ramp across from the marina. Putted out a bit and dropped anchor. Layed on the deck basking in the sun listening to great tunes in the boat. About 7 pm we piloted over to Black Bear Marina, docked at the very easily accessible dock. Walked up to the restaurant and got a table overlooking the water on a magical evening with a slight breeze. The DJ had an incredible sound system and was killing it this eve to a full house. Our wings came in short time and wre perfectly cooked and seasoned. My Margarita was delicious. Burgers came out shortly after and were incredible. We REALLY enjoyed ourselves and thank all the staff at Black Bear for doing an amazing job tonight.“

“Food: I order three scopes. Cookies n cream, chocolate fudge and peanut butter chocolate. The ice cream tasted fresh. There seem to have a good amount of options. I learned that the owner hand makes the ice cream which is rare now. Service: The owner served me, I came 10 minutes before closing but she welcomed with warmth and took time to explain the flavors, she even offered me a sample for any flavor i asked about. She was very accommodating. Atmosphere: It seems like a typical ice cream shop, has that hometown feel, its within the town of marion, and store front was renovated. They even have two table outside.Parking: Depending on when you come you may have difficulty finding parking near the store front.“
