“Unbelievable BBQ! I highly recommend this Very Welcoming Mom and Pop BBQ! We bought "The Old Man" and every bite was delicious! Brisket was cooked to perfection, not grisly at all. The ribs fell off the bone, and the pulled pork was tender and not dried out. The BBQ sauce tasted homemade and went great with all the meats! The Cornbread, Potatoe Salad, Baked Beans and Coleslaw paired very well with the meal and to top it off the Apple Crisp hit the spot for a nice dessert! We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 small children under 4) and it fed us and we still had leftovers!”

“Excellent pizza almost as good as Ct's Pepe's which is where I learned about great pizza. 2 areas of improvement needed. 1) spread sauce and toppings farther out on the crust. 2) Cook the crust longer to get it brown or more cooked instead of soft. Needs crunch.”

“On family vacation and checked out this place. Flounder was great and the fried shrimp was very good. My daughter, after much debate, decided on a cheeseburger (there’s a story here and the staff was more than accommodating after she changed her mind from the chicken tenders). While I didn’t have the cheeseburger, it looked great and there was no complaints from the one who did.

For a store front restaurant, this one is hard to beat. The prices are reasonable for what you get. I will say, the slaw was different. Not my thing and I know slaw is a gamble whenever you go out but it was definitely different.”

“Cafe Ahora really takes care of their customers. Their location on Hwy 17 was closed this evening but they’d neglected to lock the door and I walked right in, desperate for a shaken espresso. I had spent almost 3 days in the hospital without coffee and really wanted a shaken espresso before I went home. But I hate being “that person”, so I apologized, and tried to leave. But the lovely couple insisted I was not imposing and proceeded to make the best shaken espresso (breve, because that’s my jam!) I’ve ever had. Thanks, guys. For making my entire day. I already love your Midway location, and now, I’ll be sure to frequent your Hwy 17 location, too!”

“Went to The Scoop Sunday morning and ordered a bacon, egg & cheese sandwich just as I have numerous times through the years. I was told that they no longer served it on toast, so I would have to choose a bagel. I asked why I couldn't get it on toast and I was told... "They were selling to many of them on toast, and not enough on bagels, so they quit offering it on toast. That way they would have enough bread to make a kids' grilled cheese". I am still shaking my head!!”

“Went to DQ on way to the beach last week, Had great customer service from the lady who we found out was the manager who not only whipped up some amazing Sundaes and peanut buster parfaits for a big group of us but did it with out missing a step and always kept smiling, We enjoyed our stop and will definitely be back. “Deluca Pizza is part of Subway. I've lived in the Holden Beach area since 2010 and have had Petronies and Mama Bravad pizza. Patronies used to be good. Recently had MB small pizza which had maybe 10 microsliced slices of pepperoni. I only ate 1/2 and didn't finish the rest. Quite unusual for me. Delucas was well made, lots of pepperoni, more than 3 slices of mushroom and piled high with mozzarella. What a delight!Heads above the other 2 "pizza" places”

“This place is small but mighty. All food is cooked to order. Not long wait times. And each order comes with PLENTY. I’ve been getting my takeout here for over 8 years. And I can say I’ve never been disappointed. They’re ready to help, and efficient and quick.
